And that girl doesn't work there anymore, I wonder where she went though...

Fridays were a bore. Be it in school (gosh it feels like I have no summer vacation at all), or at work. Oh wait, I have no work. Well, at least there were fewer remedial lessons on Fridays, so I had more leisure time to spend with my friends before I visited the shop (and Squishy).

I spent all the extra time eating lunch with Hwajae and Hyori in the end and goofed off at a hidden spot in the school premises. It wasn't very well hidden though, as a student walked past that spot and was there just in time to see us do side rolls on the ground.

After getting high on non-existent crack messing around for a while, we decided to leave the school to get ourselves drinks from the bubble tea shop. It didn't take us long to reach there, since it was very close to our school.

"I think she wants to go there only because Squishy's there." Hwajae commented when we were almost there.

"Definitely." Hyori agreed while nodding her head rhythmically.

"I wanted to get a drink too, no harm done." I shrugged as all of us reached the counter of the shop. I was expecting to see that girl there, since it was a Friday, but she was nowhere to be found.

"Hi Kyungsoo-oppa." I greeted. "Where... is she?"

Squishy looked baffled for a second before realising who I meant. "Oh she quit."

"Really?"

"Yeah, she told me this morning."

"Oh..."

"Isn't that perfect?" I heard Hwajae exclaim. Oh no, she was formulating an evil plan again. "Jihyun could work here on Fridays now!"

"Yeah you could actually." Squishy thought for a few moments before agreeing.

"See? Go ahead and accompany your Squishy!" Hwajae pushed me forward.

"Wait, I have a suggestion too."

"If it's about you not wanting to work here on Fridays then no, we're not going to listen."

"It's not!" I retorted. "I was thinking if Kyungsoo-oppa could give up his slot on Thursdays and I will too, so Kai and Hwajae can work together."

"That's not a bad idea too." He clicked his tongue.

"But I don't know if we can pass the ahjumma stage though." I chuckled nervously.

"We can try?" Hwajae said hopefully.

"Guess that someone isn't against working with someone she likes, she's even looking forward to it!"

"No I'm not!" Hwajae retaliated.

"Yes you are!" I exclaimed.

"No I'm not!"

"Yes you are!" Squishy backed me up.

"No."

"Yes."

"Can we please get the drinks now? I'm thirsty." Hyori suddenly burst out.

"Oops we totally forgot about our original purpose here." I giggled while apologising to her.

"Obviously all of you did.”

“So Oreo Cappuccino, Passion fruit Lychee Ice Blended and…?” Hyori was not a frequent visitor, so Squishy didn't know what her usual order was.

“Just Milk Tea with pearls.”

“Okay, I’ll be done in a jiffy.” Squishy chirped before sneaking a quick wink. I cannot believe that he winked. At us. But I didn't let it affect me, much.

“So do you want to work here? Because there’s only two weeks left till school.” I asked Hwajae as I was considering the pros and cons of her working there.

“I don't know, I don't think so.” She gave a defeated smile.

“It’s okay, you can still see Kai during other times.” I teased, a little contented that I could take some revenge.

“Jongjae~” Hyori said in a sing-song tone.

“Squishycookies is still canon!”

“No we’re not!”

“That’s what you always say.”

“Of course that’s what I would say, what else do you think I’ll say?” I crossed my arms.

“I don't know, something along the lines of ‘yeah Squishycookies is real’.”

“That’s not going to happen.” I said firmly. “At least not the admitting part.”

“So even if it became real, you wouldn't tell us? Wow what a great friend you are.” Hwajae commented sarcastically.

“That’s because all of you make a big issue out of it!”

“It’s kind of funny though.” Hyori finally spoke up after staying silent for so long. “Especially your reactions.”

“What reactions?” Squishy apparently overheard the last part of our conversation (he always seemed to overhear the last parts of people’s conversations), and asked us what we were talking about.

“Nah just things about Squishycookies, you know?”

“Uh okay.” He passed the three cups to us and took our payment for the drinks.

“Bye!” All three of us shouted at the same time, which shocked Squishy a bit.

“Uh bye.” He gave a slight wave of his hand.
