Hannah is pouting when walking inside the studio next morning, day two recording with Melissa Allen and her crew in New York. The American producer greets 5 Pieces with hugs, leaning back when hearing Hannah’s voice.

“I’ve got a hoarse voice,” Hannah grimaces, hurting when she talks.

“But it sounds y,” Melissa looks impressed at the other members, making them laugh. “Is it just now in the morning or have you caught a cold?”

“It’s not a cold,” Hannah shakes her head but Emelia says that Hannah’s voice has been the same all morning. “I’ll rest my voice and do my best today.”

Melissa nods, telling her to not talk and save her voice.

It is horrible how Hannah’s voice sounds almost like someone else’s when she talks, and when she is singing with her members to prepare for the recording her voice does sound ier, hoarser, still sounding like her voice.

After recording two new songs yesterday, 5 Pieces are back to record a third song named [For the one you love]. Though Hannah feels bad for her hoarse throat, once they begin recording Melissa is praising how y her voice sounds. It is good her voice isn’t completely gone, and it doesn’t really ruin the recording for Hannah either even if she has to do one part several of times.

“It sounds good though,” Jared Bone tells Hannah when the girl comes out from recording.

“You think?” she wonders, “I’m not doing it again?”

Jared looks over at someone else and Hannah looks too, her eyes big as she is insecure of what to do. Emelia is sitting in the room, but Maria and the other two have stepped outside to eat.

“Okay,” Jared turns back to Hannah, pointing at her when continuing to say; “you know the part Maria sang before? If you could harmonize with what she did… Think you could do that?”

“Yes, sure,” Hannah nods, hesitating just a bit before heading back inside the recording, clearing . She practices the part and when Jared gives the thumbs up they record it, and Hannah stays still when those outside listens to the result.

“Could you do it one more time? A little bit softer?” they suggest and Hannah nods, re-doing it.

She coughs between the takes, clearing over and over again and she drinks loads of water, smiling when the staff jokes with Emelia about Hannah coughing every time she stops singing. Jared gives the thumbs up when Hannah is done, telling her to come back out. He is leaning back comfortably in his chair when Hannah comes out from the recording.

“Your voice sounds really good hoarse like this,” Jared praises her and Hannah smiles, glancing at everyone else as she thinks he is joking with her again, she puts her hands in the pocket for the sweater she is wearing; though the weather is quite good in New York at this time, Hannah is cold and freezing, even wearing a scarf. “No, I mean it,” Jared nods at her, “it sounds ier in this hoarse way, especially in the low notes.”

Hannah nods while he keep talking, praising her the way he has praised all the members. The ladies appreciate the way the crew working for Melissa Allen takes notice of 5 Pieces’ differences; what they don’t know is that Melissa takes a few minutes to do an interview for the reality show, being asked about working with 5 Pieces.

“Oh, 5 Pieces is really different to work with. They have different charms as a team and with such different voices they really manage to mix it together. I like that we don’t need to use a lot of technology for their music as 5 Pieces’ voices are better without all that and I think the world is taking notice of their talents as a team and artists and I look forward to work even more with 5 Pieces in the future,” Melissa proudly tells the camera, “There are a lot of artists in Korea, a lot of young teenagers that follow the idol pop genre, but I think 5 Pieces have already had a fresh and powerful style and image that can become as big as Destiny’s Child ten years back. They can be so big in the world but I think the members are so humble and down to earth that they are of superstar-quality but their attitude is of a new star who only knows how to keep working their hardest as they still have much to prove.”

Melissa nods when getting another question.

“What I think America should be impressed with 5 Pieces is that the group has been hard working artists in Korea for a few years, so when 5 Pieces first came here they weren’t any new artists; a lot of fans gather wherever they go and I find it very surprising to see how many people gathering to see them now compared to just a year ago. They will do very well,” Melissa tells and finishes off with a smile.

 

Emelia helps Julia to get an account on Instagram – Emelia doesn’t have her own account but for some reason she knows how to create one – and the first picture Julia uploads and boasts for everyone around her (she shows it to Hannah three times within minutes…) is a picture she had taken just a few days ago with their puppy Michin. It is an adorable picture of them both, Julia smiling with her puffy cheeks and Michin looking to be copying her – how pets ends up looking like their owners is unbelievable true…

“Whoa! I’ve got comments already!” Julia laughs, for a fourth time showing her cell phone to Hannah who is sitting next to her around the table. Hannah smiles and nods, barely getting the chance to read anything before Julia stops showing her.

One from Melissa’s crew comes inside the room, asking the ladies who are in there and their manager if they have any free time tomorrow and when they are going back to Korea and such things.

“Well, she wanted to know if you want to come along on a party tomorrow,” he tells them and nods when the manager says he will check the schedule.

“We have promotions all day tomorrow,” Emelia tells him, her English is very natural, “yeah, we have like … we will perform on TV and do interviews and such; mostly promote [Daze].”

“That’s good,” the man nods, impressed with that they will promote the song now. It is just random conversations.

A little later they are finishing up the day in the recording studio. They won’t record all day with Melissa today because they are going for some TV recording and a photo shoot after this; their promotion schedule in New York begins today and will go on tomorrow. That is the actual reason 5 Pieces is in New York; they added in the recording with Melissa after finding out Hannah was going to film her drama in New York so they have like all week to be here.

With Carolina singing in the recording room, the others are waiting to when they will finish, and with the cameras around it is pretty quiet – they are tired from being in the recording studio all morning. Melissa walked outside for a few minutes, and when she comes back there is a woman with her with a super-short blonde hair, simple make-up and interesting clothes – she stands out. And the ladies look shocked. Melissa introduces them to the woman, excusing them as this woman came earlier than expected but that she really wanted to meet 5 Pieces.

Hannah looks at Julia with big eyes, hiding behind her friend when they have shook hand with this woman – it is Jessie J!

She has such a British accent that it is difficult to understand her all the time, but she is super friendly and even when the recording comes to an end, 5 Pieces stays to talk a little more with her and Melissa. Jessie J got to hear a bit of the song 5 Pieces was recording, and she says she likes it and that it sounds good…

The camera-crew is stunned as no one knew she was coming other than Melissa and her crew, but the cameras do capture 5 Pieces’ amazement and shy reactions when being with Jessie J. It is so cool! But 5 Pieces seem pretty cool too; at least Jessie J says they are cool, pointing at Maria and imitates her way to sit and she complimented Emelia’s clothes. Hannah is just panicking its Jessie J!

But then the ladies leave… And in the van, 5 Pieces go crazy.

“We met Jessie J!”

“Did you hear what she told me?”

Hannah is laughing in the back, her hoarse laugh makes the others laugh even more and it is a joyful ride to their schedule.

5 Pieces looked charismatic in their [Daze] outfits when promoting that evening. They did interviews, talked about their music and style and future plans and teamwork… It was mostly them repeating things from one interview to another, but the ladies did performed at one talk show (they just came, performed and left it felt like) and once the schedule has ended, they head back to the hotel.

As Hannah has been here for a few days, she got a hotel room for herself – because she came before the other members for the drama filming – and Hannah takes her time to put on music, check the latest online and showers before getting dressed in a gray logo print t-shirt, a little big but so comfortable and a pair of sweatpants. For once, she is actually freezing in a hotel room, which she thinks is because of her hoarse throat and blocked nose; performing this evening did not go as good as it could for Hannah, and she hopes she will be better tomorrow when most of the day will be just performing here and there in New York.

The laptop on the bed is showing the absolutely most recent article about 5 Pieces, which is an hour old perhaps, about a picture mostly that the ladies took this evening with the amazing actor Mark Wahlberg (to meet Jessie J at the studio and then at the talk show meeting Mark Wahlberg, Hannah was all shaky when she got in the shower now at the hotel). 5 Pieces had performed at the talk show and afterwards when Mark Wahlberg had done his interview, and he had complimented the ladies and even done a bad dance version of [Daze] that though was really funny. For some reason, when actors dance to their song, it is very entertaining.

For Life of Pieces the ladies were asked to film more personal with the cameras they have been given, and Maria had reminded Hannah of it before they parted outside the rooms, so Hannah has put out the camera on the bed to remind herself of it, and when she is done with all the other things – meaning she is ready to go to bed – the youngest sits down on the floor so the camera can be on the bed and have a perfect focus on her.

“I have my own room this time…” Hannah starts saying quietly and quickly leans her forehead against the side of the bed to cough, apologizing to the camera when she looks up again, clearing . “Ah, my voice is almost gone…”

She really doesn’t know what to say; getting quiet she rests her arm on the bed and puts her cheek on it, tilting her head on the side when looking at the camera, looking at herself.

“5 Pieces is in New York… I don’t know why, but wherever we go there are fans at the hotels we stay at, even here, and they seem to be there before we even arrive… How do you know…? … We are always impressed by that,” Hannah talks, her voice low to not strain her hoarse voice. She sighs for herself. “It’s quiet, isn’t it? After a loud day, it is strange to come to a quiet room like this… Huh… … Tomorrow, we are going to perform two songs at a show here in New York, which I think will be the most nerve-wracking part of the day because we will do [Daze] – it is in English – but the other song is [Run Out] – that one is in Japanese – how are we supposed to perform a Japanese song on American television? It is a great song, I think personally, we actually performed it in Sweden last month… But I’m still worried. It’s not just because it is in another language, it is also because I have more parts in that song – it is very light – and my voice sounds like this? Huh…”

She sighs again and pouts, blinking at the camera before she remembers something and smiles.

“Melissa Allen asked us today if we want to come along to a party tomorrow. Only the big stars will be there, she said,” Hannah giggles, “Hihihi… I wonder who’ll be there…”

A sound comes from her laptop and Hannah grabs the camera to twirl it around when she hurries to sit on the bed, laughing when lifting up the camera.

“The weirdo is calling me,” she announces and gives a wave to the camera before turning it off, answering the video call on Skype from Carolina instead and Hannah’s hoarse laugh is heard in the room when Carolina is loudly greeting her.

Carolina doesn’t really want anything; she just finds Maria a boring roommate and wanted to know what Hannah was up to as she is the one having a room on her own. After five minutes listening to Carolina talking through the video call, Maria’s head appears really close to the video, with a fresh face asking Hannah if she wants to go downstairs and see if the bar and restaurant are open.

“Call (ok),” Hannah answers, making an O with her hand.

So she takes her cell phone in her sweatpants pocket (and the key to her room), holds the camera in one hand when putting on the sneakers and she then walks out, beginning to film herself when heading down the corridor.

“Going to … Maria’s room, somewhere,” Hannah says, holding the camera up and adjusting it to focus on her. “The captain needs me; I’m running there.”

Though she is tired in her voice and mind, Hannah is suddenly shining. She is happy that Maria wants her – out of all people – to go with her. she meets up with her friend around the corner outside the elevators, and like always, Maria looks fabulous even if she has just come out of the shower (both of them have wet hair from the shower, fresh faces as well) now wearing a pair of colourful leggings and a huge t-shirt (really huge on her skinny body). Hannah hasn’t thought of what she is wearing herself, but Hannah could be perfectly dressed for a night out and step up next to Maria and still not look as good. How can she do that?

In the elevator, Hannah is filming them both in the mirror-wall, and an unknown energy is in her body as she follows Maria to some random dancing to the low music playing in the elevator. It is a really nice hotel they are staying at; everything looks luxury and expensive and there are paintings everywhere beside from the corridors outside the hotel rooms.

“So I was like listening to music, and then Carolina was singing loudly to other songs,” Maria says when they get out of the elevators, complaining to why she wanted to get out of there. “I mean; she ruined my music. Who does that? Oh, I’m hungry…”

She looses the focus on Carolina in a blink and Hannah hurries after the long-legged leader to get past the lobby to reach the restaurant and bar. But the two girls get all awkward in the lobby, as some fans sitting in sofas and over by the door turns to look at them, a few saying their names or saying ‘its 5 Pieces’. Maria gives a brief wave with her hand, hurrying her steps some more and Hannah gives a little wave too before she has to jog up next to Maria, hearing the fans chuckle and comment it behind them.

“Don’t they ever sleep?” Maria asks Hannah when they get inside the small, very cosy restaurant/bar. She covers the camera lens briefly for fun; as Hannah keeps filming her. “Our fans surely are impressive. They should get some sleep.”

Both girls smiles up when reaching the bar where a man greets them, speaking English.

“Can I order food from here?” Maria asks the man and glances around to see if there is another place.

“Yeah, you can order anything you want from the menu. Do you want to eat here or should we bring it up to your room?” he asks her kindly and Maria looks taken back, looking at Hannah.

“You want anything?” she wonders, continuing to speak English with Hannah. The youngest shakes her head and Maria frowns at the man. “I would want to eat in my room, then. But I order here, right?”

Hannah can’t stop smiling at Maria being her usual self, leaning over the bar when looking through the menu and she goes from a real meal to just dessert to the cheapest to something else. She wants meat, and then she doesn’t…

In the end she does order something to eat, and the ladies get ready to head back to their rooms now for Maria to wait for her food. Again in the lobby the fans are looking at them, this time also raising their hands in the air to wave and one of the guys asks if they are going to sleep soon.

“You should be the ones sleeping,” Maria answers and the fans over by the doors hurry over to the armchairs when Maria turns to head over there. “Weren’t you here yesterday as well?”

Most of them say they were here yesterday and the same time as the guy answer that, one of the girls leans over the backrest for a sofa to get visible, pointing at Hannah and asks what she is filming for.

“Our show Life of Pieces,” Hannah answers and she smiles when several of the fans there say they know it, that they are watching the newest season and that it airs in America and so on. “Oh, give a wave then; you might be on TV.”

The fans all try to pop their heads out next to each other to give a wave and shout-out that they love watching the show, and Maria pops her head out for the camera too, brightly saying this is in the middle of the night at a New York hotel. Hannah thinks they forgot both the time and what they were supposed to do as Hannah stops filming to join in the chatting with Maria and the fans there. There are American born Asians there and also Americans; all of them are in their teens or twenties, but the point is that they are fans of 5 Pieces and they keep saying how surprised they are that these two ladies are talking to them. They lower their voices a bit when seeing how the receptionist is looking at them, and Hannah laughs shyly, hiding her cheeks behind her hands when a fan says she looks pretty without make-up.

“Hannah, when is your book being published in America? I really want to read it,” a girl says, almost sounding like she is whining and when Hannah looks at her she sees the girl is Asian on her looks, but she speaks fluently like an American.

“Not until December,” Hannah answers and then wonders a bit, “but… it will come out in English in Korea … in October, I think.”

“Oh, then I will order it,” the girl brightly says. “I really look forward to read it. It’s driving me insane that it has come out in Korean but I can’t read it…”

“You’re talking about JOE? You have something to look forward to if you haven’t read it,” Maria butts in, and she laughs when some of the fans squeal at Maria reading Hannah’s book.

“Ah, I almost forgot,” the girl fan says and holds out a shopping bag for Hannah. “It was your birthday recently, right? I wasn’t sure I was going to get to give it to you…”

“A birthday gift?” Maria asks and peeks inside the bag when Hannah gets it.

“Yeah, it’s something simple but I hope you will like it.”

Hannah looks happy when she picks up the black embroidered baseball cap from the bag, turning it around to read the white letters ‘xxx 45’ and ‘new york’ and ‘brand xxx’ it stands on it. “Whoa, thank you,” she happily thanks the girl with a smile and those around makes a sound when Hannah hugs her. The girl looks super happy when Hannah tries the cap on, and some guy says it looks y on her. The American guys are really straightforward; Hannah thinks its weird hearing them talk and then realise they are actually fans of 5 Pieces – very manly and typical boyish fans.

“Today’s guests are an extra ordinary team of five Swedish girls who this year have blown minds in the whole world with their hit song – or, as people have trended to say; they have put everyone in a daze. Yes, you know what I’m talking about; the world sensation song [Daze], please welcome 5 Pieces!” the male host gets up on his feet and follows the audience by applauding with all the attention turned to his right side where the five members of 5 Pieces are walking out together, dressed prettily in high heels and outfits similar to one another but unique for each member. The host steps forward to shake hand with each member before politely showing his hand for them to sit down in the sofa next to his desk, also asking if they all fit in the sofa – they fit perfectly from one end to the other, all five ladies. Hannah smiles when hearing a male voice in the audience scream out loudly while the ladies take their seats.

She is sitting the closest to the host, as the team sits in their usual positions, and puts her hands in her lap, wearing a pair of black distressed leggings; she is also wearing a long gray t-shirt with a print and loads of bracelets in black and silver. Hannah loves the look and especially with the lace-up ankle boots, she looks really cool, even her hair and make-up – a smoky make-up and her hair all curly with some extensions for thicker and longer hair.

“I like these,” the host opens up and points down at Hannah’s distressed leggings. “It’s not pants, is it?”

“Its leggings,” Hannah shyly answers, knowing he is just commenting 5 Pieces’ trend and style like he probably does to a lot of celebrities coming, to take notice of the latest things. She keeps smiling when he nods and comments that it looks nice, and he then handsomely sits up straight to look at all the ladies.

“You get such a loud welcome, don’t you?” he jokes about the loud cheer the audience gave them and the girls smile when the audience gives another loud cheer.

“Thank you.” Julia also gives a small wave to some in the audience.

“Could you help me out a bit? I still have a little trouble with the names, but you are …”

“Hannah,” the blonde youngest kindly fills out for him and she leans back some more for him to see the other members, and one by one they are being introduced.

“I must say I am quite fascinated by you,” the host continues, leaning on one arm over his desk to look directly at the ladies, “your song is one of the hit songs of the year (world wide), I have seen your live performances and you get praise for that as well, but now when I personally meet you for the first time … you are a group of gorgeous young women, and I was actually – my apologizes for saying this – very surprised to hear of your age. How old are you?”

“We are 21 years old – all five of us,” Carolina answers.

“You are so young!” he sounds astonished and Hannah finds herself giggling behind her hand at him, “but how come such gorgeous young girls like you end up becoming a group like you are today? And you started off in Korea! How is that?”

“Well,” Maria begins, “the five of us went to school together. Like the geeks we were at that time, we just saw something in each other and became good friends and we really enjoyed listening to Korean music… So that is where we went.”

“You all just decided to pack your bags and go to Korea to become the biggest girl-group of all time?”

“Exactly,” Carolina jokes and laughs with the host, some in the audience laughs along too.

“Not really. We went to Korea for an audition to show our support to Korean music,” Maria begins to answer well again, “and then we got stuck with it. We won a contract with, um… a Korean agency, and we just began working right away to learn more about the language, culture and music.”

“That is very impressive…”

“Well thank you,” Maria smiles charmingly and Hannah just smiles, glancing from left to right. The host chuckles slowly, and the ladies knows he is taken back by the charm Maria has. She can charm everyone.

“And for how long have you been a group?”

“For about five years now,” Maria answers with a nod and again he looks impressed. “But that is like … in Korea, we have been a group.”

“So when you came out with the song [Daze] – an international song, not just in Korea – did you expect it to get this big?”

“No,” the girls all answers, shaking their heads, “Absolutely not. We were more of that wanting to give something to our international fans and all of a sudden around New Year we got called from our families in Sweden that our song was played on radios and at clubs…”

“But you must have taken notice of the popularity, right?”

“Yeah, of course; we are sitting here, aren’t we?” Maria is joking, smiling when he laughs at her answer.

“That proves our popularity, doesn’t it?” Emelia smirks. The host laughs and says they are really funny, but then mentions that the streets outside the building are crowded with fans and asks if it is the same wherever they go.

“Um, yeah, probably,” Emelia answers, nodding along with Maria.

“We are quite used to it when we travel around in Asia; we always have to remind our fans to not run after our car or push each other at the airport and such, but I think we were quite surprised when we came here and there were so many fans wherever we went…” Maria answers and she has a smile growing in her face by the host’s face-expression.

“They run after your car?”

Hannah and Julia laughs together at how astonished he sounds, like he can’t believe it, and it is just really fun and with Hannah’s laugh she leans behind Julia to cough, covering her microphone a little. Her voice is so hoarse now, which is a good reason to why she stays quiet.

“Yeah, it is very common, mostly in Asia though, I think.”

“So you are like taking down the window to call out to your fans in all kind of languages for them to not run after your car?”

“No-”

“If we did that, we would be pulled out the car,” Julia jokes and the girls laugh again at the host’s face-expression.

“It sounds quite terrifying, but it actually isn’t – for us, but our fans can get hurt by it,” Maria answers.

“And you live like that every single day? You travel a lot around the world, is there anywhere you can just be left alone?” he is curious to know, leaning forward with a frown at the ladies.

“The first two-three years, it was quite easy to walk around on the streets without being recognized in Sweden, but lately it has seemed more difficult,” Emelia answers.

“We actually had a vacation earlier this year, when we all went to different locations in the world,” Maria begins to say, “and I went to Australia – it was my first time there – and already on my first day there were people recognizing me. It was quite amazing to have people recognize us even if we weren’t the whole team together.”

“Wow… Was this before or after the sensation of [Daze]?”

“In Asia it was before, outside Asia it has been after.”

“How are you enjoying New York? It is not your first time, right?”

“We are enjoying it deeply, it is such a big city and we have been here a few times before… maybe this is our third or fourth time,” Emelia answers.

“Have you done some shopping? Or what do you look forward to the most when coming to New York?”

“We haven’t really gotten the time to go shopping anything this time,” Maria answers, “but we really like coming here because of the fans – they are really nice.”

“I heard you are going on a world tour; are you coming to the United States?”

“Ah, yes, we are currently on a tour,” the girls nod brightly, “all the locations haven’t been decided yet but we would gladly come to the United States. We are actually taking in requests from fans to figure our where we should go, so to all of you who want 5 Pieces to reach United States, please send a shout to us on Facebook.”

Hannah is lightly nodding when hearing Maria fluently doing commercial for their tour for the cameras.

“There are two songs you are performing for us today – the song everyone knows and loves to sing and move to, [Daze] – but then it is another song too, could you introduce it for us curious viewers?” the host wonders and this time Maria gives a nod to Hannah.

“Um…” Hannah says to see if her voice is alright, “The other song we will perform is actually a Japanese song, which we came out with earlier this year and that we have noticed is loved by our fans around the world.”

“Is it also this fun dance song like [Daze]?” the host wonders.

“It is a really cool dance song, not as powerful like [Daze] but we hope everyone will enjoy it.”

“Okay. It has been a great pleasure to have you here,” he tells the ladies before he turns to the audience, “we’ll be right back with an astonishing performance by 5 Pieces.”

Being done, the ladies shake his hand once again before heading over to the side to a stage prepared for them and the ladies get ready for their performance. Hannah drinks water and quietly warms up her voice, worried from head to toe about failing this performance completely because of her hoarse voice.

“Baby,” Maria steps up in front of Hannah, “we’ll do what we practiced with Carolina lifting up your voice in the background. So don’t overdo it, alright?”

Hannah nods, “thanks.”

Taking their positions, Hannah is in the centre for [Run Out]. She is taking deep breaths, holding the microphone tightly in her hand as she gets into her performing character, her eyes focusing out in nowhere for a second before she glances over her shoulder at her members and then turns her focus to the front again, looking down to clear . Hannah can feel her heart shaking when they are about to begin, hearing the host doing an introduction of the song before the music begin to play and Hannah lifts her chin when beginning to dance. Dancing is the simple part; it is when beginning to sing that Hannah can hear how hoarse her voice actually is.

The first part goes well, and the few seconds Maria sings, Hannah is swallowing and trying to regain her voice before she begins to sing again. And then the chorus begins, which goes well at first with the other ladies but then it is this part where Hannah sings lighter and she has to stop singing halfway through the part to not begin coughing. She dances as if she isn’t distracted by herself, trying to stay focused with her face-expression even if the cameras do capture the annoyance she can’t hide.

One good thing she is happy about with the performance is the audience; 5 Pieces’ fans know no boundaries as they sing along to [Run Out] in Japanese and then in English to [Daze]. They are awesome.

Finishing off the performances, 5 Pieces doesn’t even change clothes before they head out to just change location, and their fans impresses them even more by filling out the street outside and loudly cheering by the sight of them. Though they need to go to the next schedule, the girls had actually asked their managers if they could sign some autographs before leaving – and it is good they did that because it is so crowded outside that it would be a shame to leave without giving anything back.

“Hi,” Hannah greets fans with a big smile when stepping up to the right, giving a hoarse laugh when hearing the cheer by the ladies approaching their fans. She has her own pen and begins signing things right away.

“What happened with your voice?!” a girl sounds terrified when Hannah says something.

“Why? You don’t like it?” Hannah teases and she smiles up at the fan with a giggle, but she still explains herself; “I’m a little hoarse, that’s all. Hi.” She smiles happily to a younger fan standing at the front, holding a writing pad out to get an autograph.

“Please take care of your voice, Hannah~” the worried girl from the back begs and Hannah smiles to answer.

She tries to focus on the younger girl, giving her an autograph before continuing. She stops to take a picture with a fan too, hearing people call her pretty and say she is really nice. But there is one male voice she hears above the others say ‘how are you enjoying New York?’ and ‘ladies, you look beautiful’ and Hannah looks up in a reflex to recognize the same man who always seems to be there during their visits in New York. He films and appears everywhere; last time 5 Pieces was in New York (in January) this guy was everywhere and he talked and complimented the ladies and he was very respectful.

“Oh, you are here,” is all she finds herself saying to him and he laughs as a chuckle.

“Anywhere for you, ladies, you look so beautiful,” he comments. “Are you enjoying New York?”

“Yes, of course,” Hannah answers, writing her autograph for another fan.

“Did you perform today? How is your voice recovering with you working all the time?” his bass voice doesn’t need to strain to be heard, and Hannah can’t stop smiling when hearing him talk.

“My voice can recover on the plane, you know,” Hannah comments and sends a smile up at him briefly, “is it that bad, you think?”

“You always sound good,” another fan answers and Hannah giggles, thanking while continuing to sign and she waves a little when continuing further away.

“You need to take care of yourself for your fans,” the male voice is clearly heard and Hannah just smiles and nods as she tries to write as many autographs as possible.

It goes fast, because it felt like she just started when a manager steps up to tell her to get in the car. Hannah keeps waving though, getting inside the van waiting for them after Julia and it feels like forever before all the ladies have taken their seats and they can start moving. The place surely is crowded but it goes pretty easy to get through it all; well, the ladies have Thailand and Philippines to compare to, so of course it is easier in New York.

 

The last thing 5 Pieces have on their day is the party Melissa has invited them to. It isn’t anything like they expected. First when 5 Pieces arrive, they are just walking around with big eyes when spotting the celebrities among stylists and staff and it is probably a lot of celebrities that the ladies just don’t know. They thought they were late, but after meeting Melissa they find out that all the important people are late because they always have so much to do.

“I got someone to introduce you to,” Melissa says and she puts an arm around Emelia when guiding the ladies through some people, and on the way she greet some more people just briefly before her hand goes up in the air. “Katy, over here.”

And none other than Katy Perry comes laughing over to them, imitating Melissa’s way to get her attention and Katy then opens , looking like 5 Pieces feels like.

“Oh my god! I am such a big fan of yours!” Katy laughs and then shakes hand with each member, looking Hannah deeply in the eyes when taking her hand. “I always dance to your song whenever I am asked to dance something. It is awesome. And Melissa has been talking so much about you. Oh lord, you all are so beautiful!”

Hannah is speechless to hear Katy Perry say so much about them, and she even says she has tweeted about 5 Pieces for a year and she is really talkative and she leans back to comment on their clothes and then she laughs and just everything she does seem like a fairy. She is really pretty and cute. It is great that Maria and Emelia are good talkers, keeping up with the celebrity complimenting them

“How long are you staying in New York for?” Katy Perry then asks, her hand on Maria’s arm – which Maria will not forget in quite some time.

“We are actually going back to Korea tomorrow morning,” Emelia answers.

“No way,” Katy pouts and then waves her hands. “We must take a picture together. I can not wait to tell all my friends and fans that I have finally met you. 5 Pieces!”

The ladies get closely together with Katy Perry standing in the middle, holding her arms friendly around Carolina and Maria’s shoulders and Hannah is standing with Carolina’s arm around her while Emelia and Julia are on Maria’s side. They all smile and look surprisingly close to each other in the picture they take; of course there are people around who more than gladly take a picture for SM Entertainment and also with Katy’s own cell phone.

This party is super awesome – Maria’s words – and according to all of the ladies it is the coolest thing ever. They get to see several celebrities (singers and actors), even get to be introduced to some of them and every single person they meet at the party says they have heard of 5 Pieces, likes their song and what not. 5 Pieces can not relax for a second at the party, their eyes can not be still either and they meet Katy Perry over and over and over again, like when she first leaves she is back ten minutes later or when Maria goes to the bathroom, Katy Perry is there too, and she greets the girls the same bright way each time “Destiny want us together” she said.

In the van on the way home, it is so typical 5 Pieces to go insane. They always do that; as if the van is their breaking-free place where they can fan-girl like crazy. Their final night in New York, even their managers admit it can’t have ended better. Beside from that Hannah’s voice is almost gone, the actual experience in New York with all work and people they have met, has been the best. Hannah is alright with her voice; it’s worth it.

As the van drives closer to the hotel, the subject changes with Maria’s one comment to Carolina; “When we get to the hotel, you better not mess up my resting time.”

“I never do that,” Carolina pouts for answer, though everyone know how Carolina actually is; Carolina will probably not even know when she is doing something that disturbs another person.

Manager Park is looking at his cell phone at the front. “I want all of you to pack your things before going to bed tonight,” he tells the ladies when looking through a mail, “so you can be ready early in the morning and then Hannah, if you aren’t going straight to bed, I am being told you should go through your script a little more.”

“Can’t I do that on the flight?” Hannah mutters, clearing her hoarse throat.

“Didn’t you say that on the way here too?” Julia wonders.

“I did look through the script on the flight to New York – you know, I have already done those scenes,” Hannah answers in a matter of fact tone to her friend.

“And then when you are back in Korea you will film more scenes, right? Just do as you’re told, Hannah,” Manager Park kindly informs and then tells Emelia that they can’t leave their rooms tonight (Emelia had before asked if they could go on some night exploring as they had done another night).

“Just sleep and leave then?” Emelia sighs, staring out the window. “If we stayed a day extra, we could hang out with Katy Perry…”

“OMG she is amazing!”

Just like it has been 24/7 during the whole stay in New York, their hotel has a few fans in the lobby. Their managers beg the girls to please walk to their rooms and prepare for tomorrow’, but the ladies are thankful to the fans who are awake at this late hour and since they don’t know when they will come back to New York or the US next time, 5 Pieces stops briefly the second there are fans asking for an autograph or wanting to get their attention.

“Oh my, what happened to your voice?!” the fan in front of Hannah bursts out as the blonde youngest asks for her name to write the autograph.

“Ah, my voice is fine,” Hannah answers with an apologetic smile, “I’m just a little hoarse.”

Manager Park keeps trying to apologize to the fan and push the ladies away, the other managers doing the same so the ladies waves and apologizes too for having to leave. Maria tells the fans to go get some sleep – to sleep about her…

 

Not even six hours later, 5 Pieces arrives at the airport to go back to Korea. Though being tired, the ladies are still sweet and polite as fans are waiting even at the airport to wish them a good flight home and to come back soon again. Hannah is wearing the black cap she got from a fan the other day, and in her handbag she has what she needs for the long flight. Earphones are plugged in her cell phone, reaching from her pocket up to her ears when they have come through security and are waiting to board the plane. Just as it was last time at this airport, fans are on the other side of a glass, having a pretty good view of where 5 Pieces are sitting with their crew.

Hannah is tired and her voice is hurting badly. The second she doesn’t have something in her voice she can feel it hurt, so she is on her fourth cough drop since they left the hotel; on the flight she will use chewing gum. Her voice is bad too, she has to whisper to get any sound out at all, and before speaking she is now coughing or clearing .

“I’m going to get some water, do you want anything?” Manager Park asks Hannah when he stands up on his feet. The youngest shakes her head, barely even glancing up at the manager who asks the others the same question. Carolina seems to be sleeping in her seat, her head down.

Hannah has taken out her cell phone, holding it with both hands in her lap when now sitting down and she could be looked to be sleeping too if it wasn’t for her fingers moving. She is writing a text to Jonghyun that she will board the plane soon; he seems to keep a close eye on her from across the globe, always texting her no matter where she is. After coming to the hotel she had gone to Emelia and Julia’s room to get help going through her script, ending up sitting in their stylist’s room and going through it on her own before she went back to her own room. It is really difficult to fall asleep after meeting big celebrities; so difficult. Hannah did a lot of things for two hours beside from going to sleep, and now when sitting here she wants to go through the script some more before boarding so she can just sleep and relax on the flight. She has no energy to take out the script from her bag though, but she keep thinking of what she has read from it.

Their manager returns with two bottles of water in one hand and his cell phone in the other, giving Maria one bottle and the other he gives one of the staff before he steps up to Hannah.

“Your sister has tried to reach you,” he tells her and with her eyes barely open Hannah leans her head back to look at him.
