Squishy. Cookies. Squishy. Cookies.

Why are there so many nicknames? And what are the meanings behind those names?

Well, I guess I’ll keep them hidden in my heart~

I wanted to strangle Hwajae so bad for showing the screenshot of the comments of my post the day before to Kai, because the next thing he did was to send it to Squishy. Of course Squishy was not the one to reveal this particular piece of information to me; I only learned it through Kai’s other screenshot of him sending the picture to Squishy, and he still had the cheek to send it to me.

Luckily, Squishy didn't mention anything about it, and it didn't make things awkward for us, so I turned a blind eye on it. However, he did bring up something interesting.

“Why do you call me ‘Squishy’?” He suddenly asked, causing me to almost drop the cup of mixture I was experimenting with.

“What?” I acted as though I never heard the question, hoping he would let it go.

“Why is my nickname ‘Squishy’?” He rephrased.

“Huh?” This time, I pretended not to understand his question. If I continued to act dumb, then he would stop asking, right?

“Jihyun, ‘Squishy’, why am I ‘Squishy’?” Nope, he would not let it go easily.

I drew in a huge breath before uttering out my answer in a chain of words really fast, without any pause, “Because your cheeks are really squishy and your eyes are so big that it makes your cheeks even squishier. I have the urge to pinch them every time but I can’t so I can only control myself by calling you ‘Squishy’.”

I realised that I closed my eyes in the process of muttering everything out, so I opened one slightly to peek at him.

“Oh I see.” He seemed unamused, his expression unreadable.

“Now that I’ve shared mine, can you tell me why I’m called ‘Cookies’?” I tried my luck.

Squishy let out a soft chuckle before replying, “I believe Kai told you, I quote: he thinks that you look delicious.”

I gave a slight nod absent-mindedly, then my eyes widened when my mind registered what he said. He apparently saw my reaction, because he quickly waved his hands and exclaimed that it was in no way true.

“I like cookies a lot, and I find the small ones especially cute. Also, Oreos are also cookies in a sense, which is the main ingredient in our favourite drink. So a lot of things can be related to cookies, and,” he paused, “I find you cute too, so hence the nickname.”

I blushed at the last part, turning away to hide my face.

He found me cute? I think he’s adorable too!

That might be the main motivation for me to pinch his cheek, because I actually did. I regretted my action just a second after doing it, but his hand reached out to do the same to me, which filled my stomach with butterflies, causing me to forget all about regretting what I did.

“Uh… I think I should get back to my mixes…” I stuttered before turning to the cups I laid out.

“Okay.” Squishy went to the other corner of the shop after gave me two pats on the head.
