[The next day]

Jiyeon POV

Eunjung came to my apartment early in the morning and we went out for shopping.

There was going to be a party at Soyeon unni’s house later and she told Eunjung to take me out for the day as she got ready.

We were eating lunch in a café when Eunjung sighed and said, “I can’t believe we’ll be graduating high school soon…”

Right…I’m turning 19…so we’ll be graduating in a month, I totally forgot.

Joon left right before we graduated…

“Have you chosen which university you want to go to? Let’s apply for the same one? I was thinking about Seoul Arts University!” Eunjung said excitedly and I replied, “I was thinking about that university too!” and we laughed.

Finally, we went to Soyeon unni’s house and everything was ready, but the guests had not arrived yet.

I smiled at Hyosung who was helping with the final decorations and looked at Seungho and Soyeon in the kitchen laughing blissfully.

“They’re perfect...aren’t they?” I whispered to Eunjung and she nodded.

Guests started pouring in 30 minutes later and I recognized everyone from school when Junhyung and Dongwoon stepped into the house.

His hand was no longer in a cast and he smiled at me.

I was shocked at first, but smiled back.

“I hope you don’t mind that I invited them?” Soyeon unni whispered to me but I just shook my head.

I wasn’t in the mood to party so I took a drink and went to the balcony alone.

“What’s the birthday girl doing alone?” a voice said behind me and I turned around to face a smiling Junhyung.

“I’m just not in the mood to party…” I replied.

“I heard about everything…you know…that day when he saved me, he told me to take care of you…I should have known he was going to leave…I’m sorry…” he apologized.

“No, it’s not your fault…It’s no one’s fault but mine. He left because of me.” I said softly.

Junhyung POV

Looking at Jiyeon who looked so depressed, I wished I could do something for her, but I knew that the only one who could bring her spirits up was Lee Joon.

I know he was forced to leave, but he can’t do this to Jiyeon…

He should know that with Jiyeon’s strong will power, she would never stop waiting for him…and what if he never comes back?

He may have told me to take care of Jiyeon before he left, but what’s the point if the person Jiyeon needs isn’t me?

At that moment Soyeon came in and told us that Jiyeon was to cut the cake now…

Jiyeon POV

Everyone was singing happy birthday to me and I tried to force out a smile on my face, as I didn’t want to ruin the bubbly mood.

Finally, everyone told me to make a wish and I put my hands together and closed my eyes.

Ever since I was with Joon, for 2 years I have wished the same wish on my birthday…and even though he’s not by my side right now…I will still wish that same wish.

I wish that Lee Joon and I can be together forever…

I wished and opened my eyes and blew out the candles.

Everyone started clapping and I cut the cake and everyone was chatting happily as they ate the cake.

I really hope that this time next year, Joon would be by my side…

[Two years later]

Jiyeon POV

I watched everyone eating my birthday cake happily…

It’s been two years…

I’ve been wishing the same wish every birthday…

But… where is he?
