Chapter 20

"Where do we begin?" Baekhyun asked Chanyeol with a smile.

"When did you first realize how you felt for the other person?" Taemin asked.

"Yeah, why don't you start there?" Yi Fan said.

"Okay." Baekhyun smiled. He looked at the kids who all waited patiently. "I realized my feelings before Chanyeol - he was a bit slow." The kids giggled and Chanyeol pouted.

"Hey!" he exclaimed. "I wasn't slow."

"Yeah, you were, but it's okay," Baekhyun said with a smirk.

"Anyways, I first realized my feelings when..." Baekhyun began telling his story.

"Just admit it! You're not really just friends, are you?" Sehun exclaimed teasingly.

"Yeah, everyone can see it! Even the fans!" Kai laughed with him.

"We're just friends!" Chanyeol laughed.

"Yeah, unlike you two, we're not going to hook up with any band member." That comment made Sehun and Kai shut up, as they glared at Baekhyun. They sat on the floor in the practice room eating pizza. They had been practicing hard all day, but right now they were hungry and had decided to eat before they would have to practice more.

"Besides I'm not gay," Chanyeol said.

Baekhyun looked at the ground. He didn't know what it was he felt in his stomach. But he shook it off. Probably nothing.

"What about you and Chen, Baekhyun?" Suho asked, about to take a bite of his slice. "You seem pretty close too."

"We're just friends. Can we please just move on?" Apparently this seemed to get Baekhyun on his nerves, but he didn't know what for. What was it that he was feeling in his stomach? Maybe it was just the pizza? He stood up. "I'm finished. Can we continue practicing?"

"But, Baekhyun, there's still food left, and we're not done yet," Suho said, a bit startled by Baekhyun's previous stern voice. "But if you're not hungry, you can just practice or relax. We'll let you know when we're done." Baekhyun nodded and went to the other corner where he sat down, pulling out his phone and earphones, listening to some music to calm himself down. Why had he just snapped at the others?

"What's wrong with him?" Sehun asked the others with a whisper. Kai shrugged.

"I don't know," Chanyeol said, looking worried at Baekhyun's direction.

At 1 am they were done with practice. They had went back to their dorm exhausted and now all of them took turns waiting for the shower.

Baekhyun was sitting on his bed when Chanyeol came into their shared room.

"I'm done showering. You can go ahead now," Chanyeol said with a smile at Baekhyun. Baekhyun looked up at him and noticed he was wearing nothing but a towel around his body. He could feel the heat to his cheeks and quickly stood up, trying to hide his probably already red face.

"Thank you." He took his clean clothes and went to the bathroom, avoiding all eye contact with the boy he shared a room with. As he came to the bathroom, he closed the door tightly and leant up against it. Why was his heart pounding so hard in his chest? He sighed and shook his head, trying to forget what he'd been pondering about all day. Then he undressed himself and the water.

He'd been in there for roughly twenty minutes, spending much more time in the shower than needed and like he usually did, but somehow it relaxed him to stand under the wet, streaming water that ran all over his body. He liked the feeling and it made him forget about the things he didn't want to be thinking of. About how his heart had raced faster when he saw Chanyeol's almost body, or the aching in his stomach about the conversation earlier. He didn't know what it was. Or at least he wished that he didn't know. Maybe it wasn't even true. But he had an idea and he didn't like it.

Someone knocked on the door.

"Baekhyun?!" It was D.O,'s voice. "You can't spend half an hour in the bathroom, well knowing that there are others who need showering as well! It's freaking half past 2 am in the morning and we need some sleep too!"

Baekhyun opened the door, as he pulled his shirt over his head. "Then maybe you should stop yelling so that others can get some sleep."

D.O. groaned and stepped aside him, slamming the door at Baekhyun's back. Baekhyun huffed with a smirk as he went to his room. Chanyeol was laying in his bed, playing on his phone.

"Why aren't you sleeping yet?" Baekhyun asked him as he sat down on his own bed.

"I wanted to wait for you. Or else you wouldn't be able to see when you came into the dark room." Chanyeol smiled at him and put his phone on the night stand. Baekhyun smiled back. "Or maybe I just didn't want to risk you waking me up." Chanyeol smirked and Baekhyun stuck out his tongue at him.

The next morning they also had practice all day. It was right after their debut and they had to keep in shape, practicing for better and stronger performances.

Everything went fine; Baekhyun had forgotten all about the things from yesterday and they were all happy and sweaty from practice. Until it was break time and Baekhyun decided to have some water. Then Chanyeol suddenly decided to tickle him so that he spat it all out.

"Chanyeol!" Baekhyun exclaimed, looking down at himself: his shirt was wet and there was a small puddle by his feet, thanks to the water bottle he had had in his hand when Chanyeol attacked him. Chanyeol just laughed together with the others.

"That looked so funny!" Sehun laughed from his seat on the floor.

"It's not funny!" Baekhyun whined. "Now I'm completely wet!"

"I know!" Chanyeol laughed. Baekhyun squinted his eyes at him, decided to get revenge. He swung his arm back and then with the right goal in sight, he swung it back forth, the bottle in hand, soaking Chanyeol himself. Chanyeol opened his mouth and widened his eyes as the cold water hit him, shocked looking down at himself, then back at Baekhyun.

"You!" he exclaimed and started running after Baekhyun, with the others laughing at them - except for Suho.

"Guys!" he tried to settle them down, but got ignored.

"Hey!" Their dance teacher came back into the room, lightning in his eyes. "What's going on in here?!" he yelled and looked around the room from the two puddles on the floor, to the kids, who had all stopped in their tracks looking down at the floor as he'd come in. "Answer me."

"I'm sorry, it was my fault." Chanyeol stepped forward and bowed apologetically.

"And mine..." Baekhyun looked at the floor, as he also stepped forward.

"Of course it was," the teacher said with a sigh. "If you two can't handle it, then maybe you shouldn't be here. You need to be serious. Can you do that?!"

"Yes, sir," Baekhyun and Chanyeol answered, bowing their bodies in an apologetic and formal matter.

"Okay, good. Let's continue the practice then," the teacher told and everyone went back to their places, as he started instructing them in their dance.

In the evening, as they came back to their dormitory, no one spoke. No one had mentioned the thing from earlier, probably all deciding that it belonged to the past now. Except for Baekhyun. He couldn't stop thinking about it. He didn't like that it had put them in trouble, but he actually didn't mind that Chanyeol had . He liked the kind of attention it got him from Chanyeol. It sounded weird, but he did. Even though he didn't like to admit it. He really didn't want to admit it, because that meant he could confirm his theory about why he kept thinking about these things. And he didn't want that.

He would have to talk to someone. But who?

Today he was the last one to take a shower. And that meant he could use as much time in there as he wanted. He had told Chanyeol that he could just go to bed, and he promised him that he would be really quiet and that he wouldn't wake him up when he got back.

He had taken his phone with him to the bathroom, so he could be alone talking with the one he needed to talk to. At first he had thought about talking with Kyungsoo at the dormitory, but then he figured Kyungsoo wouldn't really have any good answers ready for him. And he would only judge him, telling him to forget about it and stuff.

He couldn't talk to the maknaes, because they would just laugh at him or tell anyone. And Suho, well, he couldn't really talk with him either.

So he decided to call his best friend - like there had been a choice to begin with!

"Jongdae!" he said into the phone, a smile growing on his face, as it had been forever since they had talked.

"Baekhyun." He sounded tired, like he'd just woken up.

"Were you sleeping?" Baekhyun asked.

"No, we just came back from practice. I'm lying in my bed, waiting for that slow maknae to finish up his shower."

Baekhyun couldn't help but giggle.

"How are you, Baekkie? It's been so long since I last saw you. Have you grown?"

Baekhyun tried covering his smile with sounding offended. "Hey, what are you to complain about my height? You're not allowed to call me small, when you're at least as tall as I am!"

"I'm taller than you!" Baekhyun could hear he was laughing and he couldn't help but laugh himself.

"Hey, listen," Baekhyun suddenly became serious. "There's something I need to speak with you about."

"What is it?" Chen became serious too, as he asked his friend on the verge of getting worried.

"It's about Chanyeol..." Baekhyun started and began telling. "I can't seem to stop thinking about him, Jongdae. Yesterday something happened, which weirdly enough, made me feel something in my stomach. And I saw him half , which made my heart race faster! And today...!"

"Wait, Baekhyun, calm down! One thing at a time!" Chen interrupted. "What happened yesterday? And why did you see him half ?!" Baekhyun giggled at Chen's confused voice.

"Because he came out of the shower," Baekhyun explained. "And it was something about, the others teasing us with, that we were more than just friends, and something about even the fans know it, or something... stupid things..."

Chen was quiet on the other end for a minute, then he asked: "And what happened today?"

"Nothing really, but he tickled me and I can't stop thinking about it..." Baekhyun bit his lower lip. "Chennie, I can't stop thinking about him..."

He could hear that Chen sighed. "I don't know what to say, Baekhyun... Do you think you like him?"

"Of course I like him!"

He could almost see Chen roll his eyes. "I mean do you like like him? Are you in love with him?"

Baekhyun hesitated. "I don't know," he said. "But what if I am, Jongdae? I don't know what to do!"

"First you need to figure out if you like him or not, Baekkie. Because if you don't truly like him and you tell him..."

"I can't tell him! What are you thinking?!" Baekhyun exclaimed.

"Why not? I mean, if you really are in love with him, he should know. What if he's in love with you too? He deserves to know then. Maybe you rob yourself of your happy ending, if you don't tell him."

"He's not into guys. He doesn't like me like that. And if I tell him, he would find me disgusting or he wouldn't want to be friends anymore or he won't be my roommate anymore...! I can't risk that."

"He won't find you disgusting! He knows about Sehun and Jongin being gay, and he doesn't have a problem with that. Chanyeol is not that superficial."

"I know," Baekhyun sighed.

"Baekkie," Chen said after a while. "If you're in love with Chanyeol, I'm happy for you and support you. If you decide to tell him, I support you. And even if he rejects a beautiful creature like you, I'm here for you. No matter what, you can count on me."

Baekhyun smiled. "Thank you. I love you."

"I love you too, you confused little creature."

"And I promise I'll let you know when I find out about my feelings."

There was silence on the other end, before Chen said, "Good night, Baekkie."

"Good night, Chen-chen." Baekhyun smiled as he hung up the phone. He was happy after his phone call with Chen, and was happy to have such a good best friend.

The kids looked at Baekhyun and then at Chanyeol.

"I thought you were gay," Taehyung said to his appa with furrowed eyebrows, obvious confusion plastered to his face. Chanyeol smiled at his son.

"I weren't at that time," he said.

"So auntie turned you gay?" Luna said with a small teasingly smirk. Baekhyun smirked too as he looked at his husband.

"You could say that..." Chanyeol said. "When I realized my feelings for him, I became aware of things I've never known about myself before."

"But I thought you were all gay," Minki said. "Of course except my appa and eomma."

"Your appa had a little mix-up too, Minki," Baekhyun told him, and smirked at the glaring Joonmyun.

"Thank you," he said sarcastically.

"Really?" Amber asked him.

"It was very short," Joonmyun said. "And I found out that I didn't play on that team."

"Are we going to hear about that too?" Namjoo asked, a bit of excitement to spot in her voice.

Joonmyun sighed. "Of course." He smiled to her and she smiled back.

"Tell us about when you realized your feelings for auntie Baekhyun, please, uncle Chanyeol," Hayoung pleaded Chanyeol.

Chanyeol smiled and thought back.
