JIYEON POV

[PRESENT DAY]

I the promise ring on my engagement finger.

Lee Joon had given this to me on our 1^st anniversary.

I’ll never forget the day he told me he loved me.

It was snowing and I was freezing waiting for him in the cold.

“Ya! Why did you ask me to meet you here out in the cold? I’m freezing!” I complained as soon as I saw him.

He just came and stood before me smiling like an idiot.

“What are you smiling about? Are you cr…” I said when I got cut off as he kissed me on the mouth.

My eyes went wide open and I still haven’t recovered from shock when he let me go.

“I love you.” He had said.

He had promised to always be there for me, to love me, to be by my side forever.

But now, where was he when I needed him the most?

I was so hurt.

I wanted to cry out all my pain, but my eyes were so tired of crying.

I had cried nonstop for 3 days and I had no more tears.

I did not go to school for 2 days already and I knew I would have to go tomorrow.

Was I ready to face him again?

No, I thought.

But, I had to.

I couldn’t run away forever…

[THE NEXT DAY]

JIYEON POV

I did not want to go to school this morning when I woke up, but I forced myself to.

As I walked to school, I just hope I won’t break down in front of everyone…

Lee Joon POV

It had been 3 days since I saw Jiyeon and she didn’t come to school on Monday and Tuesday.

I started to doubt if what I did was right.

I shouldn’t hurt her that way, I thought.

I was about to call her when Hyosung walked towards me.

“Oppa~ I heard you broke up with Jiyeon, are you okay?” she said.

I smiled and said I was fine.

Hyosung POV

It had been 2 days since Jiyeon has not come to school.

I was elated.

Finally, I had a chance to be with Lee Joon.

Now they are not together anymore, no one can accuse me of trying to break a couple up, I thought, smiling slyly.

“Hyosung ah, I think you have a very good chance of getting Lee Joon!” Jieun said.

“Yeah!” Sunhwa agreed.

I smiled and looked at them, “Of course. Now that girl is out of the way, no one can stop me.”

I was talking to Lee Joon when all of a sudden the whole class was silent.

I looked up to see what happened when I spotted Jiyeon walking into the class.

I smirked at her while she stared at me blankly.

Lee Joon POV

After 3 days, Jiyeon looked as if she lost a lot of weight.

She had bags under her eyes and wore big glasses to cover up her swollen eyes.

I wanted to go ask her if she was alright, but I knew I no longer had the right to do that.

JIYEON POV

I walked into the classroom slowly, hoping no one would notice me, but that was not possible.

The minute I stepped into the classroom, everyone went quiet and pointed at me whispering amongst them.

I spotted Lee Joon, looking at me with Hyosung at his side.

I should have known.

Hyosung had liked Lee Joon since the day he came into the school.

Of course she would take this opportunity to get close to him.

And Lee Joon, being the stupid kind person he is, would let her.

She smirked at me as if to show that she was now of a higher status than me.

I looked away and walked quietly to my seat.
