They'd gotten back only an hour later, soaking wet. "What were you two thinking?" Mrs Kim had reprimanded when she saw them playing around out in the open. She'd wished, of course to see them continue. As a mother, she'd always regretted the years she couldn't spend with her only son and his happiness meant the world to her. However, concerned they would catch a cold, she'd called them back in. "Kara, dear, you can stay the night. It's a school day tomorrow and we wouldn't want you sleeping late. I'll have the maids get you some clothes. Why don't you go freshen up first? Toilet's upstairs on the left. But I'm sure you don't need directing. Meanwhile, let me deal with this boy....."
"No Mrs Kim, it wasn't-"
"I know dear. I'm just kidding. Hurry along now!"
Kara chuckled as she hurried up the grand marble stairs, her hands gliding along the smooth golden railings.
When she was out of sight, Mrs Kim turned to face her son. "Well, someone must be happy."
"Oh,mom...You don't know how happy I am."
"What was the weapon you used to capture her heart? I heard all about the incident with her Aunt, as well as JongSuk's many flings."
"There wasn't anything... There wasn't any gift, or bribe.... It was just.... Me. All this time, all she wanted was... Me. In the simplest way."
"So I assume you will proceed with your marriage then?"
"Yeah. I will. I definitely will."
"Ah, young love. Your father and I were once as crazy in love as you were. But you're a lucky man Kai. I know Kara is a unique woman. One of the best around."
"One of? She is the best mom. She is the best woman in the world. She's the most talented, beautiful, amazing girl in the world. And I'm the luckiest man. She's just perfect for me."
Kai lay back on the grand fuschia sofa, still in a daze. He wasn't dreaming right?
"I absolutely agree with you, Son. And I'm so happy that you've found someone like her."
Her son had found his match. She was sure of it.
