Chapter 39: Investigating.

Chunji’s POV:

“So, you are saying you can make Gaein fall in love with me again…”

“So, are you in?” she asked me smirking.

“Count me in” I sighed.

“Perfect” she smiled.

She walked around the apartment. I was wondering what her plan was. Was she planning to hurt Youngmin? I needed to stop her, but to do that first I had to make her believe I was on her side.

“So, I already convinced my manager to sing a duet with Youngmin” she said taking one of the pictures on the wall. It was a picture of the six of us, teen top.

“So, what are you planning to do?” I smirked.

“I’m planning to make a press conference and announce that I’m pregnant and that Youngmin is the baby’s father” she turned at me. I nodded. “Why don’t you have pictures of me anymore?” she asked with a sad look.

“I have them in my closet” I lied. “So, in that way you’ll separate them”

“Exactly, but not only that. I can make Gaein believe that this baby is really his”

“How?” my eyes widened puzzled.

“I drugged him one night. He doesn’t remember anything. With a good photoshop, she’ll believe her perfect boyfriend cheated on her”

So, she wasn’t only trying something little, it was something big. This girl is insane.

“Leaving me the way open to her”

“That’s right. And I’ll make a family with Youngmin, forcing him to get married with me”

I gulped but tried to smile. She was scaring me so badly. Her face was so creepy and I was afraid she could hurt Youngmin, or even worse: Gaein. I couldn’t let her do that.

In that moment, I heard the door opening revealing L. Joe who was back from the supermarket. I had texted him when Hyuna arrived explaining him the situation. We were going to act as if we were supporting her.

“Hyuna! How are you? It’s been a long” he greeted her faking a smile.

“Fine!” she smiled back.

“Would you like something to drink? Come with me” he guided her to the kitchen so I could take a look to her purse.

I opened her purse and looked for something that could help me to find out exactly what she was planning. But for my surprise, I found a medical prescription of “Risperdal” from the psychiatric department of “Gangnam’s Specialty Clinic”. I heard them coming so I put back all her things into her purse and left it where it was.

“Well, I guess I’ll call you later Chunji. I’ll be going to Japan the next week, so I’ll tell you about what I have in mind” she winked at me.

“Yes” I faked a smile.

Finally, Hyuna left the apartment leaving me dumbfounded. L. Joe looked at me full of curiosity.

“So, what is the planning?” he asked me.

“She wants to make everyone believe that Youngmin got her pregnant” I muttered thinking.

“What? That girl is completely crazy!” He exclaimed.

“It’s not just that… I found a medical prescription from the psychiatric department of one of Gangnam’s Clinic…”

“What do you mean with that?” he asked puzzled.

“That I think Hyuna has mental disorder”

“This is serious… what if she tries to hurt someone?”

“That’s what I’m afraid of…”

“Do you remember the name of the Clinic? We could go there to investigate about it” he sat on the couch in front of me.

“Yes… it was ‘Gangnam’s Specialty Clinic’” I answered.

“Perfect. Let’s go there” he stood up and took his jacket. He was about to take the car keys when I stopped him.

“What do you think you’re doing? I’m the hyung, so I’ll drive”

“Yah! Hyung I wanted to drive” he pouted.

“Stop being so childish! This is something serious. We need to find out what’s wrong with Hyuna before she can hurt someone” I said a little upset.

“I’m sorry”

“We’d better hurry up”

We rushed to Gangnam’s Specialty Clinic and went to the reception. The receptionist was a lady on her twenties, with straight long hair and fangs. She was quite pretty. I stood in front of her casually while L. Joe kept his distance.

“Hi! Mmm… I was wondering if I could get some information about a friend that visited this Clinic recently from the psychiatric department. Her name is Kim Hyuna”

“I’m sorry pretty boy but we can’t give information about our patients” she smiled. I could hear L. Joe laughing behind me.

“Well, I don’t know if you had noticed but I’m Teen Top’s Chunji. I can do anything you want if you provide me that information” I winked at her flirtatiously.

“I’d really like that Oppa but I can’t give you that information because I don’t have it” she blushed. Oppa? I’m sure I’m younger than her.

I looked up and read the title of the expedients that were on the shelves behind her: “Patient Visits Records”.

“Liar” I mouthed turning to L. Joe. He smirked and nodded.

“Ouch!” L. Joe suddenly screamed.

“Omo! L. Joe Oppa, I didn’t know you were also here” the girl walked to him excited and worried at the same time. I guess she was only L. Joe’s fan.

“Hi pretty! I think I injured my ankle. Could you help me?” he acted as if he was in pain. He winked at me.

“Of course Oppa, come here with me” the girl said and walked away with L. Joe. 

I quickly took one of the records and checked it out. I found Hyuna’s name on the visits from two weeks ago. Apparently she had an appointment with the psychiatrist Lee Sae Young. I took a picture of the page with my cellphone and put the book back to the shelf.

L. Joe came back in a couple minutes with a frightened face.

“That girl is crazy. She tried to kiss me on the lips and touched my ”

“I’m glad she wasn’t my fan” I laughed at him.

“Just shut up! Did you get something?”

“Yes, here’s the name of the psychiatrist. It says it’s on the 4^th floor room 25” I showed him the picture I took with my cellphone.

“Wait, did you see this?” he said surprised.

“What?” I asked puzzled.

“Here” he showed me the last visit of that day. “It says Yoon Gaein at the Fertility Department”

“Fertility Department?” I gulped. “Why would Gaein go there?”

“Maybe it wasn’t Gaein… maybe Hyuna was telling the truth about being pregnant” L. Joe was frozen and so was I. I felt how the blood came down from my head and I suddenly turned pale.

“Even then, why would Hyuna register as Gaein at the clinic?”

This was scaring me to death. Something was definitely wrong, and I was worried about Gaein’s safety.

L.Joe and I went to the fourth floor and stood in front of the room 25’s door. We read the nameplate: “Lee Sae Young. Psychiatry” I puffed my cheeks with air and blew it out. I knocked the door feeling nervous.

“Come in”

I opened the door and we walked in the room. It was very peaceful there. The walls were white and had a thin mint green stripe. The room was decorated in a minimalistic way, with only a chaise lounge chair and a big couch.

“Do you have an appointment?” the doctor asked nicely.

The doctor was a woman on her thirties, but definitely looked younger. She had straight long hair tied in a ponytail and light makeup. Her skin was pretty white and her eyes were big. She was wearing glasses and smiling.

“No. But we need your help with something” I stuttered a little. I have to admit I was stunned by her beauty.

“About what?” she tilted her head.

“About Kim Hyuna. We know she’s your patient and we’re worried about her” L. Joe said.

“I see…” her face changed to a serious one. “Are you her friends?” she furrowed her eyebrows.

“Yes” we both answered.

“What are your names?”

“I’m Lee Chanhee, but people know me as Chunji” I introduced myself with a little bow.

“My name is Lee Byunghun, but I’m better known as L. Joe” he followed my actions.

“Chunji? You must be Hyuna’s ex-boyfriend, right?” her eyes widened. I nodded. “Sit down. It’s supposed that I shouldn’t tell you this, but Hyuna needs help and I can’t contact with her anymore”

The doctor’s face looked worried and angst at the same time. I was afraid something really bad was happening.

“Hyuna is developing schizophrenia. She has a mental disorder that needs to be controlled with hospitalization. Unfortunately, her company forbid me to hospitalize her because she’s an idol. I’m afraid she might stop taking her medication. If that’s the case, the disorder will develop faster and it will make her lose the control”

“Is it dangerous?” I asked.

“She might hurt the people that surround her. She hears voices in her head that make her feel miserable, but according to her, there’s this girl named Gaein that makes her feel bad. She feels that Gaein steals everything from her. That she’s better than her and she’s loved by everyone while she’s despised by others. I’m afraid she might hurt this girl”

“Why? What does she have against Gaein? She hasn’t done anything to her!” my eyes got teary.

“I know it, but you have to understand she’s not mentally healthy. Schizophrenia is a disorder that takes you out from reality. Like I said, she feels that the whole world is against her and wants to take control of her life but she can’t. So the voices in her head tell her that she’s someone pathetic and tell her to hurt the people that is more successful than her, in this case, it’s Gaein”

“And how can we stop her? We can’t let her hurt Gaein. You can’t let her do that. Please, do something doctor Lee!” my voice sounded desperate, and I was. I never thought it would be that serious. Hyuna is literally crazy.

“I can’t. I promise you I tried to explain the people from her company that she needed to be hospitalized, so she could continue with her treatment, but they denied to it. And now I can’t even contact her. If she continues taking her medication, she can be partially controlled; but if she doesn’t, I’m afraid she might be able to kill someone…”
