Eunjae’s POV~

I impatiently tapped my fingernail against the wooden desk, the clock going by even more slower as I stared at it.

I already handed in my classwork and I was eager to get home to check up on Tao. He just got out of the hospital and he’s 100% healthy now, but the doctor still told him to take it easy.

I couldn’t help but smile a little, knowing he’s probably done just the opposite and is probably at the lake kicking away at a tree trunk.

I looked up at the clock and realized only ten seconds have passed. It’s as if father time hates me I swear.

I also made sure to make a mental note to study the last unit for Calculus. I couldn’t believe that I actually managed to catch up on all my studies within such a short period of time.

Well you had a great tutor.

I had to agree with my conscience, making sure that I need to do something special to thank Tao for all his troubles.

I looked up at the clock yet again and thank heavens; I had less than a minute to go. I slowly began packing, making sure the teacher wouldn’t notice me seeing as he’s one of the strict adults who refuse to let their students pack up until the bell rings and signals the end of the day.

I managed to put away my pencil and notebook when at last, the bell rung and I hopped out of my seat.

I needed to get to my locker soon before the crowd came in and I was the first one out the door. I sharply turned a corner and wasn’t aware that someone was doing the same on the opposite side.

I collided into their chest and fell tumbling down on my , my few small belongings falling out of my bag.

“I’m so sorry I didn’t - Eunjae?” The attacker said my name midway through his sentence and I looked up. I nearly choked on my heart that somehow managed to get lodged into my throat as my prince was standing before me. I gathered all of my possessions in rapid speed and he offered me his hand.

I took it without hesitation and he hoisted me up with ease.

Oh god he must think I’m a complete klutz falling right in front of him.

I began to feel wary and self-conscience in front of his presence, aware that students were slowly filing out and were staring at his beauty.

“Eunjae it’s me Kai, do you remember me?” He asked me but the way he asked his question seemed cautious, as if he was treading carefully on unfamiliar grounds. I wanted so badly to say yes and remember the memories I’m sure I had with this prince, but nothing came to mind.

I bit my bottom lip and replied apologetically,

“I’m sorry I don’t. Were we friends before?”

Kai’s POV~

“Eunjae it’s me Kai, do you remember me?” I asked carefully. Judging by her confused look she had when I helped her up, she doesn’t even know who I am. But I still wanted to be careful and make sure her cloudy mind didn’t clear up and she suddenly remembered who I was before.

I restrained myself from sighing in relief when she apologized and said no.

I wanted to smirk so badly when she asked if we were friends and I couldn’t help but want to high-five fate if I ever met it, knowing that it was on my side.

“Yeah, we were Eunjae. We were practically best of friends.” I replied, gaining her full trust and faith. She smiled at me and asked me more questions, wanting for me to tell her everything that has happened in the past school year.
