Tao’s POV~

I shut the house door behind me, making sure to lock it just in case since the young ones went to a water park with Miss Kwon to celebrate Micha’s 7^th birthday. I stuffed the keys into my gym bag and slung it over my shoulder, walking towards the woods when I heard someone’s footsteps coming up.

I froze in my track and slowly turned to my right, watching a figure walking towards the house.

I cupped my hand over my eyes to look past the blazing sun and was taken quite aback.

“Eunjae.” My mouth said in a hushed whisper. She saw me and gave me a faint smile. But I knew better than that. I already built a wall around me, just like I’ve had since I came here and it wouldn’t crumble so easily.

I turned back to the woods and walked off, trying oh so hard to ignore her presence.

I continued to walk towards the lake but I felt her feet fall behind me as she called out my name.

Ignore it Tao. Ignore it.

My conscience warned me, telling me all the things that I should avoid.

But I stopped in my track when she shouted,

“November 24, you gave me that drawing and I gave you the toy panda for our last birthday at the lake.”

Eunjae’s POV~

He stopped but his back was still facing me. I wouldn’t blame him but I took this opportunity to advance and continue throwing all the dates I remembered.

“October 14, the day you transferred to my lunch room after that incident.” I continued and took another step towards him. I continued to throw in more and more dates until I was only a foot away from him. I took in a deep breath and croaked out,

“April 26-”

“Nothing happened on that day.” Tao said coldly and began to walk away. I wasn’t going to lose him so easily and I continued,

“April 26, the day I should’ve believed you but didn’t.” He stopped and I took several steps up to him. He stood still and I hugged him from behind. I didn’t know what to say in all honesty.

I was half expecting him to push me away and walk away from me forever. I wouldn’t have any reason to blame him; I walked away on him twice and he still stood by me after the first time, only to have it thrown back at his face.

I finally managed to say the words that I should’ve said the first time, but was saying them now;

“I’m sorry Tao. For everything.”

I felt his chest move up as he took in a large breath, and exhaled it out loud to make sure I heard him.  He turned around and wrapped his arms around me, a smile erupting from my lips in content.

“What am I going to do with you?” He teased. I could only hug him tighter and that’s when he squirmed under me,

“Aigoo you’re crushing me Eunjae!” I let go and he stood back, ruffling my hair.

I missed that.

He looked at me and asked,

“So how’d you get out of Kai’s prison?”

Tao’s POV~

I saw her blush and she hesitated, making me really curious as to what she had to do. My mind was coming up with the most bizarre images until she finally said,

“I did that one move you taught me when we were little kids…” I tried to think back but I came up empty handed. I looked at her for some more details which only made her blush more. She bent her knee and slightly lifted her foot.

I was still confused and that’s when she finally shouted,

“I KNEED HIM IN THE MAN PART!” and she covered her face in embarrassment, completely mortified.

What was I doing after that?

Laughing. My. . Off.
