-Chan Yeol’s POV- Damn it, what are we paying these teachers for? It was the third time this week that our History teacher was out. She didn’t leave any homework or seatwork and the class was noisy as ever. It also gave the girls in my class to engage in a conversation with them. They were so annoying. I’ve already announced that I wasn’t going on any date at all that week and yet they were still tailing me. One of the girls that I’ve been trying to avoid was Bae Eunmi. Since that day that I cancelled out date, she had been dangling around me every time she had the opportunity to. I rolled my eyes mentally when I saw her staring at me from the other corner of the room. I just knew she was going to approach me any time now. Brace yourself, I thought, pretending not to see her. Just then, Aerin passed by the open door of our classroom, walking in that confident gait. Even while she was in her sour mood, she still glowed. I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of what she said during lunch. Does that mean she was considering it? I wasn’t able to sleep well the previous night and I found myself smiling like an idiot. Even my mother noticed it. Just then, I saw Eunmi getting ready to get up, eyeing me. Yes, she was pretty and all, but she was nasty and mean to other people. She’s not my type. I stood up and took off after Aerin, passing by Eunmi, ignoring her entirely. “Aerin-ah!” I called after her. She walked too fast and I had to run after her. I tried calling her again until finally, she stopped walking and faced me. The smile that replaced the confused look on her face was enough to make my stomach do somersaults. Once again, I wondered how such an angelic face could exist. “Hello,” she greeted me in that slightly husky voice I love hearing. “Hi. Where are you going?” I asked her, trying to strike up a conversation. “I’m supposed to go to the library. Mr. Chae didn’t feel like discussing with us right now.” “I see. Do you have a minute? I wanted to ask you something,” I told her, pulling her to the intersecting hallway where there weren’t any people. She frowned. “Hmm, what is it?” I stared at her sheepishly. “I…uh…I was wondering if you meant what you said earlier.” She narrowed her eyes at me. “Which one of the things I said?” Really now? She forgot that easily? Does she have memory lapses or something? “About this Saturday, you said you…” I couldn’t say it. I might sound desperate to her. She laughed slightly then nodded. “Of course, I meant it.” “Really?” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. She nodded. “You don’t have trouble talking with other girls. What makes me different?” “You’re special,” I blurted out and regretted it the moment I said the words. Aerin looked stunned, but then she grinned at me. “Thank you.” “You’re welcome…I guess.” Aerin began sniggering at me. “Feel free to say anything you want to, alright? We’re friends. There’s nothing wrong with that. You can tell me anything. Just don’t expect my reactions to be positive all the time. Agreed?” “Agreed.” “Would that be all?” I nodded, touching the back of my head. I already felt good ev
