Scared Minki ft Dongho (Baekho of NU'EST)

Chapter 25

"Found him!" Sandara called out, seeing the back of the little boy who was sitting on his knees by a wagon selling balloons. They hadn't searched for long, only managed to look around, before Sandara noticed him.

Baekhyun and Chanyeol hurried towards them, as Sandara had taken Taehyung by the hand to walk over to his parents with him.

"Do not run away again!" Baekhyun said to his son. Sandara backed away, going over to the others.

"We get really worried, Taehyung," Chanyeol joined in. The boy looked at the ground with a pout, showing his regret. But only for a couple of seconds, then he looked back up, already being over what happened and his parents' scolding.

"Can I get one of those balloons?" Taehyung pleaded and pouted towards the wagon he'd been sitting by before.

Chanyeol sighed and took the boy's hand, as they left to go buy a balloon. Taehyung had the biggest smile on his face, and Baekhyun stayed back, sighing as Jongdae came over to him.

"You okay?" he asked his friend. Baekhyun shook his head.

"Is it me?" he asked and Jongdae furrowed his eyebrows confused. "Is he like that because of me?"

"You mean the way he runs off?" Jongdae asked, and the lost puppy nodded with a sad face. "Of course not!" Jongdae put his arm around Baekhyun's shoulders. "He's just... energetic... On the other hand; maybe it is actually because of you..." Jongdae thought aloud teasingly, and earned an even more pouting Baekhyun by his side. Jongdae grinned and squeezed his shoulder. "Relax, I was only joking! Your kid is not bad. He's a happy boy, curious, but he will always come back. You always find him. Nothing's going to happen to him!"

Baekhyun turned his head and looked at Taehyung, who came back with a string attached to a lion formed balloon, the smile never leaving his face.

"Eomma, look!" he said with a grin, staring at his balloon. Baekhyun smiled.

"Yeah," he said. "It's pretty cool." Taehyung smiled even bigger, and Chanyeol and Jongdae couldn't help but smile too.

"We're trying the drop tower now! You coming, uncles?" Ji Yong called to them. Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Jongdae and Taehyung walked over to the line where the rest of them stood.

"Who's trying it?" Chanyeol asked them.

"Me, Taemin and Sehun," Yi Fan answered him.

"And the kids?"

"Luna, Ji Yong and Amber," he said.

"I'm trying it, too," Chanhee stated.

Baekhyun noticed Lu Han standing by the side, looking awfully nervous.

"What's up, hyung?" Baekhyun smirked at him.

"What if he's going to be scared up there... It's really high," Lu Han replied, turning his face to the sky to look up at the ride.

"He hasn't inherited your fear of heights, hyung," Jongdae grinned as he'd heard his worry. Lu Han still looked nervous, though. Then he made up his mind.

"Chanhee, you're not going up there." He sounded firm, but hidden behind his words, a little hesitation could also be heard.

"What?" Chanhee looked shocked up at his baba. "But, baba...!"

"I'm sorry," Lu Han said. "But there's just so much that could happen up there."

"But how come hyung is allowed then?" Chanhee raised his voice, getting upset. It wasn't fair that his brother was allowed, but not him. There were only like five years difference!

"Maybe I don't want him to go up there either," Lu Han argued.

"I'm trying it!" Ji Yong exclaimed abruptly, not feeling that he was being treated fairly, along with his brother.

"But maybe..." Lu Han began again, but Sehun interrupted him.

"If they want to try it, then let them, hyung. They are not scared. And me, Taemin hyung and Yi Fan hyung are going with them," he said gently, trying to solve the problem.

"Can I try it?" Junhong asked then, looking up at his appa as he was standing by his feet.

"No, you're too young," Sehun cut him off.

"But I'm not scared." Junhong had turned his attention to the high ride.

"I don't care. You do what I say," Sehun just said. Junhong pouted and Zitao patted his head.

"Um, I think you just did something contradicting to what you said before, Sehunnie," Baekhyun said with a snort. Sehun furrowed his eyebrows as he considered it. Junhong was too young for it, Sehun thought... but either way, he was still too short to try the drop tower! And that was what counted, right? He wasn't contradicting himself... was he...?

"Appa, can I try the ride?" Chanhee decided to ask Minseok, not wanting to listen to his baba.

Lu Han looked pleadingly at his husband, as if he was saying he needed to be on his side on this matter.

Minseok sighed. Chanhee looked from his appa to his baba. Something in Minseok's eyes told Lu Han, that he was not going to agree with him. He sighed too.

"Fine, Chanhee," Lu Han said. "You can try the ride. You too, Ji Yong. But! Appa is going to try it as well." Lu Han looked at Minseok, and Minseok knew he could not argue against this. Lu Han may seem weak and somehow like someone to push around, but he wasn't. At times where he meant something truly, he was going to get his way. That was a thing Minseok liked and admired about him. He wasn't one to complain.

Chanhee smiled and stood next to Amber and Luna, who were already standing in line.

"Chanyeol hyung, don't you want to try it, too?" Taemin asked. "It's going to be so fun!"

Chanyeol smiled. It probably would be fun. He nodded.

"Jongdae hyung, what about you?" Taemin asked Jongdae. He hesitated.

"Oh come on, Chen-Chen!" Baekhyun teased. Jongdae glared at him. He wanted to tease Baekhyun, too, but he knew that the boy genuinely didn't like rides like that, and he wasn't going to force him into that position.

"Yeah, come on, hyung!" Sehun joined in. "Or are you afraid?"

"I think he's afraid!" Sandara stated loudly with a teasing smirk, as she stood in the line behind the kids. "I don't think he dares to try it."

Jongdae glared at her with a smirk, hesitantly. She stuck out her tongue at him and he pressed his lips together to a thin line with narrowed eyes, trying to look mad, jokingly.

"Appa, are you going to try it?" Jongdae looked down and saw Jonghyun. "I think you can do it." Jongdae couldn't help but smile at his boy who seemed to believe that his appa could do anything. He patted his head.

"Yeah, I am. I'm going to try it." He kissed Jonghyun's forehead and stood in the line. The kids cheered for them as they watched them going up into the air. There were different reactions as it was going up: Chanhee, Luna, Ji Yong, Sandara, Sehun and Taemin were screaming with happiness and laughter, whereas the others seemed more scared, yet still having fun.

It took only 1 minute before all of them were down on the ground again. Jongdae walked wobbly towards Kyungsoo.

"How was it?" Kyungsoo asked him, not really sure if it was a happy or frightened expression he was sporting. Jongdae smiled.

"It was awesome! But my legs are shaking; I don't think I can walk properly. It was so wild!"

Kyungsoo smiled at him, happy that he had enjoyed it.

"So?" Lu Han asked his family as they walked over to him. "Was it fun?" He sounded nervous.

"It was really fun!" Chanhee chirped. "You should have tried it!"

Lu Han tried hiding his slight wince by the thought of it. "I'm glad you had fun," he said, and then mumbled: "I wouldn't have survived if I tried it..." He turned to Ji Yong. "Did you find it nice, too?"

Ji Yong nodded. "It was so much fun!" He smiled.

All of them slowly began walking again, some of them a bit wobbly from the wild experience, and continued talking about it.

"Did you like it?" Zitao asked Sehun, as he put his arm around his waist.

"Mmh," Sehun said nodding. "It was cool."

"My hero," Zitao smirked. "Not afraid of anything." Sehun smirked too and kissed his lips, as they kept walking.

"Oh, we should totally go in there!" Amber exclaimed, as she stood in front of a haunted house. A shiver went through Zitao.

"Or not," he said, continued walking as he avoided to look at the house.

"Oh, come on, that's just because you're scared!" Amber called out for him. Zitao stopped in his tracks, making Sehun, who walked beside him, stop, too. Sehun turned his head to look at Zitao, and he could see that he wanted to turn around and prove them wrong or at least say something back to Amber, but he couldn't. He was too scared; he could already feel him slight shivering.

Sehun turned around for his husband's sake.

"It's not because he's afraid," Sehun said. Zitao looked at him with raised eyebrows, a bit surprised that he defended him. "It's just a stupid game, that's why."

"Then you go in there, uncle Sehun," Ji Yong smirked. Sehun gulped.

"Don't joke with them, Ji Yong." Minseok put his hand on his son's shoulder. "There's nothing wrong with being scared. It's perfectly normal!" the older said with a serious tone, yet there was something slight teasing about it, making Sehun and Zitao glare at him.

"Let's not listen to him, Sehun, let's just go." Zitao took Sehun's arm and attempted to walk away, but Sehun stood still. Minseok innocently raised his eyebrow, obviously aware of the soft spot he had hit on the maknae.

"Is it scary, papa?" Jonghyun asked Kyungsoo, looking up at him. Kyungsoo hesitated.

"No, it's not scary," Jongdae came with what he thought of as a rescue. "Well, for some it is," he added guiltily, when he received a look from Kyungsoo, telling him that Jongdae had just called him a sissy. "There are some very hard working actors in there," he continued, and Kyungsoo just slightly shook his head at the attempt, making Jongdae shut his mouth close.

"Can I go in there, appa?" Minki was almost jumping up and down in excitement, his eyes fixed on the dark house.

"No!" Joonmyun said immediately and firmly. Minki pouted.

"But look at it! It's so awesome and scary and funny and..." Minki continued.

"A no is a no, Minki. I don't want you to go in there," Joonmyun ended the discussion, and Minki pouted even more, walking over to his sister.

"But can I go?" Amber hesitated, looking at her appa and eomma.

Joonmyun hesitated as well, knowing that his older daughter could withstand slightly more horror than his youngest son. Amber looked pleadingly at him. "Okay, then," he finally said and Amber beamed, right as Minki pouted even more looking real unsatisfied with his father. "But not alone!" Amber rolled her eyes.

"Like I would go in there alone," she said. "Aron's coming with me! Right, Aron?" Aron nodded.

"If I can for my parents?" He looked hopeful at Yi Fan and Yixing.

Yixing hesitated. "Okay, if you really want to. Are you sure you won't regret it?" Aron nodded. Yi Fan pulled Yixing to the side.

"What if he gets scared? I'm not sure it's a good idea to let him into such a house... It can be really scary," Yi Fan said quietly, so none other than his husband could hear.

"I'm not going to stand between my son's wishes. If this is something he really wants, I'll support it," Yixing argued.

"He's eight!" Yi Fan exclaimed.

"Yeah, and exactly therefore he needs our support. But if he does regret it or gets scared and he needs us, we shall be there for him as well. Understand?" Yixing looked anticipating at his husband.

Yi Fan sighed. "Fine. But I don't want him to crawl into our bed tonight..." Yixing just rolled his eyes and turned to Aron.

"You can go in there," he said with a smile. Aron smiled back.

"But not alone!" Joonmyun interfered, before the kids could go in there. "You need a supervisor."

"Sure, but who? Everyone's afraid of it." Amber smirked and rolled her eyes teasingly, as she knew all the adults would get embarrassed. Joonmyun looked around, searching for someone perfect for the task.

"Minseok hyung!" he exclaimed and Minseok looked surprised at him with wide eyes. "Can you please go into the haunted house with the kids? They need someone to look after them."

"Sure." Minseok shrugged, after not much thought. He really didn't have much of a problem with haunted houses; he knew it was only actors in there, and they were just as much human as he was. Also it was a lot easier if he was just calm, quiet and prepared for what was coming; then they couldn't scare him.

"Eomma, appa, can I go in there, too?" Byunghun asked his parents, after he'd talked with Amber and Aron.

Taemin wasn't sure of what to answer his son. He himself liked haunted houses; he found them fun and wasn't scared at all - well, most times. But with Byunghun it was different. Byunghun could watch horror movies, but sometimes he'd get really scared and have nightmares. He was just a kid! Therefore he wasn't sure of how Byunghun would react when he was placed in the middle of the horror himself.

His husband also hesitated at Byunghun's question. Jongin hated haunted houses. He wasn't as scared as Zitao; he just didn't like them. It was like they shoved the worst in him to the surface, and he didn't want that. He didn't want to seem scared - even though he was a little - so he decided to agree with Byunghun's request; he didn't want to seem uncool.

"Okay, Byunghun," Jongin replied.

"Cool. Are you coming with us?" Byunghun asked them after receiving his first answer.

"No!" Jongin said, maybe a little too fast considering the surprised raised eyebrows on his son's face. Taemin was also shaking his head; even though he liked haunted houses, he didn't really feel like entering one today. He grabbed Jongin's hand, calming his husband down and telling him with that action that it was okay to be scared. Byunghun just shrugged at his parents and went over to his cousins.

"Appa, can I go with you?" Sohee asked Minseok, who looked surprised at first, but then he nodded and extended his hand for her to take. She smiled and grabbed her appa's hand.

"Can I go?" Taehyung wondered, looking mesmerized at the building.

"No," Baekhyun said and took his son's hand, pulling him away from the entrance and building. "No, you cannot." Taehyung just shrugged and crouched to the ground as he saw a ladybug.

"Jongdae, maybe you should go as well," Yi Fan told Jongdae, as he noticed how 'many' kids there were planning on going.

"Okay," Jongdae said with a shrug. He was actually the least scared member. He didn't believe in ghosts or anything else similar to the spirit world.

As all six persons went inside the house, the remaining people sat down on benches with a mirroring sigh.

"I don't know how they can do it," Zitao mumbled as he leaned against Sehun's shoulder, having Junhong on his lap.

Sehun shook his head. "Me neither."

"Dammit, Park Chanyeol! Your son is driving me crazy!" they heard Baekhyun exclaim and they looked up to the side, where Baekhyun was pacing back and forth apparently looking for something.

"It's not my fault!" Chanyeol said, walking nervously around, too. "He's just as much yours as he is mine. If not more..." he mumbled the last thing, but unfortunately Baekhyun heard it.

"What did you just say?" His gaze could shoot lightning as he stepped towards Chanyeol.

"Nothing!" Chanyeol put his hands up in surrender with innocent eyes.

"That's right!" Baekhyun growled, pointing a finger close to Chanyeol's face. "Because if...!"

"Hey!" Kyungsoo stood up, getting in the middle of the two, his hands outstretched so they couldn't reach each other. "Calm down, you two! What's going on?" He looked from one to the other.

"My son's missing!" Baekhyun growled, backing away, looking for the child.

"He's my son, too! Just right before, you even said that he was my son yourself!" Chanyeol said, almost stepping forward towards Baekhyun, but Kyungsoo stopped him, putting his hand on his chest and glaring warningly up at him.

"Stop," Kyungsoo demanded Chanyeol. "Let's just find Taehyung."

"And Minki! Minki's missing, too!" Taeyeon called as she stood from her seat, looking around for her boy, together with Joonmyun.

Most of the parents stood as well, looking for the two missing boys; though some of them needed to stay with the kids, making sure no one else would go missing. Suddenly they heard Lu Han call.

"I found them! They are here!"

Joonmyun, Taeyeon, Baekhyun and Chanyeol looked to where Lu Han was, before running over to the three: Lu Han had noticed the two boys getting out of the entrance to the haunted house, both of them in tears. He was now carrying the two kids towards their parents.

"My baby," Taeyeon said as she took Minki from Lu Han's arms. She hugged the kid and gently shook him from side to side, comforting him, while Joonmyun thanked Lu Han and rubbed circles on the five-year-old's back.

Baekhyun took Taehyung from Lu Han as well, hugging him so tightly, like he would never let him go again, and whispering comforting words in his ear. Chanyeol tried hugging the boy as well, but Baekhyun shot him a death glare, walking away from him and leaving Chanyeol dumbfounded.

"What...?" Chanyeol fumbled with the words, and Lu Han just patted his back.

"Why would you go inside the haunted house?" Baekhyun asked Taehyung, as the boy's crying had calmed down.

"I... I wanted to see it..." he hiccupped. Baekhyun just hugged him with a slight sigh.

"I don't like... haunted house..." Minki mumbled as he cuddled in his eomma's arms.

"I know, sweetie, I know," Taeyeon comforted.

"I want Dongho!" Minki exclaimed.

"Dongho?" His eomma looked confused at him.

"Yes, Dongho! I want my tiger," Minki said.

"Oh," Taeyeon realized and found the stuffed animal from her bag, handing it to him as he smiled and hugged the toy.

As the people who had been in the haunted house came out, both children had stopped crying. Aron walked out with wide horrid eyes looking almost like he was about to cry, holding Minseok's hand. So did Byunghun, but with Jongdae's arm around his shoulders instead. Amber and Sohee on the other hand were laughing and talking about what they'd just experienced.

Aron let go of Minseok's hand and went over to his parents, staring at them with big eyes.

"What's wrong, Aron?" Yixing asked worried. Aron couldn't speak, he just swung his arms around his baba. Yixing and Yi Fan shared surprised expressions, but soon realized what was wrong. Yixing patted the boy's back.

"It's okay, Aron," he said. "Was it very scary?" Aron nodded his head, burying it further in Yixing's chest.

"But don't tell the others, okay?" Aron suddenly looked up at them, afraid his cousins might make fun of him.

"We won't, don't worry, Aron. Though there's nothing wrong with being scared," Yi Fan said and patted his head. Aron nodded and buried his head in Yixing's chest again. Yi Fan nodded and smiled thankfully at Minseok, who returned the look with a nod.

Byunghun also hurried over to his parents, walking away from Jongdae's protecting arm and the two girls who just kept talking. Byunghun put his arms around his eomma's neck, before his parents could even manage to say anything. Taemin patted his back.

"Well," Taemin said after a while, as he tried looking at the bright side. "Now you know you don't have to try it another time."

A/N: Taehyung was easy to find, luckily! But then he and Minki got lost... They're just so curious... keke XD And now BaekYeol is fighting. What to do...

This amusement park segment is longer than I figured. I hope you don't mind, though ^_^ Next chapter will be the last in the park!
