Why do all my friends try to dig out information about my relationship with Squishy? We’re not dating! Yet.

"Hi Jihyun!" I was greeted with the chirpy voice of one of my friends, Eunmi. I thought she went home after the extra lessons we had, but apparently she stayed to complete some other work of her own.

"Yo Eunmi, what do you want?" I reached forward to pat her head, but she dodged, causing me to pout.

"Aww don't be sad, you can ask him to cheer you up!" She threw a glance at Squishy, who was not very far from us.

"Shh! He might hear you!" I placed a finger on her lips frantically before retracting my hand back.

Sneaking a peek at Squishy, I saw that he was engrossed in reading the nutritional value labels on the jars of jelly. He might not have heard it after all, at least I hoped so.

"Are you here to spy on me like how Hyerin did?" I narrowed my eyes at her, wondering if all my close friends were in cahoots with one another.

"No, of course not! I came here for a drink, so can you give me a Milk Tea with pearls?"

"Hm I trust you this time." I went into the kitchen to get an empty cup and the ingredients to make her drink. In the midst of preparing, I saw Eunmi gesturing for Squishy to go close to her so she could speak to him out of my earshot. The scene caused me to panic. What if she started asking some weird stuff?

I sped everything up, even spilling some of the contents on the table. Quickly, I placed the cup into the machine to seal the top and speed-walked towards the two. Eunmi, upon noticing my approach, stopped whispering to Squishy.

"What did you tell him now?" I muttered softly. It was intended only for Eunmi to hear, but I think Squishy caught it too, because he smoothly scooted away, leaving some privacy for us to talk.

"I didn't tell him anything!" She exclaimed innocently. "Though I may have asked him some things..."

"Eunmi!" I shot her the what-the-hell look.

"Anyways, last long!" She yelled after snatching the drink from my hand and dropping off the exact change on the counter, causing me to have a strong urge of slamming my face on the counter surface itself.

"Your friend huh?"

"Unfortunately, yes. So what did she ask you?"

Squishy stiffened at my question, lips opening and closing, contemplating whether to tell me or not.

"Okay never mind, I don't need to know. If it can even make you uneasy, then it's better I don't find out."

"Okay then..."

I wondered about the kind of questions Eunmi could have asked to throw Squishy off by so much, but the more I thought, the more ridiculous my guesses became, so I settled for a text message to her, only to receive an unexpected reply that night.
