CHAPTER 61

A lot of things changed for the worst since the vampire queen had woken up. Dahyun looked around her surroundings as she and Taecyeon were driving to a secluded area.

“Come on, before someone would notice,” he said as he offered his hand to help Dahyun get off a very old rusty car. She watched him get some large leaves and trunks to cover the car.

*Thunder* *Thunder*

She looked up at the dark sky as the rain washed off her bloodied appearance. Taecyeon noticed how dull her eyes unlike before when it was bright.

“Just what she had been through all these years? Taecyeon thought. However, he did not want to waste anymore time, afraid that some vampires roaming around might notice them, he motioned for Dahyung to follow him.

They didn’t talk as it was better to move in silence. Taecyeon led her to a sewage entrance and from there they walked in many directions. Dahyun lost count of how many times they turned right and left even down to some secret entrance. It went for almost an hour before the sound of the rain began to be heard again.

“Five years ago, we lost the fight against the vampires. They were just too strong. The Alpha Queen decided to save what could still be saved. This is how this place was created, our little sanctuary, with all creatures living together as one” Taecyeon began to speak updating Dahyun on what had transpired while she was gone.

“H-how are you alive? I thought you died during that time” Dahyun asked, it was the very first thing she wanted to ask when she saw the man.

“I thought so too. I was barely breathing when the vampires got me but some of my men were able to rescue me while the vampires were trying to bring me to their palace. I’d say I owed my men my life” he explained.

“Ho-how is she?” Dahyun hesitatingly asked. Taecyeon exactly knew who she was referring to.

“They are waiting for us at the main base. Pardon me but I might have to transform to my form and carry you on the way there. The path we are going is not really meant for two-legged creatures” Taecyeon said.

Dahyun did not ask any further sensing that all her questions will be answered once she arrived at the main base. She then saw Taecyeon transformed to his wolf form, and he guided her to his back.

With her barefoot, she went up to Taecyeon’s back and held tight on him before he finally ran using his wolf speed.

From afar, she could see some people waiting by the gate. It was already in the middle of the night but the whole community was still awake. Shocked by the news about finally finding Dahyun.

At the center of the crowd was none other than the person Dahyun longed to see. Taecyeon helped her get off his back and he bowed to the Alpha in respect. He was still in wolf form but as soon as he received Sana’s acknowledgment, he bid goodbye to Dahyun and went away.
