LANCELOT_

Jeonghan was inside Jun’s boutique when Minghao, who was roaming around the city waiting for some documents and cargo, paid his tailor an unexpected visit. He was alone that time. His body guards, including Wonwoo, stayed by the car because he didn’t want stiff people around him.

Jeonghan never expect seeing him inside that shop. He was surprised, but it didn’t make him uncomfortable. “Hello, Mr. Xu.”

Oh please, call me Minghao. Nice to see you here alone, my favorite person.”

With giggle Jeonghan started to flirt a bit. On the other hand, Seungkwan was getting nervous every time he does that to people.

Minghao smiled. “It is true. If only I went proposing to you first, I’d call you mine.” A smirk followed.

“You silly.” Jeonghan taking it as a mere joke but to his assistant, it wasn’t. Seungkwan made himself alert nevertheless. “What brings you here?”

Minghao chuckled. “I guess their beautiful collection.” Showing Lancelot’s new catalogue for the next season with mostly Jeonghan’s face on it. “You look perfect, Jeonghan!”

“Thank you.”

“By the way, I am truly sorry for your loss. Did you receive my flowers?”

“Yes. It’s delivered by Wonwoo personally. He’s fun to be with. Now I know why you two get along.”

Minghao frowned. He never felt like that whenever he’s with Wonwoo. How so with Jeonghan? “Is he?”

“Yes. He’s cute!” chuckled.

“Really?” Minghao making a more serious frown and a squint on his eyes in suspicion.

“He’s the sweetest!”

“Wonwoo? My Jeon Wonwoo?”

Jeonghan chuckled. “Yes. I guess his boss and him are both adorable.”

Minghao was flattered but the other compliment was far suspicious. “He got his charms from his master.”

“I could see that.”

“Aigoo. My boss can kill me only with his words. I cannot hear it anymore.” Seungkwan telling himself as he wanted to cover his ears because he knew Jeonghan was just tagging along with Minghao’s fantasies. Well, he’s good at it.

“Will you go to the ramp, darling?”

“Not sure.” Looking at Jun

Jun smiled dearly. “Actually, that’s what I’m about to ask you. I hope you don’t mind?”

“Sure. I’d love to!” answered Jeonghan confidently. “Well, I’m actually here to ask you an X deal as per Seungcheol’s proposal. I think I made him proud with the catalogue you gave him.” Jeonghan chuckled with tease.

Seungkwan, on the other hand, was in disbelief and sighed “What a confidence.”

“How come you never offer an x deal with me, Jeonghan?” asked Minghao a little upset.

“What can you offer me, then? Do you do shows?”

“What do you want, darling? Just tell me and I’ll get it for you.” Offered Minghao confidently.

“I am planning to own a jewelry shop. Haven’t told Seungcheol yet since I had to plan carefully first. Remember when I was so embarrassed the day of our conference? It still annoys me.”

“No need for his assistance… I can be your financer or partner if you like.”

“Great! And what can I offer you?”

“Anything of good service, darling.”

Seungkwan for sure knew that the Chinese mob was more than fascinated about Jeonghan. In fact, that infatuation was kind of a vice already.

“How about, in our next ship, I will build a casino for you. Your choice, your game. Is it good enough?”

Minghao was surprised about the offer. It’s quite tactical and charismatic. “You have such a y brain up there, Jeonghan.” Minghao was liking the offer. “And how would you tell your husband about it?”

“Got an idea. Just need to plot it with my team. Alright? I’ll propose it to you personally.” He smiled.

“Oh. That’s great!” Minghao looking excited.

“I’ll give you a great relaxation as a bonus, my sweet friend.” Added Jeonghan.

“More than okay.”

“Do we have a deal?”

“You don’t need my approval verbally, sweetheart. It’s obvious with my smile.” That’s it! Simple and sweet. He really adored Jeonghan and his heart keeps on letting himself be enslaved by the pretty man without him noticing.

Jun was worried that Jeonghan might have been entering into a new chaos. Though, he wasn’t sure whether he’s just playing or he’s serious with it.

“Will introduce you to the Ivanovs.” Said Minghao.

“I met them last time.”

“I see. They might help us. Their son is my partner. Kael, if you’ve met him. We call him Kai.”

“Yes. I have. That’s interesting. Thank you.”

Jun didn’t know how to react. He didn’t want Jeonghan to reach the Ivanovs because it was quite a dangerous clan to clash with. Whether it’s a legal or illegal negotiations, both are gamble. He cannot assure his fortune and fate with the Russians.

Learning the possible connection, it put Jun to a great pressure. However, one moment, he thought Jeonghan might have been doing this on purpose. It’s like, everything is according to a plan. The way he talk was smooth, not even a single doubt in Jeonghan’s words would have possibly come up in an abrupt conversation like this. From the way he had the conversation with the Chinese Mafia, he was openly and obviously controlling Minghao without him knowing.

Just by then, Jun got the chance to actually excuse Jeonghan for a talk. He invited him for fitting while Minghao was being assisted by another staff.

Jeonghan didn’t know why Jun reacted that way. He was sure he came for a friend and the cookies and a part of Seungcheol’s X deal. He didn’t even ordered anything yet.

Inside a fitting room, Jun dragged things with him as his props. Once both are secured inside, Jeonghan frowned with the haste Jun had to settle inside a small room.

“You are acting weird, Jun. Is there something wrong?”

“Yes. You are trying to enter an unknown business, Jeonghan.”

“Why so? Do you know them?” asked Jeonghan with surprise in his face.

“Xu Minghao is one of my oldest clients, as well as the Ivanovs. I know them more than you think. Just keep the distance, alright?” Jun advised worriedly.

“Can you tell me specifically why?”

“I can’t.” said in frustrations.

“I’m seeing it now. I’ll try not to cause trouble. But I’m sure you know my family is a business oriented one. We need clients and sponsors like him.”

“I know that. Just try to tone down a bit.” At the back of his mind he remembered of the conversation he’s heard from a chip implanted on Jeonghan’s every collar (sometimes inside a lapel or inside big buttons) from his conversation with Seungkwan, as per Seungcheol’s orders.

“If you say so.” Said Jeonghan calmly.

Young Choi Residences_

Jeonghan was surprised when he found out that Seungcheol got home first. He’s surprisingly early. Seungcheol met his wife with a smile, forced, nevertheless it’s the thought that counts. Jeonghan looked so tired, Seungcheol couldn’t just let it pass.

“You okay?”

“I don’t know.” Replied Jeonghan shortly and weakly.

“Would you like me to bring you to the hospital?”

“No need. You are over reacting.”

“If you need anything, just tell me, alright?”

Jeonghan nodded as he went straight to bed.

Seungcheol came along tucking himself beside his partner, embracing him comfortably as he reached for the other’s hand. Seungcheol knew that Jeonghan wasn’t having a very good life with him, but he’s more than thankful that he chose to stay with him. A kiss on his partner’s shoulder as he greeted “Good night, Queen.”

Semi;Colon Bar_ Elite’s Favorite

“Have you decided now, my dear bartender?” approached DK to Jisoo.

“And what can I get in exchange?”

“Freedom. Your secrets are safe with me.” Looking at the old Choi, SeungWon, who’s seen in the bar just a few meters away from his location.

“You’ve been watching me, are you?” Said Jisoo to the smirking Atty. Lee.

“You work for him?” pertaining to the old Choi.

“Not exactly. He’s a regular here, as well as, his sons.” Jisoo defended.

“What does he want from you?” As SeokMin wasn’t buying Jisoo’s words.

“An ordinary inquiry inside the bar, Attorney.”

“Don’t you trust me?” DK suddenly blurted out.

“Honestly, I don’t know.”

“Try me.”

Guess Jisoo was not in the right place to decline offers. He’s busted.

“How do I know?” Jisoo assuring.

“I don’t have biases, my dear.” SeokMin smiled.

“All politicians tell that.” As he sighed heavily.

“Exactly why I am not.” Said DK as he uttered the next words devilishly “Agent Hong Joshua.”

The bartender who turned out to be an undercover agent was alerted.

“Let’s talk about it somewhere. I can be of little help.” Proposed DK.  “The old Choi came to see you.”

Since his true identity was already discovered, there’s no point of hiding anymore. “Fine.” Answered Joshua helplessly.

By the end of the day, Joshua agreed serving Attorney Lee as his driver and assistant to be his new job as an undercover. Jihoon had no idea about it yet, but he’d surely be surprised.

.

.

.

One day, Seokmin met with JaeWon in prison. He gave a document saying “Some are missing, Mr. Yoon. Do you know how to find the others?”

“It’s with my wife. We split it in case something happen… Attorney, I need to protect her at any cost.”

“You cannot, Mr. Yoon. That’s why I am here.” The young attorney said with all the seriousness and he meant it.

JaeWon felt bad but it was true. “I know.” He bowed in regret.

“Jeonghan trusts me with this job. I can protect you if you can just tell everything you know.”

“I’m sorry.” Said JaeWon all of a sudden.

“Stop talking nonsense, Mr. Yoon. I need the information. Let’s not waste time.”

“This is supposed to be for someone but…” handing him a small chip, slightly like an old mechanism which you could view pictures in a so called ‘micro film’ reader to project it.

SeokMin was looking at it. “Alright. Let me check.”

“Atty. Lee.” Called Agent Yoon.

“Call me DK. Let’s quit the formality.”

“Then, once you uncover it. Tell me everything. Let the case go. I’m sure Jeonghan will understand.”

“This is perfect! Don’t worry, I can finish this clean like I always do.”

“I am the one asking you to back out. It’s not that I don’t believe in you but once you know all about this and dig further, you can die. That chip is meant for someone. He’ll come and work on it.”

“Let’s see. Action excites me.” DK smirked.

“The CIA will handle those. It’s not for you, my dear.”

“Oh for sure. I cannot do all the actions. Just hang on Mr. Yoon. I’m still on my road to heroism.”

Phone calls between Na Young and SeungWon_

“Anything for my son’s case, Na Young?” asked SeungWon over the phone.

“I might have something, but this isn’t sufficient to be credited.” Answered Na Young on the other line.

Meanwhile, Se Jong was building hopes although she was warned that finding their son couldn’t guarantee his life. She was walking to and fro as her anxiety kicked once again.

.

.

.

Meanwhile, Seungcheol was with Vernon privately in the car. “Do you have any additional information about my brother?” beside a warehouse somewhere in the road.

“Not yet. I’m sorry. I did my best but seems he knew nothing.”

“Then, let’s go home.” Said Seungcheol in annoyance. “Get your face a good patching when you get home. Jeonghan cannot see that.”

Looking at the fierce man in the front seat, Vernon responded humbly “Yes, boss.”

“I told you not to lay hands as much as possible.”

“My apologies. I can’t keep my knuckles down.”

YOUNG CHOI RESIDENCES_

Jeonghan was on bed when Seungcheol came in the room. Seungcheol was just too glad that he had somebody to go home to. He got into bed, freshly showered as their tradition. Lay beside Jeonghan and embraced him all at once, gently. His partner was too fast and deep asleep that he didn’t notice Seungcheol’s presence. Nevertheless, better not to disturb.

“I’m just so lucky to have you, Jeonghan. I know I’m a burden to you but… I hope you stay.” Kissed Jenghan’s shoulder as he normally does.

.

.

.

On the other hand, Vernon went home seeing Seungkwan’s- for the first time- weary eyes. He seemed uncomfortable and uneasy. In addition, he’s been spacing out that he didn’t notice Vernon home. It’s just the sound of the door locking brought him back to reality. He glanced and regained that smile as he saw Vernon just to be surprised on how the stoic man looked.

“Wha-what happened?” noticing the bruises and blood on the other’s handsome face.

“This is nothing.” Denying the painful things that were physically visible on his face.

“You look terrible!” the other slightly scolded as he finds their first aid kit so he could aid Vernon.

“You go to bed. I’m gonna take my shower.” Commanded the other.

“No. I’ll wait to tend to your wounds. Besides, I haven’t eaten because I am waiting for you.” Said him shyly.

Vernon eating dinner that Seungkwan cooked, just to be polite and not to waste his efforts, seemed so cold once again. Vernon’s mood was quite foul, but he managed to hold his annoyance as he thanked Seungkwan for the meal.

Although scared, Seungkwan felt a lot relief when the other said his gratitude. By the time Vernon finished his shower, Seungkwan was seen seated on the couch ready to cure him. “Come here.”

Vernon heard but tried to ignore.

“Vernon ssi! You can’t see Jeonghan hyung looking like that!” He explained as an excuse.

“He will not see me until my wound heals.”

Seungkwan rolled his eyes and murmured. “What a prideful man.” He had no choice but to bring the medical kit with him, so he can go closer to Vernon instead of vice versa.

“I said I don’t need that.”

“You just have to calm down, Vernon-ssi. This won’t hurt if that’s what you are worried about.” Seungkwan teased.

Vernon sat down because Seungkwan forced to. Vernon did not move a single muscle. Not even a flinch.

“Geez, are you a robot? It’s done now.” Wrapping his things up. “Good night.”

.

.

.

The following morning, when Seungkwan fetched his boss, he immediately handed over the box with jewelry inside it. “Hyung, I am right. It is definitely for you.” Seungkwan smiled. “There’s a letter attached at the bottom with your name on it.”

Jeonghan opened it. He expected what was inside. He was not wrong when he thought of it as a ring. Jeonghan smiled and felt guilty at the same time. He really wanted to find him alive “He’s so silly.” Recalling how many times Jeonghan tried to reject him. Was he now contemplating? If he had tried to be in a relationship with him, would he be alive and well today? Was there any changes in their lives right now? He’s missing Minhyuk every single day since he’s gone.

“Seungkwanie, don’t tell Seungcheol about this.”

“You can count on me.”

“Have you seen Vernon? Is he not with you?”

“He will come late.”

Meanwhile, Seungcheol went to a party which requires his presence, since he’s the next in line with their brotherhood called SEONBI. He didn’t want it, but they need their protection. Seonbi was a fraternity of notable people in the country. Politicians, business men, lawyers and doctors tied into that family. Right now, they held the crown. It’s just that you had to fight for it. You have to make people recognize you as their boss.

It’s his first time going to that party after a long time. Usually, it’s Minhyuk who goes in this kind of party. But since his brother was gone, he’s the next in line to lead.

It just surprised him to see Kim Mingyu and Yoon Na Young, Jeonghan’s mother, in the crowd. He didn’t expect them to be there, unless his parents invited them.

As soon as he saw them, he approached and greeted in an unusual way. “Did father invite you, Judge Yoon?”

Na Young smiled. “Son, I am always attending. You don’t have to worry. I am a part of this family.” Now, there might be reason why his father chose Jeonghan to be his partner, but that’s not enough.

“Do they know?” pertaining to both their sons, including Jeonghan.

Na Young chuckled. “Of course, honey. I am the daughter of the old Park, a friend of your mother’s father. Song.”

Seungcheol was surprised. Now, he wondered if the two know each other from the start. However, Na Young told him that she didn’t come every time just like Se Jong when they were younger.

“You don’t have to worry about me. How’s my Jeonghan?”

Seungcheol was relieved and smiled. “I see. He’s doing fine.”

“And you? You look pale.”

“Really?” Seungcheol smiled. “Cannot sleep much.”

“I know you have more important people to attend to. Go ahead, I will meet someone my age.” She laughed realizing how old she’d become. It’s like a little reunion for most of the old ones, and business for the younger ones.

Mingyu met Seungcheol half way “First time seeing you here.”

“It has always been my brother.”

“I know that. He’s a good leader and I expect a lot from you.”

“You know him?”

“Well, yes. As a former colleague and a friend.”

“He never mentioned a-“ realizing that Minhyuk wasn’t the kind of person to talk every detail of his day. Besides, he never asks. “I see. That’s- good to know.”

Seungcheol was hesitating to ask further, but his guts was telling him that he should. “I’m sorry. I’ve never been this curious about this matter, but perhaps you know him quite well.”

“It’s the first time I see you curious, Seungcheol.” The taller man teased. “If there’s an answer from me about your curiosity, then ask me about it.”

“My brother.” Seungcheol started with hesitation.

“What about him?” asked the younger yet taller one.

“When did you last see him?”

Mingyu paused for a bit. He was thinking thoroughly the exact time and day they met. “About a week before he went missing.”

“Missing?” asked Seungcheol because from what he knew, people know that his brother was dead. They were in the burial set up for Minhyuk.

“This might tackle quite a sensitive matter, Seungcheol. See me when you have time.” Mingyu advised and then became serious about a second after. “I have something to ask from you as well.”

.

.

.

Seungkwan ran errands. He’s delivering from here and there. He’s got appointments with people and had jobs to do. Seungkwan definitely called Jun’s attention now. He followed him whenever he could. One time, he saw the boy talking to a man, Jun couldn’t recognize at all. Something was blocking the face. Moreover, he couldn’t listen yet as he hasn’t placed any chip on his clothing.

Looking from a far, Seungkwan was given a folder, now he had to make sure that it wasn’t some kind of threat within the Choi. He just gave a heads up to Seungcheol in case.

“Be careful with your new assistant.”

Seungcheol became alerted and asked Vernon to follow him wherever he goes. Meanwhile, Seungcheol was scheduled to meet Congressman Kim Mingyu alone for the first time.

Inside a restaurant_

“This is weird.” Called the younger.

“It is.”

“I kept this for a long time.” Giving a small notebook to the cold man in front of him. “That is Minhyuk’s. I haven’t opened it yet. You can keep that and you might not want it to be handed to the wrong person.”

“How come you have this?” Seungcheol was a bit disappointed that Minhyuk didn’t trust him with that kind of thing, instead, he gave it to someone else he’s never heard of as his friend.

“Minhyuk was cautious about that data. Handle it with care. I am actually hesitating to give that to you but you seem to know something now. Just be careful, you don’t know yet what exactly you are dealing with.”

“You knew?” asked Seungcheol in surprise.

“He mentioned a few and a few to trust. I know how big it is, and based on the things happening, you are doing the same thing your brother has done.”

Seungcheol still looking to the information on his hands, he couldn’t decipher immediately, Mingyu further explained. “But it doesn’t say who did this to your brother.”

“To be honest, I’ve been searching for answers but I always end up to nothing.” Sighed Seungcheol.

“Whoever did this, he’s quite a clean person, Seungcheol. You should be careful with the people coming and going in your life.”

“I know. Thank you for this. And what can I do for you?”

“It’s about my wife.”

“EunWoo?”

“You know him well better than what I knew about him.”

“I smell suspicions right there.”

“Why didn’t you marry him?”

“So, you are jealous of me. Am I reading it right?” Seungcheol chuckled as he drank a glass of martini. “I married the love of my life, Mingyu. You don’t have to worry about that.”

“Not thinking of that much.”

That was the time, Seungcheol got interested. “What is this all about?”

“It’s related to your brother actually.”

“Are you telling me there’s something be-“ in Seungcheol’s thought, he might be reading wrong, but Mingyu wasn’t an ordinary man either.

“He’s keeping something from me.” Said Mingyu.

All Seungcheol knew that Mingyu was a good example of a good politician. Not with strategy but dedication. He’s a good man, but a good man always are the scariest person to anger. He should be careful of what to say. “Everyone has a secret, Mingyu. Tell me what’s bothering you about EunWoo. I might help.”

“I don’t know. He’s, he’s too perfect.” In a worrisome manner Mingyu claimed.

“It’s scary, isn’t it?” he teased. “I know how you feel.”

“You are supposed to get engaged, but you declined.”

“It’s true. But I need spicy not sweet, my dear Mingyu.”

“I need the reason why, Seungcheol. There’s got to be something.”

Since Mingyu was serious about it, Seungcheol couldn’t help but to give a hint just to even the favor he’s got from him. “I knew EunWoo since he’s a kid. I am telling you, he’s not perfect at all. He’s smart but too ambitious. That’s what his downfall’s going to be.”

“I don’t know if I call the right person to consult this, I know EunWoo likes you more than you expect him to love a friend.”

“We’ve known each other for so long now, that’s why. Don’t worry, I’ll find things out. But I am telling you, this is not going to be easy, Congressman Kim.”

“Neither of us wouldn’t get out of this sooner, would we?”

Seungcheol toasted. “I agree.”

“Now, you need to be careful. All I know is Minhyuk played a card that nobody wants to.”

“I will take note of that. Thanks!”

.

.

.

On the other part of Seoul there’s a home, inside its elegant designed room, there’s a man sleeping in coma.

“How are you feeling, my friend?” a mysterious tone of a man bringing him some food in case, he’d wake up.

“I ordered these.” Presenting two sets of udon with a bottle of beer. “I passed through a restaurant while going here and thought it’d be great if I bought these for dinner.” He started eating. “You know, you’ve been missing too much, bro.”

The man kept talking even if the only thing that could answer him was the respiratory machine attached on the man’s body when all of a sudden, he heard a deep breathe coming from the man on the bed. It surprised the care taker and uttered “Minhyuk! Hang in there, buddy.”

“The swan-“ The first thing that Minhyuk uttered despite his difficulty in breathing “The swan brooch. Where is it?”

The man remembered it seeing in his pockets when he rescued him from his critical situation. “It’s with me. What do you want me to do?”

“I need you to send it to someone.”

“Now?”

Minhyuk nodded and added “Please. I need you to call someone”

.

.

.

Jeonghan was then, at that time, by the port inside a cruise ship for a meeting.

“Hello, Mr. Wang! It’s nice to finally meet you.” Greeted Jeonghan in their dinner table.

“Pleasure to meet you again, Jeonghan. Thank you for inviting me to have this dinner with you.”

“My pleasure, Mr. Wang.” Asking their servants to serve for their dinner. “I think we should enjoy talking with the food.”

“Your call.”

“So, Mr. Wang, the boring side of the meeting first, shall we?” Jeonghan giggled. “About the business. Have you read my proposals?”

“Of course, my dear. It’s lovely! I like it. Although, I’d like to make some proposal for adjustments.”

“That will be heard.”

They enjoyed the dinner just like of two friends. They talked as much as they wanted. Teasing and laughing, they forgot about the time.

Mr. Wang wanted something Jeonghan could only provide. Same goes for Jeonghan. The agreement was quite big. Jackson Wang wants revenge towards the Xu. Jeonghan was in charge of it, in exchange, of the supply he demanded from the other including the chips and automobiles.

“For our victory.” Declared Jeonghan as he raised a glass of wine.

“Toast to that!” answered Jackson.

Jeonghan was planning of proposing the new business ventures to Seungcheol and to the other shareholders, including Minghao, to insult him. He will drag all the families if he needed to. His dream was stolen from him and now, it was time to move. No holding back.

Meanwhile, Seungkwan was getting prepared as he saw Jeonghan closing the deal. He went down to get the car, so if in case, Jeonghan was ready he’d be there right in front of the ship to fetch him.

Getting ready to turn on the engine as he arranged his seat belt safely, one knocked through the window dressed like a barter asking for the parking tickets. As to comply, Seungkwan got the tickets, opened the window and one moment he was attacked with a white handkerchief on his face until he passed out. The suspicious man pulled the poor assistant off the car and wrapped him with tape and ropes and carried him at the back of a car.

“Sorry, but I have to borrow this car with your boss for a while.” A smirk he put on his face as he dumped Seungkwan inside a trunk.

The man immediately came and fetched Jeonghan without even getting noticed.

“Good evening Vice President Choi.” A low toned voice was heard instead of a high and jolly one.

Jeonghan was surprised hearing another voice other than the one he used to hear. He looked on the driver’s seat and saw neither Seungkwan nor Vernon with eyes of such in great surprise.

“We need to take a little tour out there.”

“You?... Where is Seungkwan?”

“Calm down, Vice President Choi, you’ll see him in a while.” With a smirk, the man drove fast and far out of the normal way Jeonghan usually takes to get home.
