3rd Person’s POV

Erika wore the denim jacket that Lei gifted her while Lei wore the scarf the Erika gave her. Jeril was also wearing the sweater from Anika and Anika was wearing the boots she gave. They were dressing up cause they were going to the year-end show where Erika is a guest.

“Will Bangtan be there?”

“Yes. TWICE, BTS, GOT7, GFriend and even the new girl group, LOONA. They’re amazing too, I love KimLip and Olivia Hye.” Erika was in fangirl mode and Lei couldn’t help but laugh.

“Alright. Well, I need to go. Anika unnie and Jeril unnie are waiting for me there.”

“Okay, thanks for visiting me before the show.”

“What friends are for?” Lei teased and Erika laughed this time because Lei was using one of the most iconic line from Erika’s favorite ship in Supergirl. “See you after the show?”

“Yep, I promised you guys that we’ll go to the temple after. So, yeah. See you.”

With that, Lei walked out of the backstage and into the main venue. They sat down infront cause that’s where Erika had told them too. After a few minutes of waiting, the show started.

It took 2 hours of performances before the show had ended. They finished it off with the song ‘One Candle’ and ‘Music is my Life’ before the curtain closed off. The 4D members stood up from their seat and made their way to Erika’s car in the parking lot.

Erika arrived after a few more minutes of waiting and went to sit in the backseat with Lei cause Jeril was the one driving. She hadn’t gotten her license yet but she was a good driver.

Jeril drove them to the farthest temple, to avoid any inconvenience for Erika, and parked the car near the entrance. There were a lot of people but it was better than the one in the city. Right now, they were on top of some mountains but the temple still has many visitors.

“Where to?”

“Lei and I will find some place to watch the fireworks show while you and Anika could grab those lucky charms inside the temple. We still have 10 minutes left before midnight.”

“Alright, text us where you are.”

“We will.”

With that, they parted ways. Luckily, the yearend show was pre-recorded before the official New Year, just like what happened during Christmas, so Erika got some time with the 4D.

Right now, Lei and her were walking further away from the temple to find a good view. They passed by some food stalls and Lei held Erika’s hand to stop her.

“What?”

“Are we also in-charge with the foods?”

“Jeril said she’ll buy some foods on their way to us but if you want to buy, go ahead.”

Lei grinned and dragged Erika to the cotton candy stall, then to the ice cream stall and to the other food stall. By the time they were done, both of them were holding a lot of foods. Plus Erika was wearing a half-eagle mask while Lei was wearing a tiger headband.

They only have 2 minutes left so they ran out of the woods and got out to an empty field. Erika texted Jeril and Anika the direction where they are and the two arrived within a minute, both holding two charm bracelet in their right hand and foods on the other hand.

Jeril handed the two she’s holding to Erika, which are colored blue and green, before facing Anika and letting the older girl wore the orange charm bracelet on her wrist. Anika then handed the violet bracelet and let Jeril wore it around her.

Erika and Lei did the same with their bracelet. Erika wore the green around Lei’s wrist and Lei wore the blue around her’s. After wearing the lucky charms, they sat down on the ground and waited for the fireworks show to start. Only a few more seconds left…

THREE, TWO, ONE…

Lei leaned in and kissed Erika’s cheek just as the countdown ended. The fireworks started to blow up in the sky but Erika was smiling for a different reason. The fireworks went on while Jeril faced Anika and the older girl was taken aback by how serious Jeril looks.

“W-What?”

“Are you a firework?”

“Huh?”

“Cause you make my heart go BOOM, BOOM.” Jeril was still looking at her seriously so it took a while before Anika realized that Jeril said a pun and she laughed at how lame it was.

“Oh, god…” Anika muttered between her laughs. “Where did you learn that?”

“Leader-nim. She say things like that sometimes, why?”

“You should stop before your gangster reputation lowers down. Those are lame dad jokes. Ked unnie is a lame dad, don’t inherit her corny personality.”

“Oh, okay. Noted.”

Anika laughed again before leaning her head on Jeril’s shoulder. “It was sweet, though. I’ll give you points for that.” and Jeril chuckled softly. “Happy New Year, Chase.”

After the fireworks show, they headed back to the parking lot to go home. Erika was the one driving this time, with Lei in her passenger seat to pick the music. On the way home, Erika made a stop at a convenience store to buy pizza and ice cream.

As soon as they arrived, they threw their coats off and plopped down in the couch, except for Erika who went to put the pizza and ice cream in the coffee table then went to the kitchen to grab four spoon for the ice cream and handed it to her members.

Each one of them have a tub of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and Erika raised her’s up. “To one hell of a year. Even if many troubles came, we’re still together. I hope it stays that way.”

“Cheers.” the three members raised their tub of ice cream up before eating up.

It was indeed one hell of a year. A few more months and it was graduation. Erika really hoped that they would still be together until they end, she really hoped it stays like that. The four of them as family, the four of them as 4D.

“To family.” Until the end.
