*Kris’s P.O.V*

After I left Eliza’s apartment I went straight to mine. I hadn’t really paid attention to the time when I was there. I felt bad that I had fallen asleep for a bit. I didn’t really mean too it just happened. When I heard a sudden noise I woke up panicking. I had no idea where I was until I realized I was with Eliza. I got to my feet and went to her kitchen I saw her with her hands burn from the tea pot. I wanted to yell at her for her clumsiness but I saw no point in it. I sighed and got the ice packs from the freezer and put them on her hands.

Seeing her hands red I knew she was thinking about something. I know dropping something that was really hot wouldn’t be an accident. Inside me I felt uneasy just looking at her hands. She was quiet most of the time when were sitting on the sofa. I finally asked her what was she thinking about and all I got was one word. Memory. ‘What exactly does that mean?’ I thought. I didn’t push the conversation anymore. That’s when I noticed the time and decided to leave. I wanted to stay longer but I could tell she wanted to be alone.

Once I entered my apartment I went to my room and just laid on the bed. I shut my eyes for a moment and I felt my phone vibrate. I wanted to ignore it but if it was my manager and I didn’t pick up I would be in trouble. I saw the caller I.D. and it was Eliza. I sat up in bed right away. I blinked a few times to make sure I wasn’t just dreaming. I felt my heart suddenly race for some reason. As soon as I was going to answer her my phone stopped vibrating. I stood on my feet as soon as my phone vibrated again. I saw Eliza’s name on the caller I.D.

I waited for a moment and took a breath before I answered it. “Hello?”

“Kris?” she said over the phone. She sounded different hearing her voice.

“What is it?” I asked curious to know why she called.

“I uh...” she paused for a moment. “I wanted to say sorry about my clumsiness; with the tea pot and all.”

For some reason I felt my cheeks burn and I couldn’t help but smile at her silly apology. If I was next to her I would flick her forehead and just laugh with her. I realized what I was thinking and shook off that thought. ‘No.’ I thought. I cleared my throat before I spoke. “It’s alright. At least you know you’re clumsy.”

I heard give a small laugh and she stayed quiet for a moment. “Yeah, I know I am.”

“Is there anything you want to talk about?” I asked. I could feel something is wrong just by the sound of her voice. I sat down on my bed waiting for an answer.

“No, I just wanted to apologize.” She said quietly. “I’m sure you are tired and want to get some sleep. Since you were asleep earlier.”

That’s right I was tired but I couldn’t just end the call the way we were. Something wasn’t right and I wanted end the call with having a smile on her face. “Do you want to face time for a bit?”

“What?” she said as if I caught her off guard which is what I wanted. I couldn’t help but to smirk.

“You heard me.” I said with a smile completely on my face now. I waited for moment until she answered me.

“Sure, just for a bit ok?” she said. I had this feeling that she was blushing and trying to stop it.

“Alright let me call you ok?” I said. I hung up and went to the mirror to see if I looked ok. I fixed my hair a bit and then I widened my eyes. ‘What am I a girl?’ I thought to myself and left the restroom. I went to change into my sleeping clothes and made myself comfortable on the bed. Before I made the call I put my hand on my chest and felt my heart beating rapidly. I had no idea why. I sat up for a moment. ‘It couldn’t be that I…?’ I thought for a moment. I shook my head and went back to lie down. I the lamp that was near my bed so it wouldn’t be too dark. I pulled the blanket on me to cover up and called Eliza.

When she answered she was leaning against her wall in her room. Her hair was to one side and she had a pair of glasses on. “I didn’t know you wear glasses?”

“They are for reading only. I don’t really need them at school.” She replied back.

“How are your hands?” I asked. I saw her bit her bottom lip and look at one of them.

“They are alright.” She said.

“Show me one.” I waited for a moment and she showed me her left hand. It was pink now. ‘The swelling went down.’ I thought. I was glad to know that. “It looks really good.”

“Yeah it does.” She gave a small smile and I gave her smile back. “Why did want to face time with me?”

I didn’t even think of response to tell her why I wanted to face time with her. I kept trying to think of something as my heart started to race. I sighed and thought of something. “I wanted to see how your hand was doing?”

“That’s it?” she looked disappointed as if she wanted a better one.

“I uh…” I couldn’t find other words to say. I had a blank moment.

“You what?” she said looking at me. Our eyes locked and I felt something inside me jump. I sat up in bed and position myself leaning against the wall as Eliza.

“I wanted to see your face to make sure you were alright. When I left you looked sad.” I finally managed to say. I felt my cheeks burn up a bit. I was hoping she wouldn’t notice it. I couldn’t understand why my cheeks would do that. At times Eliza manages to put me on the spot but I guess now I know how she feels when I do it to her.

Eliza didn’t say anything. She stayed still for a moment and I could tell I now put her on the spot. I gave out a small chuckle and her face became confused. She looked at me and I knew she had no idea why I was laughing. She looked so blank. I stopped laughing and a moment later I started up again.

“Why are you laughing at me?” she said.

“You just look adorable when you’re confused.” I said. I then realized what I had just said. “I mean…” I got stuck for a moment before I could defend myself I saw her looking at me with her eye wide.

“Don’t deny it. I know I am adorable!” she said sticking out her tongue and making a cute face.

I rolled my eyes and nodded my head with a smile. “Alright, you are adorable.”

We both laughed and just kept look
