Chapter 17
How I Met Your AppaIn the spirit of halloween I will leave you EXO M in "party" mood
Chapter 17
In the evening they all sat together in the living room. The kids were waiting excitedly for a continuation of the story and the parents were quietly making themselves comfortable; Sandara was also patiently waiting, as she didn't feel like having much else to do. Finally the parents were ready, and Chanyeol took the word.
"So last night Taemin and Jongin began the story of how they became boyfriends and why they broke up. The next story is also about Jongin," Chanyeol smirked and the kids looked interested at Jongin, who sighed by himself.
"Okay, fine," he said. "After me and Taemin broke up, I was devastated. But luckily Sehun was a good friend and comforted me." Jongin looked at Sehun and they smiled to each other. They weren't really sure of how to tell the kids about their relationship though.
"And what happened next?" Jonghyun asked.
"Well, me and Sehun were..." Jongin started, but didn't know how to finish.
"Your uncle Sehun and uncle Jongin were boyfriends," Jongdae finished for him with a smirk, as the kids looked surprised from Jongdae to Sehun and Jongin.
"Really?" Byunghun asked.
"Yeah, but the others didn't like it," Jongin said.
"It ended after only two weeks. And it was before our debut," Sehun said.
"Why were you only together for two weeks?" Ji Yong looked confused. Sehun and Jongin looked at each other.
"We just weren't meant to be," Jongin said, still looking at Sehun. Sehun nodded agreeing.
Baekhyun couldn't help but laugh at this. Jongin just shot him a death glare.
"Why?" Hayoung asked.
"We weren't in love," Sehun answered, hoping she didn't notice the missing anymore, as there had never been an anymore.
There was a moment of silence. Nobody knew what to say. Then Taehyung broke the silence.
"Tell us some more."
They started telling about an ordinary day right after their debut. It was in the time they were apart: EXO K was promoting in Korea and EXO M was promoting in China.
It was evening. EXO M had had schedules all day, with a show they had to perform at and interviews both before and after. They were all very tired and exhausted when they came back to their dorm. Tao let himself fall onto the couch.
"I'm so tired!" he whined and closed his eyes.
"You can't sleep here, Tao," Xiumin stated and looked at the boy laying on the couch, who looked like he could be falling asleep every minute it should be.
"Who are you to say that," the youngest mumbled, still with closed eyes.
"Tao, Xiumin's right; don't sleep on the couch. Go to our room and sleep there, or stay in here and do something else," Kris said.
"Fine," Tao growled and sat up. He took out his phone and started playing on it. "I won't sleep then."
Kris rolled his eyes at him and sat down on the couch.
"Well, I'm going to sleep now," Xiumin said. "After I've taken a bath, of course." He went to his room to find clean clothes before going to the bathroom.
Chen sighed and bumped onto the couch. He closed his eyes and leaned against Kris' shoulder. "I'm tired, hyung," he stated with an almost whisper of a voice.
"I know," Kris said and patted his head. "After Xiumin has taken his bath, you can clean up too." Chen nodded. Then he changed his mind.
"Maybe I'll just go to sleep without bathing," he mumbled, slowly sitting up straight, getting ready to stand on his feet again.
"Ugh!" Tao made a sound. "I couldn't do that. I would never go to bed without washing."
Chen huffed. "Sure, Tao, like you've never gone to bed without bathing before."
"I haven't!" Tao looked up from his phone and stared convincingly at Chen.
"I know you have, Zitao, you can't fool me," Chen said with a slight smirk as he stood up. "I'm going to bed. Without bathing!" he said over his shoulder when he started walking to his room. Tao huffed and turned his attention to his phone again.
"I'll watch TV," Luhan said and took the remote control. He turned his attention to a Chinese Drama series that was playing on the television. Lay sat down beside him, watching the drama as well. He looked very tired, and seemed as if he could fall asleep any minute, though he seemed like he was waiting for Xiumin to finish his shower so he could take one himself, before moving to his bed.
Kris took out his phone, quickly texting a message to someone. Only a minute later he got a response. Kris smiled slightly and dialed up the number.
"Hey, Suho!" he said into the phone.
"Hi, Kris hyung, how are you?" it sounded on the other end.
"I'm fine. The kids are tired, but we manage. How are you?"
"It's all good here too, though we're all tired. Right now I'm lying in my bed, trying to stay awake... but not because I don't enjoy talking with you!" Suho quickly added.
Kris smiled. "That's okay, I know what you meant. I'm tired too." There was silence on the other end before Suho responded.
"I miss you."
Kris couldn't help but smile again, and he instantly felt a lump in his throat and a sting to his eyes. He had to clear his throat, before saying, "I miss you too. All of you." He could almost see Suho's face in front of him, with a smile from the words and tears threatening in his eyes by the mere feeling of missing them. He knew he probably couldn't speak a word, scared that his voice would crack, so Kris took over.
"It's hard not to see you every day. I want to see the other kids' development too. I don't want to miss their steps," he said. "I'd wish we could all just be a whole group together."
"We are a whole group, don't think otherwise," Suho said. His voice didn't crack, but it sounded a bit hoarse as if he'd wanted to clear his throat but didn't want to let Kris know about his sadness. "And the managers told us that we'd soon get a debut together. As a whole group."
They stayed silent again.
"How are Chanyeol's dancing coming?" Kris asked.
"It's slightly becoming better..." Kris could hear that Suho hesitated. "How about Tao's attitude?"
"It's a bit better. He's not as nervous at interviews as he was in the beginning. But more practice is never bad."
The two talked for about an hour. They talked about everything; they talked about the members, the things they've done the past days, and they talked about how much they looked forward to see one another again. When Kris hung up the phone, Lay had went to bed and Luhan was yawning as he turned off the television. Kris looked to his side and smiled: Tao was fully asleep, leaning against a cushion and holding onto his phone.
"Minseok's not going to be happy about that," Luhan stated tiredly.
"Nope," Kris said and stood up. "But that's Zitao's problem."
Luhan giggled. "Yeah, right."
The kids listened to the story with interest in their eyes. And as they finished, they looked around anticipating for another to tell more.
"I think we called each other every day," Yi Fan said and looked at Joonmyun.
"I'm sure we did. And the days we didn't, we texted. But sometimes we were too tired of course..." Joonmyun said.
"But hey!" Luna exclaimed. "None of you were together at that time. How is this relevant? Not to be rude or anything uncle Yi Fan and uncle Joonmyun..." She looked at the floor a bit embarrassed, but Yi Fan and Joonmyun just smiled at her.
"It's okay, Luna," Yi Fan said.
"We just thought you'd all want to hear about those things too," Joonmyun added, exchanging a glance with Yi Fan.
"I want to hear about it, appa," Minki said, climbing on top of Joonmyun's lap. He'd been sleeping until dinner time, and after that he'd been all fine. He hadn't talked about the accident from earlier and was basically his usual happy self.
Joonmyun smiled at him. "But if the others don't, let's not make them, Minki." Minki nodded.
"So do you all just want to hear about how we got together?" Yixing asked, and most of the children nodded.
"But if something exciting happened other than that, we want to hear that too..." Sohee said, and the others nodded once again agreeing.
The adults understood.
"So who was the first ones to become boyfriends?" Aron asked. "Other than uncle Jongin and uncle Sehun of course."
Baekhyun raised his hand. "Me and Chanyeol."
"Really?" His son looked admiring at him and Baekhyun nodded.
"So you and uncle Chanyeol weren't together with anyone else?" Byunghun asked. "Like the rest of them." He looked at his appa, who widened his eyes surprised by his son's words.
Chanyeol grinned. "Well, I haven't. But you may want to check with your aunt again." Baekhyun glared at him with narrowed eyes, as Chanyeol had made all the kids look at his husband with their mouth opened.
"I weren't really together with anyone. But you'll get that story later. When we come to that in the timeline," Baekhyun said through a thin line being his lips. Chanyeol just laughed.
A/N: Good evening ~ This chapter was a bit shorter, but I hope you don't mind. In this chapter there was a bit of the leaders' relationship (I'm not saying they dated, no - but I'm not saying they didn't either. Keke) and how they look out for all the members and missed each other when they weren't promoting together. They kind of sound like a mom and dad.
Anyways, I've been sick this week :( So I've pretty much just lied around watching videos and writing... Not that that's a bad thing at all! ;)
