-Sehun’s POV- I’m bored. I didn’t want to attend class, but I’ve got no other option after what transpired earlier this day. Once again, I was bound to making sure that Aerin was fine. I’ve seen her in fights before and she never held back then like she did now. She could have easily pulverized that Bae Eunmi if she chose to do so, but she didn’t. Instead, she tried to control herself. I knew that even if I was there, she would have gone ahead and did what she had to. My interference had nothing to do with it. I could feel her anger exuding, engulfing the whole room from where I stood. It was why I hated it when we fought. The feeling was unsettling especially when her feelings project out of her even without speaking. It was impossible to miss the hurt in her eyes whenever she tried to conceal what she really felt inside. I could easily see through her and it wasn’t any different when she’s not speaking to me, being all sulky. I entered eighth period late, relieved that she was seated on her usual spot. Chan Yeol hyung was trying to get her to talk, but she just sat still as if she didn’t hear anything. Finally, he gave up and I sat beside her. It was only then that she decided to snap out of her trance and faced Chan Yeol hyung. “You were saying…” she said, sounding dead. Hyung smiled at her, pointing at her gauze-clad hand. She placed her hand inside her pocket when she noticed that. “What happened?” he asked her, looking at me sharply. I just shrugged. What now? Was I ever a girl-beater before? He’s crazy. I just shook my head then looked the other way while Aerin struggled to explain herself. “I…uh…I tripped,” she said. What a bad liar. Couldn’t she have thought of something more believable other than that? Chan Yeol hyung wasn’t stupid or ignorant for that matter. He’d had his own share of brawls and I knew that he knew what really happened more or less. Why would she have her hand wrapped in such a fashion if she hadn’t gotten into a nasty encounter? Oh wait. I was the one who treated her hand so basically, it’s my fault…again. Chan Yeol hyung pretended to buy her excuse, but looked at me again. It was his fault to begin with. If he hadn’t been dangling around her, she wouldn’t have gotten into trouble. I just wonder how he would take it once he finds out. I shook the thought off. I’ve got more things to stress about other than their problem like why Mr. Kim was late for class and I mean late. As if on cue, the middle-aged man entered the room panting. “Class,” he began. “I’ll have to dismiss you early. I will post the list of your study partners on the board. The assignment would be at the bottom of the list.” Study partner? Oh yeah. I forgot about that. “I want that paper submitted on our next meeting. Is that clear?” “Ne,” the class answered in unison and the moment he left, everyone gathered in front of the board to look at the list, some going back to their seats with excited looks on their faces while others were just plain pissed. Suho hyung was the last one to check it out. I didn’t care doing that and neither did Chan Yeol hyung who was still seated, staring at Aerin. “Hunnie! You’re my study partner,” he said, bored by the prospect of it. Well, so was I. “Study on your own,” I muttered. “Just text the homework to me and I’ll do it.” “That’s good. I have club practice today.” “Whatever.” Suho hyung then tapped Chan Yeol hyung on the back. “What?” Chan Yeol hyung said coldly. “Your partner is…Aerin.” “What?!” Aerin and I said in chorus, startling Suho hyung and making Chan Yeol the playboy grimace. “Don’t get me wrong, alright? I was just surprised,” Aerin immediately explained herself again. Talk about defensive. Chan Yeol hyung smiled gently at her. “It’s fine.” I exchanged looks with Suho hyung who was furtively shaking his head at them. I now have every reason to believe that he believed the rumors. I did, too when I first heard of it since the two people had been joined to the hip and it was annoying, but after seeing her reaction to what Suho hyung said about the study partners, I knew better. She was still too guarded even while Chan Yeol hyung was trying to make her as comfortable as she could be, even going through lengths of believing her lame reasoning. They weren’t a couple…yet. “That’s great,” Chan Yeol hyung said to Aerin. “Where should we study then?” I glanced at Aerin who seemed to be getting the hang of what he was saying. She stared at her hand thoughtfully. I knew she didn’t want to be alone with him. It was easy to see that she was anticipating him to ask questions about it. “You want to go to my house?” Chan Yeol hyung said with a hopeful look on his face. Suho hyung’s eyes widened as if to say, “Don’t go anywhere alone with him.” He then shifted his eyes on me. “What the hell?” he mouthed. I was feeling more and more irritated by the second. I could only count on Aerin to decline the
