CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

Sun Hee was quietly figuring out the passcode of the Prophecy book when she heard footsteps inside the library, "If you're going to stop me from unlocking this damn book, then get out." Sun Hee said without looking up, but the footsteps didn't stop. She stopped what she was doing and said, "I said, I don't want to st-" She cut herself off when she saw Jiyong stop right in front of her. 

They weren't really in the best condition right now. 

It's more like, they are still in the state of love quarelling. 

Sun Hee sighed and looked down and started to unlock the prophecy again and basically ignored Jiyong. Jiyong just stared at her, hands inside his pocket as he fiddled with his letter 'S' necklace inside his pocket. He saw a chair in front of the desk and decided to sit on it. Now, he was sitting right in front of Sun Hee, who busied herself with figuring out what the passcode is. 

"I don't know what you came here for... but if you're also going to plan to convince me in stopping, don't even start." Sun Hee said sternly as she wrote down the wrong combination she tried. She's been trying to unlock the book for the past three days now, which means she only spent her time inside the library and nowhere else. Jiyong looked at her, not even moving an inch. Sun Hee glanced up at him and saw him staring at her. 

She softened when she could hear Jiyong's nervous heartbeats. She sighed and placed the book down and crossed her arms. "Do you want to talk or something?" She insisted, not looking at him. However, Jiyong continued to look at her, surprising her with his silent treatment. She looked at him and said, "Why are you not speaking? Are you deaf or something?" 

Still no response. 

Sun Hee sighed and sat up straightly as she looked at Jiyong intently, "Kwon Jiyong. Speak or leave." Still no response. Sun Hee sighed heavily and was about to go back to what she was doing when Jiyong spoke, "You talked to me..." He said, amused, as if not believing what he was currently hearing. Sun Hee looked up and blinked in confusion. 

"What? I did, So what?" Sun Hee asked, like it's not a big deal, but to Jiyong, it clearly was a big deal. 

"You talked to me. Right now." Jiyong said without any sense. 

Sun Hee raised her eyebrows, "Yeah? So?" 

"It's the first time ever since you confronted me..." He said softly, but Sun Hee was able to hear it. Sun Hee blinked, realizing that what Jiyong had said was true. She cleared and said, "Your point?" Jiyong smiled bitterly and said, "I just wanted to... tell you that I have no excuses. What I did with Youngbae... it's true." Sun Hee looked at him and decided to listen. 

"I'm not going to hide anything because there's really nothing to hide. I was an , a player, a womanizer. I was that typical young boy who looked for a buddy, but when my father told me that I'd be meeting someone with the same kind as I am, I was intrigued. I wanted to know if you were any different with Kiko, who loved me at first sight, by not even knowing how my personality was... I wanted to know if you were that easy. If you were like any other women out there, but clearly you weren't. I didn't really expect it, so I made a bet with Youngbae. I didn't mind, that was because I was too confident to myself. I was too conceited, that is." Though everything sounded like it was an excuse, Sun Hee understood. 

He was right, he was a conceited bastard. He knew nothing but to praise himself. 

Sun Hee continued to stare at him until he spoke again, "I'm not asking you to forgive me that easily, what I'm asking you is to forget the image I had back then when we first met and realize that I'm not the same anymore. I'm asking you to trust me that I've changed. That I'm not the same old conceited bastard anymore." Sun Hee softened. She sighed and held her head down. 

She bit her lip as she fiddled with her fingers while crossing her arms. She heaved a deep sigh before looking up. She stared at Jiyong and said, "I never said I didn't trust you. I always have. I was just too overwhelmed. Thinking that you lied to me. Thinking that you only played me. Thinking that everything was just for fame or for power. You can't blame me, Jiyong. I've been betrayed once and I don't want that to happen again. Especially when it's you, my soulmate, my forever partner..." 

Jiyong looked at Sun Hee and saw her tears forming. He stood from his seat and walked towards her. He crouched down to level himself with her and cupped her face. "Listen to me...
