Narrator POV

One month passed by, and Jiyeon was a changed person.

Her hair by now had grown passed her shoulders but she has decided not to chop off her locks anymore.

She was back to the old Jiyeon.

The strong willed girl who will not get beaten down by anyone.

Eunjung is marveled but at the same time excited about Jiyeon’s change.

It means Jiyeon will no longer let anyone bully her anymore.

Even Hyosung tries to stay as far away as possible.

Lee Joon on the other hand, is only watching silently at Jiyeon’s change, his mind full of questions, but not able to get any answers he wants.

Jiyeon POV

Everyone has seemed to have noticed my change by now…

I feel so much more free and relaxed; I missed being who I am.

I smiled at Hyosung.

You don’t scare me anymore, I thought.

As for Lee Joon, I don’t need you any longer.

The memories we had may still linger in my thoughts, but I have grown stronger, and will not wait like a fool for you to turn back.

Thank you, Seunghun oppa…I thought in my heart.

[FLASHBACK, one month ago]

Jiyeon was walking along the street back home after her morning shift when she noticed someone outside her door.

She took out the earphones from her ears slowly.

She couldn’t see the person’s face but could tell that it was a guy.

Is it a robber or something? She thought.

That’s when the guy moved a little and she caught a glimpse of his profile.

That handsome, angel like face…could it be… Seunghun opppa?!

She immediately ran over and hugged him from the back.

The guy turned around abruptly, but a smile formed on his face as he saw Jiyeon.

“Jiyeon ah.” He said sweetly.

“Oppa! When did you come back? Why are you here?” Jiyeon started bombarding him with a bunch of questions when she noticed him scratching the back of his head and looking at the door.

“Aren’t you going to invite me in huh?” he said.

“Oh! I’m so sorry oppa, let’s go in then~” Jiyeon said and they went in and Seunghun sat down on the sofa.

She got them both a glass of water and sat down next to him.

“Well, I just came back for a holiday Jiyeon ah, just to come see you, I heard about what happened in this past month, I came to check on you.” He said.

Seunghun is Jiyeon’s older cousin and they had grown up together from young and he treats Jiyeon just like his real sister. They were very close, but Seunghun left for the States with his family when they graduated from secondary school and from then, they couldn’t meet up often but their relationship still remained strong. He always had updates about her life when he was in States these few years, but recently Jiyeon seemed to have disappeared and out of worry, he had contacted Eunjung and finding out about everything, he wanted to rush back as quick as possible to Korea, but he could only make spare time out now.

“Why don’t you come back?” Jiyeon said and pouted.

“Well dad and mum like it there… but I think we’ll come back after I graduated from university in a year’s time…” he replied.

“Really? I’ll be waiting!” Jiyeon said happily.

Seunghun grabbed her arm.

“Jiyeon ah, are you really okay? You can fool other people, but you can’t fool me. I know you’re still hurting inside…” he said softly.

“Oppa, why must we talk about these kinds of things when you just came back? We can chat later or something, but now, we should go and play!” Jiyeon said and pulled Seunghun up.

“Where are we going?” he said.

“You’ll see when we reach there!” Jiyeon said and they left.
