Entry 44
That Particular Boy18.09.2014 (Thursday)
Hm so Kai raps too. What a charmer!
“So have you two made up already?” I asked Hwajae when the boys were at the counter, serving a few customers.
“Yes, we have.”
“So have you two kissed already?” I pressed on further.
“Is that all you think about? Go find your Squishy if you want kisses!” She smacked my face away, which was getting too close for comfort.
“I heard kisses.” Kai squeezed into the chair Hwajae was sitting on, only forcing her to grab another chair to sit down in. Squishy, on the other hand, sat in another chair beside me while mouthing “comfortable distance” to Kai.
“That’s not the way to get close to me.” She tsk-ed.
“Then what is?” Kai asked with those puppy eyes of his. I’m telling you, they are seriously hard to resist, I don't know how Hwajae does it.
“Sing for her, Kai.” I joked, but I realised he took it seriously when he started preparing his vocal chords.
“Kai, I was just kidding, you don't really have to do that.” I stopped him before he sang out his first note.
“I’ve never heard him sing before though.” Hwajae showed an interested expression.
“So do you want me to, babe?”
“You don't have to. And don't call me that.”
“But what are you good at?” I scanned Kai from head to toe, thinking of what else he could be well-versed in other than dance.
“I’ve taken up rap before.”
“Really? Oh my god, show us!” I clapped like an excited five-year-old.
Kai cleared his throat before cuing Squishy to give him a beat. Surprisingly, I only found out that Squishy knew how to beatbox that day.
By the end of his mini-rap, I was totally captivated. His voice sounded so… badass and rebellious (I couldn’t even find the right words anymore), completely the opposite of Squishy’s sweet honey-like voice.
“That was awesome!” I gave two thumbs up, along with Hwajae whose face was decorated with a proud grin. “Eh your boyfriend’s so talented~”
“Am I close to you yet?” Kai grinned hopefully, face just inches away from hers.
“You don't just ask people whether you’re close to them or not!” She pushed him away.
“What she means to say is yes, she’s all yours.”
