-Aerin’s POV- “Well, well, what do we have here?” a man’s voice said. It came from my right side and I had to squint through the darkness to see who it was. When my vision adjusted to the dark, I saw that it was a young man, probably a senior or a visitor. I haven’t really seen him before. I ignored him, taking out my snuffbox from my purse. I lit a cigarette, taking long drags of smoke from it. I was really getting stressed out with the way those two were behaving. I wished they would just stop. I glanced sideways, suddenly feeling weird. The person still stood on his spot. I could tell he was leering at me. Goodness, I was in the school grounds and yet there’s a psycho. He wasn’t attacking me, but that’s just how I saw it. Suddenly, two more boys came out of nowhere and one was holding a baseball bat, repeatedly pounding it against his open palm as he walked closer to the first guy. These kids were certainly weird. What were they doing? Am I actually going to witness street punks fighting? I shrugged. I remained unperturbed, promising to go back to the safety of Chan Yeol and Sehun’s watchful eyes after I finish my cigarette. It was almost halfway consumed. I took another long drag, facing the other way when someone called my name. “Kwon Aerin,” a pitchy yet nasal voice said from the darkness. It came from my left. It was girl and for a second there I thought I recognized that voice – Bae Eunmi. She finally emerged from the darkness, flipping her long, blond hair, her little crony flanking her. “Fancy meeting you here,” she said, chuckling. I looked the other way and smoked some more. “I didn’t know I’ve got company,” I muttered, sighing. I took one last puff of smoke in then tossed the against the wall, stepping on it before I turned away and started walking back to the crowd. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my arm, gripping me tightly, nails biting into my skin. “Where do you think you’re going?” Eunmi demanded. I jerked my hand away. I wasn’t about to engage myself into a catfight. I was too tired and she wasn’t worth it. “It’s none of your business,” I told her sternly then started to walk off when I realized that the three boys who were standing at the edge of the alley were walking towards me, blocking my way. I looked back at Eunmi and smirked. “I didn’t know you brought the Motley Crew with you. So what is it going to be, Blondie?” She cackled. “You’ve got a lot of nerve saying that to me. You’re alone. You won’t stand a chance.” “Ha! Wrong again, Miss Bae. I stand a chance due to that reason. I can’t believe you’re actually sending all your hounds to get me, one person. Can’t you defend yourself on your own? You’re pathetic.” I scowled at her. She was such a coward! Eunmi walked towards me, seizing my chin. “You’ve been warned. Now pay for your arrogance,” she purred to my ear then looked at the boys behind me. “Do what you’re supposed to do,” she said to them then disappeared into the darkness. The moment she disappeared, I felt a pair of hand seize me. I immediately jerked away, getting ready to fight if I had to. The boys sneered at me when they saw my intent to fight them off. The first one charged towards me, pinning me against the wall. Before he could do anything else, I punched him squarely on the jaw. I felt his bones get dislocated under the force I’ve applied. He spat blood on the floor. “You !” he hissed then took me by the shoulders and kneed me on the stomach. I felt bile rising up my throat as I fought to keep myself conscious. I stood up straight, clutching the spot. “You shouldn’t have done that, sissy!” I taunted him then charged, clawing at his eyes. The other one yanked me backwards from their companion, but I managed to kick him on the groin. He flew down the gravelly pavement, howling in pain. I was only half aware of what was going on, but I knew I was receiving hard blows to the face and head. I fought back, of course. I wasn’t about to let that Bae Eunmi push me down to the ground without a fight. It’s not going to be that easy for her. It’s never going to be easy for her again. I’ll make sure of that. Out of the blue, I heard my name being called by that very familiar voice. The four of us who were fighting paused for a while and I saw Sehun standing at the end of the alley, looking enraged. His hands were balled into fists and his eyes were bloodshot. I was able to grin at him before the blood that was dripping from a cut by my eyebrow obscured my vision. Two pairs of hands removed themselves from me and I could hear the crunching footsteps as they went towards Sehun. “Don’t touch him!” I yelled at them. “It’s me you’re after. Let’s finish this.” They didn’t listen to me. I sa
