A New Friend

Taeyeon fished out her ringing cellphone on the side jacket pocket of her blazer and saw an un-familiar number on her screen.

“Yes, Hello?”

“Hi, Ms. Taeyeon, It’s Atty. Choi Sooyoung.”

“Ah, yes, Atty. Choi, why the sudden call?”

“I’m sorry about that. I’ve been busy transferring all your mother’s properties under your name and I just thought that I’d let you know that I’m already done with all the legal matter regarding it.”

“Oh that’s good to hear.”

“Yes. The papers are ready and you can check them any time soon and then sign them and I’ll work on the last process of transferring it under your name.”

“I’m now free… my lunch meeting ended rather early but I’m out of the. How about we meet outside for some afternoon coffee and snacks? That’s if you’re free, Atty. Choi?”

“I’m quite free too at the moment and I will never refuse a chance to have some afternoon snacks.”

Taeyeon slightly chuckled at the light way of talking of her new lawyer at the other line.

“Okay then let’s meet at the café near Gangnam-Sinnonhyeon Station.”

“Okay I’ll be there in a few!”

The ended abruptly as Taeyeon told the lawyer the place where they would meet and smile to herself because of the lawyer’s quite dandy personality that doesn’t quite to seem to go along her profession.

Taeyeon has just sat down her bum on the comfy chair when the figure of Choi Sooyoung appears on her line of sight. She raised her hand and waved at the young lawyer and the latter instantly lit up a smile at her and walked towards the table she’s occupying.

“Hi! Am I late?”

“No, I just also arrive.”

Taeyeon smiled back at the smiling girl and somehow seeing someone smiling ever so genuinely at her seems to be quite refreshing for her.

“Shall we order first before we talk about boring papers?”

“Sure! I was really hoping you’ll say that first.”

“Okay, then.”

Taeyeon signaled the waiter and began telling her order and she couldn’t help but smile along as she listens to the young lawyer as the she gave quite a few orders to the shock waiter.

Who wouldn’t when Sooyoung just ordered a pasta dish, a few varieties of breads and a couple of pastries for dessert that could be eaten by three to four people.

“That will be all, thank you!”

Sooyoung return the menu at the waiters hand and turn her attention back at her client Kim Taeyeon who was looking at her with an amuse face.

“I’m sorry, did I do something funny?”

Taeyeon shook her head and bowed at the lawyer as an apology with her action.

“I’m sorry Att. Choi it’s just that, you kinda ordered a lot, I don’t know if we could finish all of it.”

Sooyoung only stared at her with a confuse face before giving her a reply.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Kim but that’s for me. You have to order yours. I’m sorry but I don’t like sharing my food. I even don’t share some to my sister no matter how much she tries to act cutesy in front of me.”

“Oh! Wow!”

Taeyeon this time couldn’t help but to let out a soft chuckle. The young lawyer is indeed quite refreshing to her senses and somehow her light and dandy personality lifted up her mood even just for a while.
