Angel.
Suddenly, Hye Min stopped in her tracks as she clutched onto her head and gulped. The pain was ovebearing, she suddenly felt her body break away from her head as she froze in her spot.
After waiting for ten minutes, Suho couldn't felt but feel scared, but he quickly shook that thought away. *How can Hye Min be in danger? I just talked to her ten minutes ago.*
He continued waiting, his head facing the playground while his eyes travelled everywhere. He was hoping for Hye Min to give him a surprise or something, but what he didn't know that she was all along behind him, just twenty metres away.
The sight of Suho made Hye Min feel satisfied and she weakly smiled. But all of a sudden she felt a surging pain in her head and her hands felt cold and weak, her body losing its energy and warmth. She felt like her veins were bursting and she swallowed.
She slowly touched the corner of her lips that was stained with blood and her hands lost the strength as the phone slipped out of her hands before she collapsed onto the ground.
Suho sighed softly and chuckled. "That Hye Min is really taking her own sweet time," Suho mumbled and smiled, taking out his phone to text her.
She weakly opened her eyes and looked up at the sky, seeing the sun shining brightly on her, as it continued to snow and she softly smiled. Just then, her phone buzzed beside her and she weakly grabbed her phone.
Lee Hye Min. Are you playing a trick on me? I'm still waiting at the playground. :)
Hye Min smiled, as tears blurred her vision. Her fingers ran across his name and she swallowed. She pressed hardly onto the screen, typing as fast as she could, and she dropped her phone, looking up at the sky again.
*Thank you for giving this miracle to Suho, Kai and EXO-K. Thank you for passing this miracle to them. I'm contented with what I have, and I will never regret this descision I made, because this decision made me meet Suho.*
Suho's phone buzzed and he sighed, his smile on his face unable to fade when he saw her text message.
Suho, I'm thankful for you to be there when I need you, thankful for those memories I had with you as we cry and laugh together. I'll be up there as your moon, guiding you as you go along your road. I'll help you and guide you whenever you need me. I love you.
Suho chuckled and he immeidately texted back.
I love you too. Now come here!!
Hye Min couldn't help but having those tears to increase.
When I'm gone, just remember I'll be your light to guide you like an angel. Remember? The moon represents my heart. Merry Christmas, Suho.
Hye Min smiled at her last text. Her greatest wish has been fulfilled. She was able to spend Christmas with Suho by just sending him a text, it was that easy, but hard to let go.
Suho couldn't help but feel uncomfortable at her reply. It's not her message that's uncomfortable, but her meaning. He frrowned and he stood up, looking around, his eyes scanning the area when he saw a crowd gathering around, shaking their heads in grief.
His eyes widened and he immediately ran towards the crowd, pushing them away, and saw Hye Min's eyes closed. Her phone was beside her, her body laying there lifelessly. But what made Suho break down, was her smile.
His hands were wobbly, and his bottom lip trembled as he his lips nervously.
"Hye Min.. Hye Min.." Suho immediately ran to her side and he held her in his arms. "Hye Min.." Suho softly whispered as he looked at Hye Min, tears flowing out from his eyes.
Suho bitterly cried, as he brought her face closer to him and brought her hand to his cheek."We could hardly be with each other. I can't just possibly let you go. I've let you go once, I can never let you go again," Suho choked back his tears.
"I've even bought a watch. A couple watch. One for you and for me. Symbolizes out love for each other. Cherishing every moment we have we each other. You need to wear it," Suho quickly took out the watch as he helped Hye Min to wear the watch, and he himself wearing it.
"It's perfect isnt it? The perfect pair. Don't leave me all alone. Hye Min," Suho cried out, as he kissed her forehead, already feeling the warmth draining out in her.
Hye Min could say she can die without regrets. Confessing to the person she love, being loved back by him, and also dying in his arms. She could say she felt satisfied, because she know that not all people could do the same thing as she did.
But, she was one step late. Just one step, and she went. Her had slipped from Suho's hand, she went without regrets.
Their angel.
"Hye Min.. Stay with me, don't go don't leave me. We hardly did the things we wanted. It isn't fair for you to celebrate my birthday but not yours. Today I was suppose to celebrate it with you, a surprise one just like 8 months ago you did it again," Suho pleaded as he kissed her forehead and sobbed. He wanted her body and her face to be warm again, not cold. Reality hit him hard, as he knew that the person he loved the most, had died in his arms. He was hugging a dead person that was his love.
Dead person.
The person he love, forever.
Gone.
He won't be able to see the smile on her face again. He won't be able to poke his head and have Hye Min greeting him. He won't have Hye Min talking to him, joking with him. And last, he won't have Hye Min protecting him and being beside him. Those things that he did with Hye Min, he couldn't do it anymore.
And that was his biggest regret-He wasn't even able to see Hye Min at her last breath.
Once the person is gone, is gone. Just so fragile, even more fragile than a glass.
"Dear passengers, please fasten your seat belts, we'll be taking off soon."
Suho sat comfortably in his seat beside Kai, and he looked out of the window which was just the sky full of stars.
Just then, a young couple sat at the seat that was beside their row, as they laced their fingers together. "Yah, we have to cherish those around us, alright? After omma went, I can't lose you now," the girl said, and rested her head on the guy's shoulder and smiled. Suho looked at them with envy, as the guy spoke up. "Yes yes, so you must stay within my sight, alright?" the guy said, snuggling close to her and smiling non stop.
Suho softened, as he looked at them with envy, he and Hye Min could have been like that too. He thought of Hye Min, and he softened even more. He looked down, closing his eyes.
Kai knew there was something with Suho, as he tilted his head.
He looked at the direction where Suho was looking at, and he found the couple smiling at each other, non of them leaving each other.
He then turned back to look at Suho, slightly softening. "It has already been a year, still thinking of Hye Min?"
Suho slowly nodded his head, and raised his head high, tears were already seen in his eyes, and he took in a deep breath. "Even though I only know Hye Min for just a short period of time, she really left a deep impression on her, and I have also fell in love with her since then, this thing, cannot be taken away so easily."
"Now that we're going to Japan, I just hope to take this chance, and travel to some tourist attractions. Hye Min once said that she really wanted to go to Japan, and now, I guess I'm fulfilling her wish, taking her with me to see Japan," Suho said, slowly having a faint smile, thinking of Hye Min.
"Hye Min really went too quickly, you hardly have any time to be with her," Kai sadly said, biting his lip, even he and EXO missed Hye Min, but still, not as much as Suho. "Don't you blame Dongkook?"
Suho shook his head, looking down. "How can I blame someone who guided my through the days? But I can also never forgive, someone who killed Hye Min, and commited so many crimes, I just don't wish to have anything to do with him now, he has already gotten what he deserved, whether I forgive him, or not, doesn't really matter, to him and to me."
"I just regret, burning the watch I gave her, and now the two watches, would never be together.." Suho softened, and closed his eyes.
Suho opened the large window, having the cold wind to blow right into his hotel room. He looked at the moon, that was shining brightly in the middle of Tokyo, and he looked at it in the balcony. "Hye Min.. It's been a year since you were gone, and we've been living well, how about you? How are you living at the moon?"
Once Suho said Hye Min's name, he slowly lowered his head, and taking in deep breaths. He just miss Hye Min too much.
"Whenever I look at the moon, I would always think of you. I know you're up there protecting us, that's why so far we've been good. And sometimes, I can also feel your presence, like it's beside me," Suho touched his chest, as he continued to look at the moon. Looking at the moon, it's like looking at Hye Min.
"When you first came in, where I began falling for you, when you fought with the assassins at the hill and found your mother's remains, having to find who your mother's murderer, and also who is the one who always want us killed, and the time when you sang the song. Your smile that made my heart skip a beat, your laughter that brightens up my mood and your presence, just makes me think of you more. Although I won't be able to do that with you anymore, but I will forever remember the memories we had, together," Suho said as he smiled at the moon.
He looked at his hand, that particular finger, his left hand, wedding finger, that has that particular ring on it. He smiled and touched it. "Even though, the two watches would never be together, but at least, having your ashes to turn into dimaonds, and carrying it around, I already feel your presence. Even though you're gone, but you will still be with me forever."
"Having two things, that is representing your absence it's really great you know? But the best thing would be that you could be with me right now.."
"You're different from other people, just like the moon standing out of the sky, your smile is like the glow and light the moon gives out, and your presence is our guiding and protecting of us, of me," Suho thought aloud.
He smiled, and tears began forming in his eyes, and he quickly wiped it away, sniffing hard and taking deep breaths. "Hye Min, I miss you, but I know you're always there with me, I know.." Suho smiled as tears formed in his eyes, and began to flow down, as he looked down.
He smiled once more, then look up at the moon, and said, "I remembered what you said. It isn't the outcome but the process that matters. Just be with the ones you want, and get the memories of it. Then, it doesn't matter even if the lovers don't end up together."
"Hye Min, thanks for the happy moments. I'm in Tokyo now, the place you have always wanted to go to, now I'm helping you see Tokyo, Japan, to carry out your wish."
He turned his head as he looked to his left, and smiled widely. The first ever smile that he formed after Hye Min's death. The smile that only Hye Min could make him have that smile. He visualized Hye Min beside him, looking at the moon as she smiled widely, making his heart skip a beat. That was the place where she sang the song and the place where he confessed to her, and she faced Suho, smiling to him as her figure slowly faded away. And before that, Suho could hear her voice, her angelic voice that spoke once again.
"I'm with you Suho, I'm always with you.."
"You're my guardian angel, Lee Hye Min." Suho said, as her figure faded away, and he looked at the moon again. "My silent angel."

Okay, so firstly, Protecting Angel finally came to an end! So is it a good thing? Or a bad thing?
Secondly, to those who didn't want me to kill Hye Min off, I'm really sorry!
Thirdly, I created a sequel to Protecting Angel.
Now, if you try to imagine, second and third point links to each other.
When I finished writing Protecting Angel, I just found out I forgot to add in lots of details, for example the incomplete letter that Hye Min's mother wrote to her, and Kai saying that Hye Min looks similar to a very good friend of his which I believe can be found in Chapter 37 (Or around there).
And I also had to blame myself for creating this stupid line for Dongkook mouthing to Kai that he'll be back for him.
These minor details made me realize how incomplete this story is, and I suddenly had this crazy idea to kill Hye Min off and which indirectly made Suho have a biggest regret in his life.
In the sequel, I will show how much Suho actually loves Hye Min that he was unable to move on without her, and this is the moment when the female character appears and just tries her best to help Suho, with Kai who is also the mal character.
As for who is the third party in their relationship, it is up to you to decide!
