“You must send her my greetings,” trainer Park Hyun says when the day’s hours at the gym is over. Hannah looks at him.

“You said the same thing yesterday,” she smiles at him when picking up her bag.

He smiles too. “I just want to make sure that you tell Julia that I like her song and wish her good luck tonight.”

“I will, just as your text message will,” Hannah giggles and she touches his arm as thank before leaving. Park Hyun has already texted Julia, wishing her the best on her solo debut this evening on Music Core.

Now when they are done at the gym, Hannah heads home to the apartment where they are starting to pack things to move to their new apartment. Where they will move, the ladies don’t know yet, they don’t even know when. But still there are fewer things to use in the apartment today than what it was yesterday when they came home from Tokyo. Manager Lee gives Hannah a ride, and he takes a walk with the puppies while she washes up and gets dressed.

Whenever she looks in her wardrobe she sighs. She barely has any clothes left now, and Yong Hyun says he will buy a whole new, fresh wardrobe for her to use, but at the moment there isn’t much. Stylist Yong Hyun has actually somehow found a pleated a-line skirt in her wardrobe, an old one that Hannah has maybe used one time – because skirts isn’t her thing – but today, in the freaking stuffy burning weather even if the sun, it is tempting. Especially now when she knows she has it. So she pulls on the dark gray skirt, muttering at her legs that she probably never will be satisfied with, takes a short-sleeve logo print t-shirt in black and just to ditch the summer-feeling she puts on a thin summer parka. All left is shoes. Her hair is a little wet even if she tried to dry it but she is satisfied.

Hannah gets ready to leave, standing in the hall when Manager Lee returns.

“Are you ready to leave?” he asks her.

“Not yet… Do you know what pair of shoes will fit these clothes?” Hannah asks and she steps back to let him see her outfit and her eyes get small when seeing his face-expression. “What?”

Manager Lee smirks and looks at the shoes on the shoe-rack. “You are wearing a skirt. Any occasion?”

“Julia’s solo debut could be a good reason, not because my outfit is very…”

“Flashy,” he finishes her sentence and while Hannah glares at him he picks up a pair of shoes to give her. “Are we bringing Michin with us?”

“Yes. The others are there too, so he can’t be left out, right?” Hannah smiles when struggling to put on the sneakers. When she is done she claps her hands for Michin who has excitedly been waiting as he knows they will all go someone since he is still wearing his leash. Manager Lee gives her the leash and they are leaving. Hannah makes Michin excited to go as she is excited for Julia’s solo debut.

The whole ride to Music Core she and Manager Lee talks about it. Julia’s single came out yesterday, today is the debut stage and though they are going there now, they also went there in the morning when the performance was being recorded along with Girls’ Generation’s Yuri. The whole group of 5 Pieces came to support, but Hannah is going there now because Julia is still at Music Core and the youngest wants to be moral support.

Maria has spent the day in the recording studio for her very own solo, as she is preparing to release a full-length album – she is going back after Music Core. The songs they are recording seem really good, all from ballads to catchy pop. According to what is being said, she will make a comeback in late August or in September. She keeps texting Hannah with an hour between each text, reminding Julia that she is there with her spirit and that she will watch it on TV.

Hannah holds Michin in her arms when they walk backstage, just to not have him run up to every person they meet. Like always when she comes to a music program after not being there for a few weeks (though she was here last week for EXO’s comeback) it is a bunch of strangers there. Who are all these groups? Young idols with names she has never heard before. Then she spots some red-dressed idols by one of the dressing-rooms, going in and out of the room and Hannah just starts to smile. A purple-haired Baekhyun leans against the door-frame; looking inside the room while Kris walks inside, leaving Baekhyun and Kai the only two left in the corridor. Hannah sneaks up next to them, looking past Baekhyun inside the room.

“Anything interesting?” she asks.

Baekhyun gives out a shout, almost falling inside the room and stumbling on his feet when looking at her while Kai smiles widely and people inside the room looks at them. Hannah giggles with satisfaction, keeping Michin in her arms when Kai starts to pat him and the others give a surprised greeting at her.

“You scared me!” Baekhyun cries out with a hand on his chest, trying to breathe.

“Crazy,” Tao laughs in bad Korean and rushes up to Hannah who is trying to hold Kai away from taking the puppy away from her. Tao thinks it is hilarious that 5 Pieces have named their puppy ‘crazy’ – therefore his reaction to see Michin.

“All of you look nice today,” Hannah smiles at the red clothes; she likes that colour.

“You have come all the way here for us right?” Kai jokes with her, “Or are you leaving us for someone else?”

Hannah actually raises her eyebrows at him. “We are a big family, don’t talk crap,” she tells him so they all laugh at her, but they still know what she means so Hannah is satisfied. It is all about SM Town – EXO made their comeback, Julia as well as Henry is making their debut – of course she has to come support the big family.

Luhan holds on to Michin’s leash when he and Kai follow Hannah to the other dressing-room nearby where the two solo artists are. Hannah (who now doesn’t hold on to Michin now) runs straight up to embrace Julia with a laugh, congratulating her. Julia starts to jump and cheer too, and the others in the room glance strangely at them when they just let out the happiness by holding hands and jumping on their spot. Luhan has opened his mouth watching them, surprised. None of them reacted like that last week when EXO made their comeback…

“Can’t I get a congratulation hug too?” Super Junior-M’s Henry steps up next to the two girls with his arms stretched out, but instead of a hug they take his hands to jump all three of them and cheer over two of them making their solo debut. And Taemin is there too. Hannah doesn’t notice him until he is jumping along with them, and by that time she is already slinking away from it because Michin is barking to join them and Kai had to take him because Luhan freaked out over what to do. Michin stops barking when Hannah gives him attention, happily waving his tail at her.

“You didn’t bring any grapes?” Julia asks when everyone have calmed down, noticing that neither Hannah nor Manager Lee have it with them.

Hannah looks surprised at her manager. “I knew we forgot something.” He shrugs his shoulders too, saying they can eat it later. Julia doesn’t seem to mind though as she starts to talk about her day doing interviews. Their puppy Ryo is also there, he must have been exhausted from being backstage and having fun the whole day as he didn’t even get up when they were jumping around earlier. And there are cameras there too, filming for Life of Pieces to film Julia’s solo debut and activities. Cameras are with Maria in the studio too, and with Carolina who says she is on her way.

Among the SM family there today, Henry is first up on stage. Hannah is sitting backstage with Ryo in her arms, watching the performance on the TV-screen and pretending she is invincible from the rookies that drop by to greet 5 Pieces’ Julia.

“Are you always like this?” Kai wonders when seeing Hannah really avoiding looking at the door.

“Ssh,” she waves him off with her hand, focusing on Henry’s [Trap] performance.

Kai and the EXO members go to prepare their own stage, bowing when leaving Julia and Henry’s dressing-room and those in there wishes them all the best for their performance. Carolina meets them in the corridor, shouting loudly so those in the room can hear her.

“I wonder who is coming,” Julia rolls her eyes but she is smiling.

Making a solo debut is really fun. She has never gotten this much attention before; her ladies aren’t leaving her alone and each time she checks her cell phone there is text messages waiting for her and at times even missed phone calls. All this attention makes her think that her weeks without a schedule last year can be forgotten thanks to all this attention. The other ladies who have had their solo activities have really had a lot of fun promoting on their own, and though Julia’s first chance doing it was yesterday where 5 Pieces appeared to tell all fans to support her, today has been a lot of fun. She always works with 5 Pieces. She either works with all five of them or she goes on TV or radio with one or two of the ladies, but this time it is all about Julia. It is a single just for her, along with Girls’ Generation’s Yuri who features in the main song, but it is her first time doing something as Julia. She will always be 5 Pieces’ Julia, but on the single it says only her name. She knows why Emelia loves it so much. It is a different superior feeling even being backstage, with all the juniors coming to greet HER and this time it is only her they greet.

Even now when Hannah has been hiding in the sofa but she is still there and you can see that she is there because she is the only foreigner standing out with her blonde hair in the room; the juniors are still bowing to Julia. She is in the focus here and she is enjoying it, and Hannah can see it.

“JUUUUL!” Carolina starts shouting by the door so the puppies get a fright, but Carolina like always doesn’t notice and run up to Julia while singing her song [I’m Sleepy]. Hannah keeps hugging Ryo in her hands, telling him in a low whisper to not care about the loud piece.

Carolina is just as happy to see Julia as she is when Henry and Taemin come back from their performance. She is so eager and loud and talkative that Henry doesn’t even get an answer on if she missed his performance (Hannah says in a low voice that the rest of them saw it, giving him the thumbs up) and Taemin sits down on a chair with a huge smile watching Carolina being on the top.

“Did someone give her pure sugar or something?”

They laugh; everyone beside from Carolina understands the question. “You ask me if I ate sugar? No … I didn’t eat pure sugar anyway.” She still seems like she has, which makes the others in the room laugh some more.

Hannah stops listening to everything going on when she focuses on her cell phone where Jonghyun has sent her three text messages in the last five minutes. He gets restless when she isn’t fast to write back.

 

“Do you want to go with me to SNSD’s concert after this?” Carolina asks when sitting down next to Hannah, trying to show a cute face-expression. “Maria can’t go, Julia says she will go tomorrow and Emelia says she has other plans. But its SNSD, of course we are going, right?”

While her friend is talking, Hannah just looks at her with an empty face-expression, asking herself in her head if her friend really is asking this. It is the third time she is asked this week – by Carolina.

“I have a schedule, Carolina…” Hannah says in a low voice and Carolina looks completely surprised.

“No you don’t.”

“I have a performance… I have told you before. Emelia is coming with me,” Hannah grimaces. And Hannah thinks her head is messy.

“Ah, so that is what she said she will do,” Carolina laughs. Hannah just shakes her head at Carolina’s ignorance, not understanding how this friend of hers can ignore something you repeat for her so many times.

Hannah has been asked to perform [I CRY] tonight, and Emelia promised to come along as moral support backstage because Hannah – as the ladies know – is insecure when it comes to this certain song. Probably because it isn’t a pop song with choreography and dancers but a ballad with Hannah just standing there, all the focus on her voice; they know she is insecure, which is why Emelia want to come along.

“Hannah, ten minutes, and then we have to leave,” Manager Lee says, looking away when Hannah grimaces.

Everyone is up on the stage for the ending, and Hannah along with the others is sitting backstage, just waiting for it to end. When the show comes to an end, Hannah is standing ready to leave. She just wants to give Julia a hug before she has to go, a hug to congratulate her for the first show. And to Henry too; she wants to congratulate them both before she leaves.

Hannah stands in the corridor, starting to laugh when she spots Julia, who is dancing her way through the corridor – which isn’t normally like Julia, but she does it for a reason. “I am a solo artist~” she sings happily when approaching Hannah and they both laugh when embracing each other brightly.

“Congratulation! Congratulation! Congratulation our Julia~” Carolina singing when jumping out to join them and all three of them sings it, not caring over the rookies walking by with back bents for them. 5 Pieces isn’t exactly the typical senior group who smiles and treats all their juniors nicely or superior; 5 Pieces is more of the kind that is too busy with their own thing that they rarely notice other things.

“Are you leaving now?” Henry asks in English when getting a hug from Hannah on his way inside the room.

“Duty calls,” Hannah jokes, also in English and she gives him a smile. Henry gives her another hug, thanking her for coming here though she actually came from Julia, she has supported him too. Hannah waves to those left in the room and when turning around she almost walks in Taemin who grabs her arm and she is suddenly pushed by him to stand next to him.

“One fast picture with the musketeers before you leave,” Taemin laughs and waves at Kai who steps up on her other side. EXO members are passing by after coming from the stage and Kris among them stops by the dressing-room to say some final words to Henry and Julia in his brilliant English. One of their manager’s steps up in front of the trio standing together in the corridor, getting ready to take the picture of them when Hannah covers her face with a peace-sign. It all happened so fast. One second she was saying goodbye, and the next she is pressed between two tall younger idols for a picture and Hannah is well aware of how she looks.

“I don’t have any make-up on,” Hannah whines when Taemin tries to take down her hand. Chanyeol has stopped next to the manager with a stupid smile, at first just enjoying the sight of the 3 Musketeers gathering for a picture but when Hannah doesn’t want to show her face he laughs. He then remembers what he has on his head and takes it off, handing it to Hannah who looks puzzled. Kai takes the red cap from her to put it on her head, hiding her face with the white letter WOLF on the cap pointing forward.

“Is there someone else who thinks I am being forced here?” Hannah asks whoever is there when hiding under the cap with Kai and Taemin tightly on her side, probably looking cool for the camera while Hannah is just hiding under the cap. But in other thoughts, she do show support to EXO with the cap. A few chuckles are heard around her over her question and Taemin tells her to stop complaining. Once the picture is taken, Hannah hits her elbow at his side (not hard, of course), just because he said that. Taemin laughs.

Hannah thanks Chanyeol for borrowing his cap, returning it before she says goodbye to everyone again and has to almost jog to the car.

“Emelia will meet us at the saloon,” Manager Lee tells Hannah when getting in the car.

“I know,” she mumbles. Emelia has texted her that, along with Jonghyun texting her too. Her boyfriend can be really annoying at times with his text messages constantly falling in. His texting has been kind of calm when she is in Japan, but since yesterday she came back he has almost been texting her nonstop. Especially now, and she thinks he is bored at the moment when he is texting her so much.

During the drive, Manager Lee can’t help but to smile at Hannah. This girl always shows when something is bothering her. She sighs and makes faces each time she gets a new text message. When the manager asks what it is troubling her, Hannah says it is nothing to talk about. It leaves her mind when they are at the saloon though, her head getting filled with thoughts about her performance.

Hannah gives a sigh at her cell phone. The next morning, she is still lying in bed with the curtains over the window but though the room is dark her cell phone keeps lightening up. She has nothing on her schedule today, but she has a lot of things to go through for her book being published in three weeks. Not because her boyfriend seems to care that she wants to sleep a little longer in the morning by the fact that he texts her even if she wrote that she is still sleeping.

In Maria’s room it is talk and motions, Hannah can hear it from her own room how they are going through the leader diva’s wardrobe. Both Yong Hyun and Mi Young are there at the moment to help her out, to help sort through the only wardrobe left. The ladies still doesn’t know where or when they are moving, but even their stylists are saying the new place will not disappoint them. By how their apartment looks now, it does look like they will move apartment maybe next week, when they come back to Korea the next time. Hannah is still curious over the place – where is it, when will they move, how it looks like… – she hates that their managers wants to surprise them with the new apartment.

The door to her bedroom is opened ajar and paws clicking against the floor enter the room. Hannah yawns and looks over the bed-side down at the floor where a breathing puppy is happily looking at her.

“You also think I should go up, Ryo?” Hannah sighs and puts down her hand for the white puppy.

“Bunny,” Yong Hyun is by the door, knocking on it lightly. “I got a bag of new clothes for you in the living-room. Go through them before I leave so I know if you can wear them all.”

She just mumbles for answer and her stylist walks back to Maria’s room. It is always the stylist buying clothes for them. Maria and Emelia buy clothes online (Emelia mostly buys clothes while Maria is crazy over shoes and accessories), while the other three ladies don’t do it often. Hannah and Carolina has never done it, so the stylists get to be their personally shopping stylists. Even when it comes to underwear – no one knows Hannah’s sizes better than Yong Hyun, and he is a guy. Hannah’s only worry now is that Yong Hyun have been instructed by SM Entertainment to not buy Hannah the dark clothes that she always love to wear (clothes in black or gray). All of a sudden she is worried for what new clothes he has bought her and Hannah gets out of bed, wearing her long raglan-sleeve print t-shirt with bare feet walking over the chilly floor and Ryo hurrying after her out of the room.

Julia has already gone to the rehearsals and pre-recording of tonight’s Inkigayo for her second music program solo debut, Maria has gone to the saloon to prepare for today’s We Got Married and Emelia went with Julia to support their friend – and to meet MBLAQ. Carolina is going to the company today, and Hannah is going too.

There is no one in the living-room or the kitchen when Hannah goes there, but she sees their kitten Ace lying between two shopping bags in the sofa, stretching out between them and turning around to look at Hannah when she steps up there. Hannah is still newly woken up so she doesn’t say anything; instead she picks up Ace in her arms, cuddling with the kitten when she sits down in the sofa with a leg put up so she is facing the bags too. She spends a lot of time with Ryo and Michin, as Hannah often is the one taking walks with them and being around them, but she isn’t as much with Ace though he has been with them a year longer. Ace doesn’t seem to mind because he is just cuddling with her like he is with anyone of the ladies who holds him, but Hannah feels bad when she doesn’t treat all their pets the same. She kisses Ace on the top of his small head, holding him against his chest with one hand when looking through the shopping bag with her name in it. The other bag is Carolina’s – so Hannah wonders if the others have already gotten their bags or if the stylist only bought clothes for these two.

The first thing she picks up is an ivory coloured cutaway-shoulder sweater. It looks heavenly, but Hannah still grimaces; she can’t see herself wearing it. She picks up the next thing in the bag, which is a light blue distressed denim jacket. Again she grimaces; it is gorgeous, but …

Maybe it isn’t her shopping bag. That thought is changed when she finds a smaller shopping bag in the bigger one, and she puts Ace down in the sofa to look through the smaller one.

“Oppa!” Hannah bursts out when picking up a leopard printed bra – and by the size of it, it is Hannah’s. “OPPA!”

“I’m coming sweetie~” Yong Hyun is chuckling when hurrying out of Maria’s room. It is almost as if he has waited for this. Well, he knows what he has bought, so of course he kind of expected her reaction. Hannah glares at him when holding up the bra.

“What is this?”

“A y and comfortable Sicilian leopard coloured bra – perfectly sleek and fullest coverage.”

Hannah just stares at him. “You want me to wear this?”

“You are turning 21 next month, this is what young ladies wear,” Yong Hyun answers before rolling his eyes and he sits down on the other side of the shopping bags, waving his hand for Ace to move a bit. He knows that Hannah has never owned any underwear in leopard print. “And I think your boyfriend will really like these things.”

The girl glares when he says ‘these’ and for bringing up Jonghyun, and she then looks through that smaller bag to see matching to the bra she has in her hand along with more sets of matching bras and – there is three different ones including the leopard one; a white bra with pretty picot trim and center bow and , and a blue bra and in lace. All three of them are y, but Hannah looks back at her stylist with a glare.

“What happened to the basic style?”

Hannah is used to wear underwear that covers and can be used to mostly any outfit, in basic colours and very simple. This, is not what her stylist usually buys her.

“As a y idol, you can’t be dressing like you are 16 anymore, so we all grow.”

“I got no idea of what you are saying,” Hannah whispers. It is too early for her. Her eyes can barely even stay open.

“Just try it on. For me; your fashion expert, friend and stylist who is in charge of how you dress,” Yong Hyun tells her with blinking eyes. Hannah just sighs, looking through what more it is. Another smaller bag, that Hannah just opens to glance in before looking at her stylist with an empty face-expression. Yong Hyun is just smiling.

“It is summer and you never know what will happen. I got one for Carolina too; not the same, of course. Just try it on, Hannah.”

“I haven’t worn a bikini in years, Yong Hyun…”

“Which is why you should get one,” he says in an excited louder voice, “you won’t be 20 forever, and you should definitely not hide that body.”

Hannah whines and lies down in the sofa. Why do they always have to bring up her body? It is a body! Everyone have one. The bikini is in deep blue with purple ties, add-2-cups halter top and a side-tie bikini bottom. But it is a bikini. When would Hannah get time to go to the beach?

“You can’t complain about everything I have bought for you,” Yong Hyun sighs and grabs the shopping bag, picking up a navy blue lace-trim empire tunic. It is gorgeous from top to toe, and when Hannah looks at it she is actually impressed. She would never find an opportunity to wear it, it is too gorgeous, but even Yong Hyun knows that she likes it. He picks up the last piece in the bag; a scoop-neck t-shirt in orange and sees that Hannah looks satisfied with it.

“Now we are getting somewhere.”

“Don’t be overjoyed so fast. It is transparent – something you can wear over the bikini or it isn’t a much, to anything else too,” Yong Hyun answers and puts it back, ignoring Hannah’s disappointed look when he says it is transparent. “Please try them on…”

Hannah breathes out annoyed, still not awake, but she gets up and grabs the bag to go change clothes in her room, to try them on. The cell phone on her bed shows two missed phone calls from Jonghyun when she comes back to her room, and three text messages asking why she isn’t answering. Annoyed she presses the button to call him back, holding the cell phone to her ear while taking out the bras and on her bed. She will only try the bras, but she wants to see how everything looks like. She would actually look good in these?

“Nabi! Why don’t you answer when I call?”

“I told you I was sleeping, why would you call?” Hannah mutters, trying to hold the bra against her chest when looking in the mirror. She is not in the mood to either try the clothes or talk to Jonghyun. She hasn’t even gotten time to wake up yet.

“So you ignored my calls?” Jonghyun is surprised.

“No… Yong Hyun told me to go look through some clothes,” she mumbles, trying to hold the cup right around her with one hand. “But you ignored what I texted you – I was in bed, sleeping, and you still called.”

“I’m busy, so I don’t know when I can talk to you next time,” he says as an excuse. “When will you be at SM?”

“Don’t know… Are you there all day?” She doesn’t mutter anymore, she is just pouting a little. The leopard bra will not look good on her, she is sure of it. She almost glares at the coming along to it. How does her stylist pick out these things?

“All day, more or less,” Jonghyun answers, “are you coming?”

“I’m going there when Carolina wakes up – who knows when that is – and tonight we are going to SNSD’s concert,” Hannah answers, throwing another bra on the bed before pulling off her nightclothes. “I can text you when I’m at SM.”

“Okay, do that, Nabi. I love you,” Jonghyun finishes the call.

“I love you too,” Hannah whispers before hanging up.

With a sigh she throws the cell phone on the bed and starts to try out the different clothes.

Each thing fits. It annoys her that her stylist knows her body-size so well, when she doesn’t even know, and she keep looking in her full-size mirror at what she is wearing. Her stylist has a great taste, Hannah’s only problem is that she isn’t sure it fits her style, but … he is the one buying her clothes after all. In the bag it was actually a pair of blue distressed skinny jeans too, but he didn’t show them off like the rest of the clothes just because both he and Hannah knows she has barely any pants left after what he did last week – all she has now is sweatpants and cropped pants, mostly. All her other pants and jeans were old, according to her stylist.

Hannah takes on the blue lace bra that she got today; pulling on the new skinny jeans as well as the ivory cutaway-shoulder sweater that she thinks makes her look slimmer and she thinks the long sleeves is really nice, and the sweater goes down her so she feels more comfortable. Oh, she has never dressed in such bright colours before on her own. She is slightly impressed with herself when checking her mirror reflection; the only problem is that she still looks to be half asleep. Hannah goes to the bathroom, washes her face, brushes her teeth and she has no need of make-up as she is only going to work with herself today. Her skin has gotten better with the weather for some reason, she doesn’t understand it because whenever they are filming in Japan, being in the sun they wear make-up, but her skin doesn’t get worse. It actually looks good today without make-up, but she wonders if it also is because she just woke up – her skin is just as a big question-mark as her body.

“Hannah!” Maria is calling out when hearing someone walk out in the corridor. Hannah walks over to her room, peeking inside to see that all Maria’s shoes are on the floor. She can fill the whole room with shoes, it is shocking. “Try these on.”

Maria has sorted out her shoes in three categories; shoes she will keep, shoes she won’t keep and shoes somewhere in between. It is those in between Maria wants the youngest to try, and the stylists also say that those shoes in the middle have nothing wrong with them, but Maria has just too much shoes. She even has shoes that she can’t wear. Maria’s problem with shoes is that 90% of them are high heels and pumps, all with at least 10cm heels. Hannah tries a bunch of them that she thinks look good, and those that the others want her to try too.

“Any kind of shoes works with that outfit,” Maria tries to sell on as many shoes as possible on to Hannah, so more shoes won’t be leaving 5 Pieces. All five ladies will have to try them on. Mi Young has chosen three shoes as well – Yong Hyun would have gotten a bunch if he was a woman too. None of them forgets to praise Hannah for the clothes, and they praise Yong Hyun for his amazing styling.

Hannah points at a pair of black cross-strap platform pumps in the middle category. “Aren’t you keeping these?”

“I’m keeping the white ones,” Maria proudly answers and picks up the same kind of pair but in white.

The young lady then points at a pair of star appliqué high-top sneakers in gray. “Aren’t these mine?”

“I said the same thing,” Mi Young giggles while Maria looks guilty.

“You gave them to me, remember?” Maria tries but Hannah picks up the shoes – that haven’t been used – and gives Maria a bad glare. “Take them then…”

In the end, Hannah takes five shoes. A pair of lace-up sneakers with small stripes, they look really good; a pair of floral inset faux sude shoe boots in black with super high heels that probably only works if you go on a party; chain-accent platform pumps in red with 11cm heels, this pair look really classy and it was Mi Young who convinced Hannah to take them; a pair of bluckled side-zipper tall boots in black with 10cm, that Maria convinced her to take so Maria can borrow them from time to time and the final pair are a pair of black bow-accent platform ankle boots with 13cm heels. Four high heels, which Hannah can understand because that is mostly what Maria has to offer. They look barely used and Hannah doesn’t think she will use them more either, but today she actually promises Maria to wear those black bow-accent platform ankle boots, because the leader wants Hannah to show them off and she thinks it matches the outfit. Hannah looks definitely taller wearing those boots with 13cm, taller and her legs look really good too.

It takes one hour before Carolina is woken up, and another two before she is finally ready to leave. Hannah has gotten a lot of things done at that time; she has packed some for their moving, she has taken a walk with Ryo (wearing sneakers at that time), written down two pages where she plans for interviews and more for her up-coming book, and also seeing Carolina trying on Maria’s shoes as well.

 

Manager Lee is yawning when driving the two girls to the company. Carolina and he has a very important conversation about coffee, with Carolina telling him that tea is much better and that coffee makes you use the bathroom all the time (“just look at Julia” she says). Hannah drinks neither coffee nor tea, so she doesn’t say much. They stop by a café not far to the company for Carolina to buy a cup of tea to bring with her (their manager get his morning coffee too to bring with them) and they then goes to the company, where Hannah text Jonghyun before the car stops that they are there now. As always there are fans outside the company when they arrive, and two security guards walks up to the van to make sure the fans keep a distance. Whose fans? You never know outside SM, but most of the time the fans standing there doesn’t mind who the idol it is they spot as long as it is an idol.

Hannah grabs her black belted canvas backpack where she has papers, her laptop and more for the day, stepping outside after Carolina in her high heels to throw the bag over her shoulder and keeps her head low when being directed by the security to the building. Fans are shouting out and giggling in low voices, and Hannah sees Carolina almost stumbling on her way through the doors – not because there are a lot of people, she just stumbles. Hannah bites her lip to not start to smile behind her back, and the youngest hurries her steps inside the building.

“Where are you going?” Hannah wonders when she, Carolina and their manager are inside.

“I’m going to help out with our concert planning,” Carolina is smiling widely. “Emelia will come later too. Are you going?”

Hannah shakes her head.

Manager Lee walks with Hannah to a room nearby where Carolina and a few others will be, planning this and that for 5 Pieces concert. Or the company has already made plans and Carolina will be 5 Pieces’ spokesperson about it. Either way, Hannah can’t focus on that now. Hannah has just sat down and taken up her things on the table when Manager Lee returns with a bunch of papers that Hannah will go through. Most of it is just questions that she will get for different interviews and for the press-conference, so she has to write down good answers and then remember it; though she doesn’t have to remember it until it is time for the interviews. These are her cheat papers.

Her manager makes sure she has everything before he leaves again, going to the other room while Hannah is working. It doesn’t feel much as work for Hannah because she love to read questions and answer them based on the book’s fact, her own thoughts and feelings and what the company has written down. There is a lot of focus on what she will say in interviews, especially at the press-conference where other countries and a lot of media will be present. She has no idea how the company has been struggling with media ever since it came out that a second book of ‘Joe’ is being published. The company has to sort out who will attend the press-conference; talking about having two of them because of the amount of interest, and they had to change the location as well.

Hannah remembers last year when the first book was being published. On her birthday she was doing an interview/press-conference about the book, sitting comfortably in a chair with journalists and more in front of her and it was really cosy with them talking and asking questions and Hannah simply answering. She was very comfortable at that interview. A woman for a Korean magazine always writes good things about 5 Pieces and also was part of the press-conference last year started to call in right away when hearing about the second book, and she has a secure spot for the next press-conference. If you are on good terms with the company or Hannah, you get a secure spot for this book’s press-conference while other media are fighting to get there.

“How’s it going, magnae?”

Hannah looks up to see Carolina walk inside the room, smiling like always and jumping to take a seat.

“It’s going well… Are you done already?”

“No,” Carolina laughs, “we have taken a short break. Emelia is catching up in there now too.”

Hannah nods and glances at the time on her cell phone. Jonghyun hasn’t texted a response for when she wrote she has arrived; he is probably practicing or is busy somehow, as he said he will be. But it has already taken one and a half hour since Hannah started. She has even taken off those high heels, now sitting in socks and working even if Carolina interrupts her.

“They loved our [Daze] performance from the arena tour, the remix we did, so they want to do it in this concert too,” Carolina is talking about the meeting she has been in. “But it doesn’t fit in the list we have now. And we will be wearing high heels – have you ever fallen down on your knees in high heels before? However it ends, we will have to practice most of the concert in heels.”

“Yoona says it is pain to do that,” Hannah mutters, not looking up from her own papers where she is writing by hand.

“Mm… All of them say that. A concert wearing heels from beginning to end… Being a girl-group is difficult,” Carolina sighs but then smiles widely again. “I’m going to see if Emelia need some better explaining. We will make it the best concert, Hannah; you can focus on the book for now and joins us later, alright? Good luck, magnae!”

“See you later,” Hannah smiles back at her friend who leaves the room brightly.

Hannah pouts at the cell phone when she now is left alone. Her boyfriend who was so obsessive this morning is now too busy to answer her. Would he accept it if she was too busy to answer his texts and calls or would he get upset over it? At times it seems like everything is one-way. Even Hannah has the feelings that some things others do she doesn’t like, but then she does the same thing herself.

At the moment she will just wait for him to contact her, and again she tries to put her focus back on her book.

Just when she is getting back in the motion on work, her cell phone starts ringing.

“Hi,” she sweetly answers after seeing on the display who is calling.

“Bunny~” sweeter voices in chorus calls out, followed by laughter. It’s SNSD’s Sunny who calls her, but whose voices, Hannah can’t tell just yet. “Bunny~ Are you coming tonight? You are coming tonight! We will expect to see your pretty face here because you didn’t come yesterday. Is that understood?”

“Are you ordering me around?” Hannah laughs, hearing Sunny’s and Yoona’s voices when they are doing their children aegyo.

“Yeeeeees!” they both answers and Hannah keep laughing with them, not answering when it knocks on the door – aware of that people here doesn’t really knock. Yoona and Sunny keeps making noises in the phone but Hannah kind of stops listening for a few seconds when the door is opened, and someone peeks inside.
