"Yes... we are, Angel."
"Isn't it beautiful?"
"It is... very. Just like you."
"And the fact that your room's all glowing in the evening sky..."
"Evening sky... Speaking of which, you haven't seen the Castle's tower yet, have you?"
And he stopped in their step and took her hand.
He knew it was breaking curfew, but who cared? He was a child again today. And that meant breaking the rules. Breaking the rules with his Kara. It was thrilling. And it was fun. And it was risky. But it meant that if they got into trouble, they would do it together.
So he led her out of the room, and they crept down the grand halls, through the winding corridors, and tiptoed lightly up the marble stairs of the great castle. They scurried past the maids, ducked behind the butlers and past the bedrooms of the sleeping adults.

What did this wing of the mansion hide? What was so dangerous, private, secretive?
The heavy oak door creaked open and Kara flinched at the noise.
"It's okay, Princess. Trust me. Take my hand, follow me. It'll be completely worth it."
Kara was unsure. She was often afraid of the dark. Her imagination was quite a wild and creative one. But then again, she remembered it wasn't her mind she should trust. For the mind could be disillusioned, threatening, scary, overly-powerful, controlling and manipulative. And then again, she realised Kai was just tying up another knot onto the string of lessons she was holding on to. He was tying on the lesson of trust. She had to trust Kai. And she did. What her mind had been doing, was putting her into a disillusioned, confused state. Kai would never hurt her! But her mind had gone and taken advantage of her fear of the dark, and twisted and turned it and made her block out the light that shone fro
