Ch 41

The Adventures of Moon Eun Jung

Ice was one problem resolved, two if you add Tao. Taek Gu was problem number three. I thought I had managed to calm down, but as soon as I see Taek Gu I want to duck and cover. I can't go around avoiding Taek Gu like I did with Tao beause Taek Gu now knows how I act like when I like someone. Telling him about being rejected by Tao is coming back to bite me.

"Looks like you're over Tao, no hiding anymore?" Taek Gu jokes. Actnormalactnormalactnormal is my new mantra. I managed to dull my beating heart by staying up all night watching anime. Tired and sleepy, I have been walking around half awake for about a week now.  "Um, yeah, I get over things pretty fast," I answer Taek Gu. Seeing Kai in the hallway I call out,"Hey Kai! Have you seen that new anime yet?"  He shakes his head, "Which one are you talking about?"

During lunch, to everyone's shock Ice plops himself down beside me. "What is he doing here?" Luhan growls. Ice pretends to look shocked, "Eun Jung didn't tell you?"   "Tell us what?" Tao asks.  Ice jerks my ponytail. I give him a scowl, "We're friends now."   "What!" everyone at the table exclaims. Some of the students in the cafeteria turn to stare at us.

"You mean you're dating now?" Haru gasps with delight. "No!" Ice and I reply in unison.

"We're friends," I clarify.  "What's so likeable about her anyways?" Ice adds, poking me in the head.  "Uh, huh," says Haru, but she obviously didn't believe us.   "I thought you didn't like Ice," says Na Hee, "why the sudden change?"  I wasn't sure how I was going to explain this, "Um---"                   "Eun Jung told me everything about your little adventure to another world," Ice explains instead. "She told me about the other me. It cleared up a few misunderstandings I had with her."

"I still don't trust you, especially what you did to Na Hee and Eun Jung," Luhan says menacingly.  "You don't have to trust me," Ice returns, "I'm Eun Jung's friend, not yours."  Na Hee places a hand on Luhan's arm, "Just let it go Luhan, it happened a while back. If Eun Jung can forgive him, so can we."   Well, I couldn't let them misunderstand so I spoke up, "Actually, I never had anything against Ice. I don't even blame Ice for hurting me. You getting hurt by Ice, I don't forgive that, but yeah I really don't have anything against him. I didn't like him because he was annoying me. That's all."   "Sometimes I don't understand you," Chen says. Ice smirks in triumph.

"Whoa!" Tao grabs my arm, jerking me back. I blink rapidly, "Huh? What happened?"  "You almost hit the wall," he answers. Tao looks at me with concern, "Are you sick?"  I rub my eyes, "No, I just stayed up late watching anime."  "You should stop watching so late," Tao says, "you don't want to hit a wall next time."  I nod, "Um, yeah. I'll try."

Pushing my bike down the steep hill on my way home, Taek Gu catches up to me. "You're acting weird Eun Jung," he states. Who do you think is making me act weird? "Really? I'm pretty sure I'm acting normal," I reply.

"Friends with Ice?" Taek Gu points out.  "I worked that situation out," I answer. Would he please go away? I want to quickly get home so I can sleep. Today in class I nearly smashed my head open on my desk, if not for an icy blast of air from Ice, I would have a lump on my forehead right now.  "You're sleepy all the time," Taek Gu adds.  And you're the reason why.

I don't reply to his inquiry. We walk in silence for a few seconds when Taek Gu speaks again, "It's not Tao, you're normal around him now. You say it isn't Ice...Eun Jung, do you have another guy you like?"  Bingo! Taek Gu's guess hits home. My sleepy heart suddenly speeds up. Oh no! What if I'm caught?

I keep walking like normal showing no reaction to his question. "No," I sigh, " I found a new anime and it's so good I'm obssessed with it."  "Otaku," Taek Gu mutters.  "Since you're losing so much sleep watching anime I better walk you home. I have a feeling you'll get into an accident if no one watches you. You're a walking zombie."  I'm suddenly wide awake. "No thank you. I'll just ride my bike. Excersizing will wake me up!"

Taek Gu grabs my bike, "I'm right, you do have a guy!"  Had Taek Gu always been this intuitive?

"Is it D.O.?" Taek Gu guesses. I'm suddenly angry. How long was this going to keep going? Why does this keep happening?

I kick my bike, letting it drop to the ground with a clatter. Taek Gu stares at me in shock. "Shut up!" I yell at him. "I don't like anyone! First Haru and now you! Why do you guys keep pestering me about it? Do I always have to like someone? Why do you guys care so much? It's my life, so just shut the up and leave me alone!" I wipe away the angry tears as I glare at Taek Gu. Picking up my bike, I get on and pedal away.

Chapter 51: I have to say, it ended rather abruptly? Like it just came out of nowhere...

But other than that, this fic is good and I was really enjoying it!
