Entry 26
That Particular Boy25.08.2014 (Monday)
So Squishy and I shared bits of our past with each other.
We were chilling out in the shop after a few hours into our shift when Squishy mentioned a topic I didn't exactly want to remember. However, since it was already in the past, I guess it was okay talking about it.
“So… did you have any other boyfriends before you?” Squishy asked with his poker face on, then turning into a serious expression when I didn't reply.
“Um…” I hesitated in answering. I mean, how many would be truly comfortable talking about their ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends?
“It’s okay if you’re uncomfortable with answering! I was just curious, that's all!” He quickly waved it off, frantic that I would be pressurised to share.
“I’m okay with sharing actually, but you have to tell me about yours too.” I joked while punching his arm lightly.
“Okay.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes.”
“I only had one boyfriend before you,” I paused to test the waters, and continued when Squishy gave no reaction, “his name is I joon.”
“Do you still talk to him?”
“No.”
“So what caused your breakup?” He seemed to be hesitant in asking, but he went ahead anyway.
“I guess we just realised we weren’t compatible together. We didn’t last very long, just a short three months starting from my sixteenth birthday.”
“Oh…”
“How about you?”
“I had two.”
“I see…” I nodded knowingly.
“One lasted for about a year from when I was fifteen, and another lasted for two years from when I was eighteen.” He recalled.
“So it means that your last relationship ended only a year ago?!” I asked, a little too agitated.
“Yeah… Is anything wrong?”
“Huh? No! There’s nothing wrong! It’s just- I’m just…”
“Are you by any chance… jealous?” A smirk crawled up to his face as he reached in to pinch my nose.
“Uh no! Definitely not!” I waved my hands and shook my head vigorously, then scratching the back of my head while laughing nervously.
“Hell yeah she is!” A voice yelled from outside the shop. I turned back to see Hwajae, Kai, Hyerin and Hyori.
“Were all of you eavesdropping?!” I got up from my chair and approached them.
“I wouldn't call it eavesdropping if we didn't intentionally hear in on your conversation.” Kai shrugged, but that didn't stop me from landing a hit on his head.
“We were talking face-to-face and not shouting at each other, how in the world did you manage to hear what we were saying?” At that point of time, I was already throwing my arms up in the air in exasperation.
“I have great ears.” He tapped one of his ears while grinning devilishly.
“Still unbelievable.” I rolled my eyes.
“Believe what you will.”
“And you’re here for drinks again?”
“No, we’re here for a haircut.” Hwajae said sarcastically. “Of course we’re here to buy drinks.”
“Okay then.”
As usual, I prepared their orders with Squishy helping me, and it didn't take long for us to finish.
“Here you go.” I passed the drinks to them, and received the payment.
“Have fun with Kyungsoo-hyung!” Kai mentioned in a loud voice while leaving the front of the shop, which seriously gave me the urge of punching him in the gut.
“But not too much fun!” Hwajae sang along, causing Hyerin and Hyori to giggle among themselves. Seriously, them too?
