No matter what I joon says, I have Squishy now, and nothing is going to change my love for him.

It was the end of the first week of the semester, which also meant I could wait till the weekends to complete my homework. Yes, I was a major procrastinator when it came to schoolwork.

Anyway, Hwajae originally wanted to get a drink from the bubble tea shop, but she parted with me once Kai brought her away right outside our school gate, so I walked to the shop on my own in the end. Right before I squeezed into the shop, I felt someone’s hand tugging on my arm. I turned to see I joon behind me.

“Why are you here?” I shook his hand off.

“You again?” Squishy growled when he caught sight of the other male.

“I just need a moment with Jihyun.”

“Ten minutes is all I’m giving you.” I said affirmatively.

“Jihyun?” Squishy grew nervous.

“It’s okay, we’ll just have a talk.” With that, I dragged I joon away from the shop to the back, where no one could see us.

“What do you want?” I snapped.

“I have never stopped thinking about you ever since our breakup, I tried to change my classes to suit yours, but you always seemed to ignore me. I thought I could forget about you, but after that night, I realised I can’t give you up. Can’t you see the effort I’m putting in?” He grabbed either side of my shoulders, effectively locking me in place so I didn't have a chance of running away.

“Look, I appreciate you doing all that for me but I’ve moved on. I know it’s cruel of me to always ignore your presence in class. I tried to continue to be friends with you, but what you’re doing just makes it impossible for us to stay as friends.” I pushed his hands off. “I joon, you will find someone better than me who will truly appreciate you. Right now, I’m in a relationship and I’m not planning to give it up, so I’m asking you to move on and forget about me. This is the best choice for both of us and I believe we’ll be happier that way.”

“Is there nothing I can do to make you come back?”

“We’re through, and we can never salvage what we’ve lost. I don't feel for you the same way I did, these feelings are reserved for someone else now.”

“I know, you love Kyungsoo now…”

“How did you…?”

“Bye, Jihyun. I’ll never disturb you again, but that doesn't mean I will stop waiting for you.” He spun around and walked away, with his shoulders deflated. I wanted to call out for him to apologise, but I held it in, thinking it would be for the best if he didn't turn back. Making my way back to the shop, I let out a huge sigh.

“Where is he?” Squishy scanned the area to see if he was still around.

“He’s never coming back.”
