If It’s Meant To Be

Taeyeon take a look of her reflection in the full length mirror and smiled a little when she saw that she’s somehow looking a little bit more presentable than what she previously look liked and thought that maybe Tiffany would somehow like her current state then she took a deep breath to calm her raging heart.

‘God! Taeyeon, why are you so freaking nervous?!’

“Seomin Halmoni…”

Taeyeon called out to the busy elder that’s currently cooking in the kitchen. The old woman turns her back to face her when the latter heard her call.

“Oh! Taeyeon-ah, the dinner is about to be done, would you like to have an early dinner?”

Taeyeon politely shook her head as a reply to the elderly woman, she has a more important matter to attend at the moment.

“Halmoni, where is Tiffany?”

Taeyeon felt her heart race as she spoke of the girl’s name.

Mrs. Park took a few second before answering her and looked rather contemplating on what to tell her which made Taeyeon rather confuse with the elder’s action towards her simple question.

“Halmoni?”

“Ah— T-Tiffany… s-she was taken by her Aunt, her mother’s older sister and she had asked Tiffany to live with her from now on. W-why are you looking for her?”

“She what?!”

Taeyeon’s voice rose a little bit with shock with what she has just heard.

“Since when?!”

“J-just this morning.”

Taeyeon eyed the elder woman and saw how weird she looks like when the latter shifted her attention back to the dish she’s cooking. It’s almost like the elderly was avoiding her.

“But Halmoni, I thought Tiffany no longer has a relative here in Korea? I didn’t know that her mother has an older sister. And why did Tiffany just went with her just like that?! I don’t understand?”

Taeyeon’s heart sunk and she felt her raging heart has slowly pacing down and feeling more heavier with every beat.

The elder woman turned off the stove and turned to face Taeyeon once again.

“Taeyeon-ah… that’s also what I thought but her Aunt came in and told us who she is and she seems to be telling the truth. And Tiffany went with her because she wanted to know her Aunt more since she’s her last remaining blood relative. You know how much that child values her family right?
