“Okay, here we are”, Sooyoung said. Jessica’s eyes grew bigger while looking at the surroundings. She thought that they would have their late night supper either in the restaurant or cafe. She never eat at a place like that for the rest of her life.

“Are you okay, Sica?”, he asked while looking at the latter. Jessica scratched the nape of her neck.

“Hmm... a-are we going to eat here?”, Jessica asked.

“Yeah, that’s why I’m bringing you here”, he replied with a smile. Jessica frowned. “Why, you don’t like it?”, he asked.

“Hmm... it’s not like that. I-I've never eaten street food before”, she mumbled slowly. “I-is it clean?”, Jessica asked. Sooyoung chuckled while looking at her.

“Don’t worry, Sica. It’s clean, trust me, okay? I’ve been eating at this place since I was in a high school”, he assured her.

“Really? Wow. That’s quite a long time”, she said.

“Yeah, this place is my favorite place and Yuri. We often came here after school. Come, let’s go over there”, Sooyoung replied while pointing to the food stall located in the center of a row of food stalls available there. Both of them walked towards the food stall.

“Annyeong, Aunty Han”, Sooyoung greets the elder woman who was busy stirring ddeokbokki (cylindrical rice cakes cooked with a chili paste with pieces of fish cake) in a big square frying pan.

“Hey, Sooyoung! Annyeong. It’s been a long time since I haven't seen you. Where have you been?”, she asked.

“I was busy with my work, Aunty. I always wanted to come here after work with Yuri, but he’s busy with his business lately”, Sooyoung replied. The elder woman just nodded her head.

“How’s his business?”, she asked again.

“Doing good so far”, he smiled. Sooyoung then pulled Jessica's hand to sit on the stool provided at the stall.

“It’s good to hear that”, Aunty Han said. She then put some ddeokbokki on the plate and laid it on the small table where Sooyoung and Jessica were sitting. “Who’s this young lady? Your girlfriend?”, she asked with a smile. Jessica was startled.

“Uhm.. no, no... she’s my friend, Aunty. Her name is Jessica”, Sooyoung replied immediately while looking at Jessica. She smile awkwardly at Sooyoung.

“Annyeong Aunty, I’m Jessica”, she immediately stood up from her seat, and bowed to the elder woman. Aunty Han leaned forward to look closer.

“Annyeong, Jessica. You’re so beautiful”, Aunty Han said while caressing Jessica’s hand. Jessica smiled shyly. “What would you like to eat, Jessica?”, she asked.

“Can I have a roasted corn with honey?”, she replied.

“Sure dear”, Aunty Han said as she took the corn from the grill and put it on the plate. “Alright, here’s your roasted corn. Enjoy your food!”, Aunty Han said as she laid the plate on the table.

“Thank you Aunty”, Jessica said. The elder woman replied with a smile.

“You know what, Sica. I’ve read somewhere about Korean food. It said that, the greatest food in Korea is not in a restaurant, it’s on the street”, Sooyoung said while munching his food.

“Jinja? Wow, you seems like have a wide experience about food”, Jessica said.

“Hmm.. sort of. Well, I love food, same goes with my late family members. My late parents often brought me and my sister out for food hunting all over the place around Seoul. So, basically I had some knowledge about food”, he replied with a small smile. Jessica caressed his hand as she knew that Sooyoung would feel sad whenever he talked about his late family members.

“So, it explains where you shikshin genes come from, huh?”, Jessica teased, tried to cheer him up. Sooyoung chuckled.

“Yeah.. you can say that”, he replied. “How’s your roasted corn taste? Is it okay?”, Sooyoung asked. Jessica then took a bite of it.

“Mmm.. it taste good, Soo”, she said. Sooyoung laughed while looking at her face.

“Aigoo, look at your face”, he said.

“Wae?”, she asked, looking back at him weirdly.

“There’s smudge on your face. Here, let me help you to clean it”, Sooyoung leaned closer and took a tissue to wipe the smudge. Their face were so close until Jessica could feel his breath. She stared intently at Sooyoung’s face, but she immediately look away when Sooyoung caught her staring at him. “Hmm.. okay, there you go. Already clean”, he said as he smiled. He then continued eating his food.

“T-thanks”, Jessica stuttered. She shifted her gaze on her plate. Sooyoung could felt the awkwardness between them, and he tried to break it.

“Sica, here, try this”, Sooyoung said while carrying a piece of ddeokbokki with chopsticks to .

“I-Is it spicy?”, she asked. Sooyoung giggled.

“A little bit, but you should try it. Aahh.. open your mouth”, Sooyoung said. Jessica complied and started to chew the food. Her face suddenly crumpled.

“Y-yahhh.. it’s spicy!”, she said as she playfully hit Sooyoung’s arm. He laughed his head off. He immediately took his drinks and handed it to Jessica. Aunty Han who was watching them from far couldn’t help but to smile while looking at their act.

Not your girlfriend, huh? But acting like you’re in lovey dovey with her in front of me! Typical Sooyoung!

“Here, drink this”, he said. Jessica immediately took the glass, and took a few sips on the drinks. She fanned herself due to the heat that she felt after eating ddeokbokki. Sooyoung felt guilty and caressed her back.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know that you can’t stand eating spicy food that much”, he said as smiled apologetically. Jessica took a tissue and wiped her runny nose.

“It’s okay, Soo. I know you didn’t mean it, right?”, she smiled. Sooyoung couldn’t help but to smile at her back.

Your smile is so beautiful, even when you have runny nose.. hehe..

Sooyoung glanced at his wristwatch, and it’s already 11:30 pm.

“Sica, I think we should go home now. It’s already late”, Sooyoung said. Jessica felt a bit frustrated when she heard his said. Sooyoung took a glance at her, and he noticed that she was pouting.

“Aigoo.. so cute!”, he thought.

“Hmm... as much as I want to spend more time with you, but I think both of us need a rest since we’ve been working until late of night. You need your rest too, right?”, he said.

“Omo.. how did.. now he can read my mind?”, Jessica thought. She immediately shook her head.

“Sica, are you okay?”, Sooyoung asked her worriedly.

“Hmm.. y-yeah, I’m okay, Soo. Alright, let’s go home”, she said as she smiled weakly. Both of them stood up, and leaving their table. Sooyoung walked to Aunty Han’s stall to pay for the food and drinks.

“Thank you, Aunty. It’s really nice to see you again. I promise I’ll drag Yuri to come here next time”, he grinned.

“You and him, never change, huh? Naughty as always”, Aunty Han chuckled. “ It’s okay, Soo. Just come here anytime you want. And, don’t forget to bring Jessica too, arasso?”, Aunty Han said as he patted Sooyoung’s shoulder.

“Ne, Aunty. I’ll see you around. Good night!”, he replied and bowed to the elder woman.

“Good night, Aunty”, Jessica bowed to her and smiled.

“Good night both of you”, Aunty Han waved at both of them. Both of them waved at her back and slowly leaving the stall.

The weather on that night was so windy and cold. Jessica didn’t bring her jacket together, so, she was a bit shivering while walking. Sooyoung noticed on it. He immediately stop walking, and took off his jacket and put it on her.

“T-thanks, Soo”, she thanked him. Sooyoung just smiled and nodded his head. He then continued walking and put his hands in his pants pockets. Jessica keep on glancing at him as both of them didn't talk much while walking.

“Soo”, Jessica called him.

“Yes, Sica?”, he replied while looking at the latter.

“Let’s share this jacket. It’s cold. I don’t want you to get sick”, she said as she stopped walking.

“It’s okay, Sica. Don’t worry”, he smiled as he assured her.

“Soo, I insist!”, she exclaimed as she took off the jacket. Sooyoung scratched his head, still contemplating whether he should complied or not. Jessica handed the jacket to him. He finally took the jacket, and leaned closer to Jessica.

“I hope you don’t mind this”, he said as he put his arm on Jessica’s waist. Her heart beats faster the moment he put his hand on her waist.

“N-nope. I-It’s okay”, she suddenly stuttered.

Oh god!

After putting the jacket over them, they started to walk slowly. Jessica was automatically placed her hand on Sooyoung’s waist. Sooyoung was startled at first, he couldn’t help but smile. Their body become closer, and both of them were enjoyed each other’s warmth until they didn’t realize that they were already in front of Jessica’s car.

“We are here”, Sooyoung said as he stopped walking. He immediately released his hand from Jessica’s waist, and took off the jacket. Jessica also did the same. Jessica then took out her car keys from her handbag, and unlocked the door’s car.

“Soo, thank you so much for the treat. I really enjoyed it”, she said.

“Don’t mention it, Sica. Thank you for spending your time with me tonight”, he replied with a smile.

“You’re welcome, Soo. I think I should go now. It’s already late”, she said while opening the car’s door to get into the car.

“Hmm.. Sica”, Sooyoung called her.

“Yes, Soo?”, she replied and immediately turned at him.

Alright, Choi Sooyoung. Now or never!

Sooyoung walked closer to Jessica and hugged her. He caressed Jessica’s back, and tightened his hug.

“Soo?”, Jessica called him.

“Sica, I like you”
