Chapter 36

Eyes, the window to the soul

Dara's POV

"I seriously can't believe she made us shred all of that paper! It wasn't even anything important!" I complained as Jiyong and I finally left the university. We had just spent the last 3 hours shredding paper on the most pathetic tiniest shredder in the whole world. I could probably cut faster than that damn machine.

"Correction. She made me shred all the paper. You didn't have to help me you know," Jiyong said as he looked at me in amusement.

"Ugh! Whatever, you should be more grateful! If it wasn't for me... you'd still be in there!"

"Okay, okay. I'll treat you to ice cream later hmm?" Jiyong conceeded as he opened the door for me to get into his car.

"ICE CREAM!" I shouted in delight as I belted myelf up.

"Are we going now?!" I said giddily at the thought of icecream when I noticed he wasn't taking us back to the apartment.

"I'll buy you icecream later, right now we need to sort out your apartment lock and key." He replied as he took a left turn.

"Jiyooooong!" I whined, "Is it really necessary?!"

"Yes it is necessary, it won't take that long." he said as he let go off the steering wheel for a second to poke my cheek.

"I don't even think there will be any locksmiths still working at this time! Can't we just do it tomorrow?" I pleaded with him.

"No. It has to be done today. I'll just buy the locks and keys and do it myself." Jiyong said adamantly as he parked his car up, "You stay here and lock the door from the inside. I'll be back in a second."

I pouted in my seat as I watched Jiyong walk into a store to buy the lock and keys. 'Hmm, he looks good from the back...' I thought subconsciously.

== At the apartment ==

"Do you even know how to do this?" I asked him doubtfully. Jiyong had dropped me off after buying the locks and had gone to retrieve his tools from his apartment before coming back. I didn't even know someone of his age would have these kind of tools.

"Tch! Of course I know! Are you doubting me?!" he asked, offended that I had even doubted him for a second.

"Well you don't seem like the handy-man kind of type," I replied nonchalantly as I watched him take off his jacket.

I sat sideways on the sofa so I could watch him do his work. It wasn't like I had anything else to do anyway. Bom said that she had gone off to do some sort of preparations for her 'bake Seunghyun a cake' mission whilst CL had gone out for a meal with some of her classmates.

"Hey... why did you buy one that comes with four keys? We only need 3!" I asked as I looked at the lock and keys he'd bought.

"Well I can't exactly ask the shop keeper if I could take a key out could I?" Jiyong said as he rolled his eyes, "They came in twos and fours."

"It's cold..." I whined before getting up to turn the heating on before returning to sit on the sofa, grabbing Jiyong's jacket and wrapping it around me.

"You know, you use that jacket more than me. You may as well have it," Jiyong said playfully as he grabbed the drill and began to drill into the door.

"You said it. Don't come crying to me when you want it back. It's mine now!" I said jokingly, although I knew I secretly wouldn't mind having his jacket. I always got a warm sense of security whenever I wore it, not to mention it smelt nice.

I continued to watch Jiyong diligently work on the old lock on the door, removing it before he could place the new one on. I would occasionally ask him questions about the tools he was using and was pleasantly surprised to find he actually did know what he was doing.

I heard my phone vibrate in my bag and turned around to reach for it, unlocking my phone to read the text.

"Hey Ji, Bommie says she won't be back till later and that we should eat without he--" I paused, my eyes nearly falling out of my sockets at the site before me.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" I bellowed in outrage as I watched Jiyong take his shirt off.

"What? You turned the heating on. It's hot, this work is very laborous you know," Jiyong replied shrugging, a boyish smirk on his face as he threw his shirt on to my face.

"W- I- H-.." I stuttered as I picked his shirt off of my face, "I don't care if it's hot! Put your clothes back on!"

"Nah... i'd rather not," Jiyong responded, not even bothering to turn to look at me as he got back to work on the lock, "It's not like you haven't seen me topless before anyway."

"T-That's not the point! The point is you should learn to wear clothes like a normal person!" I exclaimed, "What is it with you and not liking clothes? Do you have an aversion to them or something? Are you allergic to them? Do you just strip off all the time or something?!"

Jiyong glanced back to smirk at me, raising one of his eyebrows, "Why? Jealous?"

"W-WHAT?! NO!" I exploded, faster than the speed of light.

Jiyong's smirk grew as he eyed me, "Hmm.. you sure about that?"

"YES! Of course I'm sure! Tch! I don't care who you show your body too!" I said defensively as I turned my head to the side not wanting to look at him in his half- glory-- I mean half- disgusting-ness.

"If you say so Dara," I could hear the smile in his voice, "Just for the record though, you are the only one to have laid eyes on this." I heard the sound of him patting his chest, "So no need to be jealous yeah?" he continued teasingly.

"I'm NOT jealous!" I denied, but I couldn't help but feel a bit giddy at the fact that I was the only girl to have ever seen Jiyong half-. Tehehehe. Sandara Park, the only girl to have ever seen Kwon Jiyong half-! 'AND the only girl to have slept in the arms of a half- Kwon Jiyong too!' my subconscious piped in.

I bit my lip slightly and kept my eyes away for a full 5 minuts before curiosity got the better of me. I mean you know.. I uh.. really want to know... how to uh... fit a lock. For future references ya know... For no other reason!

I slowly turned my head back, my eyes landing on Jiyong's back as he had his back to me whilst fitting the new lock. This wasn't the first time seeing Jiyong half- but the other times I was too freaked out to pay much attention. My earlier observation was correct. He did look good from the back. My eyes scanned over his strong broad shoulders, which lead to his small tight waist, his back muscles rippling slightly as he drilled in one of the screws.

'Turn around.. turn around..' the erted part of my mind spoke. Okay lets be honest, even the non-erted part of my mind was chanting those two words too. As if hearing, Jiyong turned around frowning as he looked for the other screw on the floor. I let out a small gasp as I studied his front. Jiyong wasn't the most muscular man, but he was most definitely lean and had a well built chest. There was also the subtle but visible making of abs, it wasn't noticeable upon first glance, but from my constant staring my careful observation I could definitely make out some abs. Damn. Jiyong grew up to be hot. How I hate that. 'Don't lie, you love it.' my mind refuted.

My eyes reluctantly moved away from his abs to study his face. His handsome face was set into a frown which showed deep concentration as he bit his lip looking down at two screws, probably contemplating which to use. At the corner of my eye I spotted the movement of a small droplet of perpiration. I watched as it slid it's way down his cheek and was now making it's way down his neck, gliding over the bite on his neck before making it's way down his body. 'You wish you were that droplet. Don't you?' my erted mind teased me. I shook my head slightly in denial but even I couldn't deny how y Jiyong looked right now. I would usually be grossed out by the fact that he was sweating but.. let me introduce you to this new mathematical equation that should be taught in schools:

Half- Jiyong + Glistening in Sweat + Tools = y Handy-man Jiyong.

That's the sort of equation I like.

"You know, if you take a picture it lasts longer," I heard Jiyong tease. My face immediately heated up as I looked up to meet Jiyong's playful eyes.

"Pffft! W-why would I want to take a picture of you?! Your body isn't that impressive," I said in denial.

"Oh.. but it is impressive huh?" Jiyong said as he crossed his arms across his chest.

"N-NO! That's not what I meant! It's not impressive at all!" I quickly corrected.

"Really? Then why is it that you're blushing hmm?" Jiyong said as he strided over to brush my heated cheek with the back of his hand.

I quickly slapped his hand away, covering my cheeks with my own hands, "I'm not blushing! Like you said, it's really hot in here!"

"Really? Is it me that is making it hot in here?" Jiyong said as he leaned down, his body dangerously close to mine.

"YES!" I blurted in panic before slapping a hand over my mouth, "I MEAN NO!"

Jiyong smirked as he leaned in closer. Damn. He smells so good right now...

"Jiyong, you're sweaty go away!" I whined as my hands automatically came up to land on his strong chest, pushing him away from me.

"All you had to do was say Dara, no need to grab at the opportunity to me," Jiyong teased as he straightened up his arms coming up to protect his chest, as he pretended to be scandalised.

"Pfft! Why would I want to touch you! Look! Now my hands are all covered in your sweat! Eww!" I said in disgust as I held my hands out, as far away from me as possible.

"Don't act all innocent Dara," Jiyong said as he wriggled his eyebrows up and down.

"Tch! Stop giving me that look! I am innocent! I didn't ask you to strip!" I said defensively.

"You didn't seem to mind thought... especially when you were drooling over me," Jiyong continued to taunt.

"FOR THE BILLIONTH TIME! I DO NOT DROOL!" I exploded standing up to glare at him.

"Arasso, calm down angry bunny," Jiyong chuckled as he ruffled my hair, "The lock is done now. It's as good as new!"

"Took you long enough!" I complained as I walked over to the kitchen to wash my hands off of Jiyong's sweat.

"You weren't complaining when you were eyeing me like candy..." I heard Jiyong mutter.

I shot him a glare as he sent me an innocent look. Tch! As if I believe that.

"I'll be back over later, i'm just going to take a shower," Jiyong said as he made his way towards the door.

"YAH! Aren't you going to put your shirt back on?!" I exclaimed, running up to him with my wet hands when I saw him about to leave half-.

Jiyong looked down and blinked as if only just realising he was still topless before looking at me with a smirk, "Why? Jealous someone is going to see me?"

"Pfft! You wish! I don't want you scaring some halmeoni's or ahjumma's if they see you walking around half-! I'm thinking about the poor citizens!" I lied as I threw him his shirt.

"Rightttttt, if you say so. I'll see you later," Jiyong said before opening the door, "Oh, I left the new keys on the coffee table, here's your key." He said as he threw me the new key, giving me a wink before leaving.

Tch! This guy... What was with all the teasing?!

== 1 hour later ==

I was sat on the sofa aimlessly flicking through the TV channels whilst pouting as I glanced at the clock. It had been a whole hour! Showering doesn't take an hour! I want my ice cream! If he doesn't give me my ice cream tonight he is going to be in so much trouble!

/knock knock/

"ICE CREAM!" I shouted as I ran towards the door, opening it, only for my smile to drop, "Hey CL-roo."

"Hello to you too Ssantoki," CL said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes and made her way in, "Why doesn't my key work?"

"Oh yeah, Jiyong changed the lock because he's paranoid," I replied, "Your new key is on the coffee table."

"Paranoid? Over what?" CL asked in confusion as she picked up the new key attatching it to her key ring.

"He thinks Jaejoong may have copied my keys," I said rolling my eyes, "How ridiculous is that?!"

"I don't think thats paranoid. I think the word you want is protective," CL said as she flashed me a grin.

"It's all the same!" I said waving her off.

/knock knock/

"ICE CREAM!" I shouted again, this time Jiyong was stood on the other side of the door all fresh and shiny, "Took you long enough!" I complained.

"You ready to go?" Jiyong asked, ignoring my complaint.

"CL-roo, Jiyong and I are going to go and get icecream! You want to come?" I asked as I grabbed Jiyong's jacket which he had left behind.

"Nah, I don't like being the third wheel," CL said before walking into the kitchen.

"Third wheel?" I muttered, tilting my head to the side in confusion, "Eh! Whatever, we'll see you later then!"

I closed the door before putting Jiyong's jacket it. It was too big for me but I didn't really care.

"I was only joking about taking my jacket, I didn't think you'd take it seriously," Jiyong said as we made our way down.

"Tch! Well tough. You're not getting it back. You're just jealous because it looks better on me," I replied as I made a gangster pose with his jacket.

Jiyong gave a hearty laugh before pinching my cheek, "Cute."

I pouted, "I wasn't going for cute!"

"How's Seungri?" I asked as we walked to the convenience store.

Jiyong shrugged, "I don't know. He either wasn't at home or he was locked up in his room."

"Aren't you even the slightest bit worried?" I asked, confused as to his lack of care for his friend.

"Not really, i'll be worried if he's not back to normal in a couple more days," Jiyong answered as he opened the door to the store for me to enter.

"ICE CREAM!" I yelled forgetting about Seungri and immediately running to the freezer, earning weird looks from the cashier.

"Let me guess, you're going to go for mango," Jiyong predicted as I reached out to grab the small tub of mango.

"Of course! Mango is jjang! Let me guess, you're going to go for boring vanilla," I guessed, rolling my eyes as I saw Jiyong grab hold of the vanilla ice cream pot.

"Hey! Vanilla isn't boring," Jiyong said defensively as he grabbed the mango from me and walked to the cashier.

"Yes it is. It's boring and dull. Like you," I said cheekily.

"Yah, I'm buying you ice cream!" Jiyong said indignantly as he handed some money over before grabbing two of those plastic ice cream spoons.

"Mehrong!" I stuck my tongue out as I grabbed the ice cream and ran out of the store giggling.

I spotted a park up ahead and was about to run over when I felt Jiyong grab my elbow and harshly pull me back towards his chest, seconds before a car came zooming across.

"YAH! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!" Jiyong shouted angrily as he glared down at me.

I gulped as I looked up into his furious face, shrinking back in fear. I was more afraid of the dragon right now than the fact that I was almost run over.

"S-so-rry," I stuttered as I looked down, looking  like a child that had just been reprimanded.

I felt Jiyong sigh heavily as he wrapped his arms around me, leaning his chin on my head, "Don't ever do that again. Arasso?" he whispered softly, his tone completely different from before.

I nodded into his chest, returning his hug as realisation took over that I was literally inches away from death if it weren't for Jiyong pulling me out of the way. We stood there for a while before Jiyong pulled back a soft smile on his face, "Come on, your ice cream is melting."

Jiyong slid his hand into mine before making an obvious move to look left and right before crossing over the street. I was about to pull away and tell him I wasn't a kid, but the look he gave me caused me to stop in my tracks and bow my head, allowing him to drag me along.

He was about to lead me to a bench but I pulled away running towards the swings instead and plopping down. I grinned over at him as I patted the swing beside me. Jiyong rolled his eyes before walking over to sit on the swing beside me before passing me my spoon.

"Mmmm! Mangoooo!" I said giddily as I popped the lid open, taking a generous spoonful and shoving it in my mouth.

"Mmmm! Vanillaaaa!" Jiyong mimicked me.

"No no no! Mango is sooo much better!" I argued as I continued to eat the sweet dessert, loving how it melted on my tongue, "Here try some!"

I scooped up some of the ice cream and stopped my light swinging as I held the spoon upto Jiyong's mouth. He eyed it warily before opening his mouth, allowing me to feed him. He tilted his head and looked up as if contemplating.

"Meh, it's alright," he said, "I still firmly believe Vanilla is better."

"No! You clearly didn't appreciate the taste enough! Here try again," I said as I held up the spoon to Jiyong again as he looked at me with amusement.

"Nahh, Vanilla is still better," he concluded as he began to eat his own icecream.

"That's a lie and you know it!" I protested as I glared at his Vanilla ice cream in contempt.

"Here," Jiyong said offering me some of his, I snapped my head away refusing his offer, "Don't make me Dara." he threatened.

"No!"

"You leave me no choice..."

"EEEEKK! JIYONG! It's cold!" I squealed when I felt him paste the icecream from his spoon onto the side of my cheek.

"You left me no choice," Jiyong chuckled.

"You are so dead Kwon Jiyong!" I got up from the swing, icecream spoon in hand as I glared at Jiyong who had leapt off of the swing in laughter.

"COME HERE KWON!" I began to chase him around the playground, memories of when we were younger popping up in my mind.

"You can't catch me shorty!" Jiyong taunted as he turned around and began to run backwards tilting his head to look at me in a cocky manner.

"DAMN YOU! Yes I will!" I said with conviction as I willed my legs to go faster. Jiyong's eyes widened as he noticed me barel towards him causing him to quicken his steps.

"GOTCHA!" I screamed as I lunged at him, causing him to topple backwards landing on the floor with a thud, his arms automatically wrapping around my wasit as I landed directly on top of him. My face landing too close to his for comfort. I pulled back slightly, my eyes gleaming with vengeance as I scooped up a generous helping of my mango icecream before smearing it allllll over his face.

"Kekekeke," I giggled as Jiyong started to wriggle underneath me from the cold, "That's what you get!"

I squealed in shock when Jiyong abruptly rolled over, flipping our positions so he was on top, "Bad move rabbit. Very bad move."

"J-Jiyong! We're even now! Don't do anything silly!" I stuttered as I remember what had occured the last time we were in this position, a small blush reached my cheeks at the thought but it was thankfully shielded by the darkness of the night.

"Oh we are far from even," he said darkly, as he smeared another helping of ice cream on my face.

"Jiyonggg! No fairr!" I whined, but couldn't help but feel relieved that that was all he was going to do.

I spoke to soon.

Before I could realise what he was doing Jiyong leaned down, his lips brushing against my cheeks softly, before his tongue flickered out to my cheek, tasting the ice cream.

My eyes widened in surprise, my mouth parting slightly in shock. His lips and tongue continued their ministrations as he continued to kiss the ice cream off of my face. I felt the melted icecream trail down my neck and it seemed Jiyong noticed too, as he followed the cold trail, slowly kissing the coldness of the icecream away and replacing it with a hot foreign sensation. Once he reached the base of my neck I felt him slightly in the exact same spot as last time, before he slowly made his way back up to my cheek.

"Hmm... Vanilla is definitely the best... so sweet..." Jiyong muttered, his lips moving against my cheek. He pulled away slightly before leaning back down to place a small peck, the small smooching sound produced was deafeningly loud. "All clean," he murmured as he pulled away again to stare into my stunned eyes. His eyes were swimming with different emotions, confusion standing out against the rest.

"YAH! What are you kids doing?! This is a public place!"

I blinked at the voice of the angry intruder, my mind finally catching up and registering what had just occured. I quickly pushed Jiyong off of me and scrambled up, hiding my face behind my hair. I took a quick glance at Jiyong on the floor before turning and running out of the park, far far away from him and the weird feelings he had caused my body to feel in that short space of time.
