Chapter 33

Youngest of Pieces: [WHO- I AM] (8)

“This is a cake,” Emelia says in Japanese and shows the content of the carton to the Japanese camera crew filming today. “It is … It has been coming a lot of things today, this morning, to congratulate 5 Pieces for our very first Arena Tour concert. Which is taking place today. Here. In Tokyo. 5 Pieces in Tokyo, we are awesome you know.”

She just talks gibberish, nervous from head to toe and she looks at the cake she is holding in her hands.

“This cake is homemade. I learned that word today, ‘homemade’,” she continues to talk, using Japanese again, and puts down the cake to pick up another one. “This one got … sauce on it. Strawberries.”

Hannah and Julia appears behind Emelia, looking at the table that is filled with flowers, cake and other things sent in with congratulations card for 5 Pieces’ Arena Tour start-off. Hannah is standing behind Emelia, barely visible for the camera, and after looking through some of the cards on the table she turns around to peek out over Emelia’s shoulder.

“Can you eat it?” Hannah asks Emelia when hearing she is talking gibberish about the cake she has in her hands.

“I can’t,” Emelia answers dryly, “Because our manager is standing over there and looking at us.”

Hannah rests her chin on Emelia’s shoulder to look beyond her, grimacing when seeing their manager is quietly watching them from afar. Julia steps up next to Emelia to look at what they are looking at.

“Let’s run away,” Emelia whispers to the ladies before she turns around to leave the cake before walking off the other direction than their manager, Julia and Hannah leaving with her.

There are more cameras backstage today, as they are filming for their Japan DVD too other than for Korea, America and Sweden. A big mess, but 5 Pieces is already in a big mess. Since morning they have been pumped up for the concert, shouting out happily to their dancers and the band that it is the D-Day and Maria has during the rehearsals been shouting out the most random English words just because she got the energy for it. Right now it is the time after rehearsals before the concert when 5 Pieces yet haven’t gotten their hair and make-up done, they are just trying to calm down and slightly prepare to get ready for it all. Four long tables have been lined up in the corridor to fit all the congratulations the group has received, the ladies constantly stopping by there to look at it with smiles. Maria has already been boasting to a camera about the flowers and card sent in from Asia’s star BoA.

Maria’s sisters are backstage now; after spending four days having a blast in Tokyo on their own, they have now come to the arena to not just support Maria and 5 Pieces but also to meet the little puppies they haven’t met before, so while 5 Pieces are getting their make-up done for the concert, the sisters are sitting on the side and keeping the puppies entertained.

“So which one did you have in mind for us to take home?” Maria’s oldest sister Agnes asks as a joke, but Maria turns around in her chair with a grimace and threatens that it isn’t anything to joke about, but her grimace says she is just playing around too. Sisters between. Hannah is quietly sitting in her chair, having her eyes closed while getting her eye-makeup on.

Everyone that meets Maria’s family says they are a whole bunch of Maria’s. The three sisters have the same nose, their cheeks looks absolutely the same when they smile and other than that there is just something that lets you know that they are related though they don’t have much in common after that. Agnes is overweight, always joking around and blurting out whatever she thinks about; she has short coloured dark brown hair. Molly is of the same height as Carolina and Julia, she isn’t skinny but she is far from overweight, and she has just changed her hair colour back from dark to blonder. And just like everyone says; they are a bunch of the same people. Maria and her two sisters there today are all loud, laughs funnily, they are pretty and friendly and gets along with everyone.

The sisters get quiet when a camera steps inside the room to film, coming inside after Manager Lee.

“There are French reporters outside, trying to get inside with the other reporters,” Manager Lee informs the ladies and he does some funny thing with his eyebrows towards Carolina. He is impressed by it.

“French reporters,” Maria says it in Swedish to her sisters. She then looks at their manager; “Are we going to be interviewed by them?”

“No. I gave a call, and they will be there for the press conference and get some footage from the concert, but you won’t directly be talking to them,” Manager Lee answers, “Oh, and the VIPs are arriving so it would be good if you all could hurry up and get ready.”

Some VIP fans had gotten backstage passage before the concert to get to meet 5 Pieces; get to take pictures and talk briefly with each other. Maria, Emelia and Julia are the first three to leave, as they are already done with their hair and make-up, and a few minutes’ later Hannah hurries with Carolina to go meet the fans too.

“Hello!” Carolina loudly greets each person in Japanese, shaking hand and hugging the fans that look like they either want it or need it.

Hannah waves happily to a little girl who is there with her mother. The most shocking thing about meeting these fans today backstage is that there is not just a certain age of them; a mother 40+, two little girls who are around 12 and a boy who is 14, and then the others are in their teens and twenties. Maria is heard laughing across the room when hugging that boy, because when she had approached to ask for his name in Japanese he had burst out crying and Maria couldn’t find a better reaction than to hug him, laughing when saying he is so cute.

“Why are you crying?” Maria asks him in Japanese, her voice suddenly very light.

“I just … can’t believe I am meeting you,” he answers and apologizes for crying, Maria kindly getting him a napkin to let him wipe his tears. She has Manager Song next to her in case she needs some translation. “My whole room is filled with 5 Pieces. I have been a huge fan since [Original] was released in Korea, and I don’t have money to go to Korea, so with you having this concert I am very happy.”

Maria is smiling when her manager translates because she can’t really catch up with what the boy says as he is crying a little too.

“I’m just really happy, I’m sorry for crying,” he apologizes again while wiping his tears.

“Happy tears are always good tears,” Maria says, actually saying it in Japanese.

Hannah is during that time greeting some girls, laughing when seeing one of the girls having a big picture of Hannah from her Japanese drama; it is a picture taken while filming, so she was in that tough school uniform she was using with blonde hair and a glare looking somewhere else as the picture was taken from the side.

“I was hoping I could get it signed,” the girl asks after getting happy to see Hannah’s reaction.

“Of course, of course,” Hannah answers and she turns around to search for a pen, which she finds at the table next to so she sits down to be able to sign it better. Hannah keeps smiling when looking at the three girls’ outfits. “Where did you get those?”

The three girls are wearing outfit familiar to the ones 5 Pieces wears for [Run Out], and though it is a recent song the girls have really done well on the outfits – even copying the hair; one of them has a wig to look blonde like Hannah, the other has a long orange hair to look a little like Maria and the third one has gotten a short wig to probably look like Carolina.

“The clothes? We made them. Her sister is really good at sewing, so we asked her for help,” the fan answers and points at her friend, happily handing the picture to Hannah to sign. “We had actually decided to wear something else at first, but when [Run Out] came out we were so sold on those outfits! It looks really good at you!”

At the end the fan gets this really desperate admiring voice and her eyes gets huge when telling Hannah that, and the idol smiles and thanks her, finishing signing the picture before handing it back to the fan. Her friends are fast to hand over a card and 5 Pieces’ [Run Out] album for Hannah to sign for each one of them.

“5 Pieces is like my guidebook in life,” one of the girls tells Hannah while starting to look for her favourite picture in the album to get it signed, “you sing about having courage and be who I am and you can do all kind of concepts… it’s really amazing, I’m so looking forward to the concert.”

Once the fans get to start talking, they just continue to talk faster in fear they won’t get to say everything they finally get to say, and Hannah just smiles at them, fascinated by it. She comments on the picture that the fan chooses, talking to the girls some more. The ladies keep being friendly with their fans backstage, taking pictures and chatting and both the fans getting to know 5 Pieces a little more just as much as 5 Pieces gets to know their fans a little more.

Heading back after meeting their fans, the girls are suddenly starting to run through the corridor when seeing who is waiting by the door.

“Appa!” Maria sings out before running in the arms of 5 Pieces’ main manager, the one who isn’t with them in Japan but who has come there just for the concert. He laughs fatherly when not just Maria but the other ladies surround him for a hug too.

“Are you all excited? I heard you haven’t been quiet for a bit the whole week,” Manager Lim laughs when hugging the girls, making sure to not touch their hair as it has been styled.

“You can’t really blame us either, it’s the excitements fault,” Maria answers happily when pushing Carolina away to stop hugging. “Have you met my sisters yet?”

“I just said hello to them,” Manager Lim answers with a smile, putting an arm around Carolina to comfort her for not getting a longer group hug, following them all inside the room. “Hannah, did you warm up before?”

Hannah nods honestly. “Trainer Kim helped me out,” she answers while having stylist Mi Young check her hair that no matter how much you style it or how many products you put it, never sticks in place. Good thing that Hannah’s hair looks good anyway. Trainer Kim Sung Joong is 5 Pieces trainer since almost two years ago, the one who got 5 Pieces in shape for their second album and from time to time makes his appearance to make sure 5 Pieces isn’t slacking off. For concerts he comes too, to make sure the ladies warm up. The reason Manager Lim asked Hannah specifically is because she must warm up a little differently than the others, but when hearing the trainer’s name being mentioned he knows that all five ladies have been warmed up for the concert.

Backstage now, 5 Pieces are getting dressed and ready, kicking everyone outside who are not allowed to be there when they are changing clothes. But once 5 Pieces is dressed and just fixing the details in their opening outfit they let people come inside. Hannah is looking down; hugging a blanket around her while the stylist is helping her with the shoes when a camera-woman comes up in front of her, asking her if she thinks they are ready for the concert.

“The whole day, honestly, I have thought that we can do a lot of things much better than how it went during rehearsals… But after seeing the fans now, I think the best thing to do is to just give our all and hope it is enough,” Hannah answers kindly and finishes with a smile, struggling to balancing when getting her high heels on. “I’m excited! I can’t wait to get up on the stage and start it.”

“Are you excited?!” Emelia shouts out in Japanese, feeling herself being excited too and she laughs happily to the sky when the other ladies are shouting out in Japanese that they are.

But they aren’t getting ready to step up on the stage just yet, as they have interviews and the press conference to do first, and while heading there the girls are going through some of the things they have to remember.

The press-conference feels bigger than what 5 Pieces expected it to be. Reporters are crowding in the room though it is a big room, reporters from other countries that have made a last booking to come inside. There are security and guards present, managers to be the ones controlling who will get to ask the questions. 5 Pieces first of all stands up for the photos before they sit down on the chairs to start answering the questions. Hannah is smiling, her heart nervously and excitedly shaking in her chest.

“5 Pieces ‘Bad Girls’ Arena Tour is mostly based on our first Japanese album [Run out], and while we will go across Japan for the tour we will also promote the album in the cities we go to,” Emelia is explaining in Japanese at the press-conference. Pictures keep being taken, flashing uncontrollable towards the girls. “The tour will be a chance for us to meet our Japanese fans that have waited for not just the album to come out but also for us to have a tour in Japan, and we are extremely excited to go around Japan and perform both new and old songs.”

“According to sources, 5 Pieces have studied Japanese really hard for this arena tour,” a Japanese reporter at the front starts to mention, “are you now able to speak Japanese fluently in your daily life and if you compare your Japanese to how it was before you started preparing for the tour, how much has it improved?”

This time, it is Hannah who answers, putting the microphone below her lips before speaking Japanese. “We are still not able to speak Japanese fluently but all of us are studying hard and I think with us spending so much time in Japan for the tour now we are definitely learning faster than what we have done earlier.”

“For your first arena tour, 5 Pieces have already announced that through your album that you are taking on a ier concept than previously. What made you decide to add y to the concept and how does it change your previous concepts?”

“With all five of us turning 21 this year and we have been performing for five years already, we felt that we could challenge and try on a little ier concept when releasing the Japanese album, just to come with something we haven’t tried before,” Emelia is answering, “we weren’t sure how the Japanese fans would react and we wanted to make sure that we didn’t change our image completely, but the response to our album has been really great so far. Compared to our previous concepts we have definitely made a turn which will be shown during the concert, but we are still the charismatic 5 Pieces.”

The next reporter gets to ask her questions.

“5 Pieces is really popular in Japan, and fans have been lining outside for over two days to see the concert. Have you noticed your popularity something during your short time in Japan preparing for the Arena Tour?”

“I wouldn’t say we have noticed how popular we are, but we are well aware of how dedicated our fans are,” Hannah is answering with a smile, remembering things. “Our fans in Japan have really gotten our attention. They have been sending lunch to not just the group but to all the staff who have been working with us now here at the arena and earlier today we heard them singing our songs outside. I think we can say that our Japanese fans are just as excited as we are for this concert.”

And excited they are. After the press-conference, the chatting is loud backstage. The ladies are making sure the band and dancers are excited too and there are some celebrity guests appearing backstage to wish the ladies good luck. Hannah’s co-worker from her Japanese drama back in 2010 comes and takes a picture with the ladies, members of KAT-TUN comes too and gets a fan-girl reaction from the ladies beside from Emelia who keeps her mask on as she has worked with KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya last year, and then there are some Japanese actors, actresses and even gag people that 5 Pieces never before have met but definitely knows about so the ladies are just freaking out backstage.

Emelia steps outside to a quiet part of the corridor, bringing along a camera to film on her own, and she is filming Carolina who is wearing the stage outfit and the two of them just randomly decided to film. Emelia makes a hand motion for Carolina to talk.

“This is … day one, of the concert. Of 5 Pieces’ Arena Tour in Japan. Our first location is Tokyo, where we will be today and tomorrow before we will go to other cities, and we will also have three days here at the end of the tour too… and it is amazing because the corridors and everywhere at the arena they have the posters for our tour, as you can see here,” Carolina has been saying in English and she now points at the wall behind her that Emelia makes sure to film to reveal that the walls are actually filled with 5 Pieces’ ‘Bad Girl’ tour poster. “How awesome isn’t that!”

Julia is giggling when a Swedish camera-man who films her in the room when she is putting on her microphone headset asks what the most important thing before a concert is.

“Bathroom,” she answers with a giggle, really, she can’t stop giggling. “We will be on stage for about 2-3 hours, so the bathroom is important to use before that.”

Hannah stands over by the wall when she is done getting ready, almost touching her forehead against the wall where she has her palms pressed against the cold surface, her eyes closed and it is now the excitement goes over to nervousness. Her heart is shaking, not beating but shaking and she think she might cry before even getting up on the stage. She is so nervous now, all these weeks of preparations will finally be shown; 5 Pieces will now be judged. All those people sitting out there, waiting for them, she is nervous to know how it will be on stage, she is nervous because she doesn’t know how the concert will end up like, or if the fans will be disappointed in them. Though they said the concert was sold out, she doesn’t know how the place will look like filled with people.

“Oh my god, I’m gonna cry soon,” Maria breathes out, her hand moving and head shaking as if she is listening to some music in her head to get rid of the nervousness; Hannah thought her mind had been read. “Ladies, can we relax our voices a bit together?”

Hannah leaves the wall, joining in the ladies gathering around Maria. Maria looks more like she is going to throw up rather than cry.

“Always so nervous on the first day,” Emelia comments when seeing that all five of them are nervous.

“Gotta blame the feeling, lady,” Maria says in English, having her eyes closed. “Okay, I’m thinking of [Let Me Be Yours], because if we take some Korean song I will be a mess on stage and sing in Korean. Okay? Carolina, start it.”

To warm up their voices, which they already have done most time of the day, 5 Pieces does acapella. But now, just to calm their nerves, they do an acapella of a ballad. The ladies were nodding when Maria suggested the song and Carolina always is the one beginning for acapella, giving of a sound that the other ladies fills out in before they fills in with singing. Improvement, that is exactly what they have done, because now they just need to know the song to be able to turn it to an acapella; they know their parts and each other voices as much as their own, and it helps them to not just warm up but to also be better in synch at the concert. It does help their nerves a little.

A few minutes later the ladies are heading outside from their room to meet up with dancers stretching in the corridor near the stage and the band gathering too.

Hannah stops her steps when they are standing in the corridor, waiting for everyone to gather, the girl just spacing out when a camera appears in front of her face. She gives that smile that shows she was caught.

“I space out when I’m nervous,” she answers, a little embarrassed. She touches the headset by her ear, controlling so the microphone is sitting where it should by while hearing Maria asks in Korean if everyone is here, glancing around. “Is everyone here? Hanako, come over here,” Hannah calls out in Japanese before she moves in closer to join in the circle. 5 Pieces at first standing with their hands on top of each other in the middle, then the band and dancers are surrounding with as many as possible trying to fit with their hands in the middle while the others are just having their hands halfway there or standing with arms around the others; either way, everyone is tightly standing together.

“‘Bad Girl’ first concert!” Maria shouts out in Japanese, the others cheering out at just those words. “Everyone, let us do our best and have fun tonight. … Jump and have fun, we wish the best to Tokyo Drifters, Nice Kiss and 5 Pieces to make history tonight. Ladies, talk much, and … let us do this! Let me hear it!”

“Let’s go!” Emelia shouts out and everyone else follows along loudly; “Let’s go! Let’s go! 5 Pieces!”

And their hands are thrown up in the air, some clapping their hands while others excitedly are shouting randomly. Hannah does high five with a few of the dancers and the band too before they are all telling each other to do well. Hannah hears with her members to try remember the lyrics most of all, and to have a blast.

“And don’t hurt yourselves, everyone!” Hannah calls out in Japanese. She almost walks inside the camera-man who tries to film her from the front and she apologizes with a smile, being asked by him if she has any final words before going on stage. “I’m so nervous I can’t think straight, but once I get on the stage, everything will be perfect as a dream. We’ll do our best. Fighting!”

The stylists are crowding among them to make sure the ladies looks okay before they go take their positions for the opening, nervously glancing at each other because they can hear the audience already. The time passes slowly at that time, the ladies waiting and waiting for the opening video to end. While all focus is on the video, dancers are taking their positions on the stage. They are spread out on the main stage, kneeling down with their backs down and heads low, sitting ready for the opening. 5 Pieces are quiet now, as their microphones are going on soon, and Hannah finds herself swallowing several of times and holding on to the microphone to clear .

5 Pieces are standing below the stage, squatting down on the one-person lifts that will take them up with some space between each other in a line, thinking that their white outfits will definitely shine on the stage. Glancing up at the whole above her, Hannah only sees darkness beside from the lights coming from the video. She can hear the cheers when 5 Pieces’ are individually introduced on the video, but it isn’t as loud as her heart is beating, making her almost unable to hear the audience.

It is time.

They get the signal from the staff and 5 Pieces take their positions sitting down like the dancers on the stage, and the staff lifts them up while the intro song [Bad Girls] starts to play. 5 Pieces are mixed up with the dancers on the stage, no one moving from their positions when the song starts off, but when the beat enters all the dancers suddenly stands up with a jump, and when a voice slowly along to the beat says ‘baaad giiirls’, the dancers are slowly going down on their knees while 5 Pieces are getting up to reveal themselves.

An ocean of purple is what they see. Hannah does her best to keep her face as the big screen filming reveals a close-up on each member, but the sight of the whole arena shining out in the darkness with moving light sticks being waved in the air by the fans and in the darkness of them a loud cheer to see 5 Pieces bursts out, Hannah has some trouble to hold in the tears. 14,000 fans are present, and she almost forgets to start dance the song, too amazed by the sight. And the screaming from the audience won’t stop. Emelia raps in Japanese, the audience screams, Hannah does her special kick and the audience screams – throughout most of [Bad Girls] the audience is screaming.

Hannah got no care in the world that she is wearing a cropped top or the fact that she is dressed all in white, she loves this audience. Though it is charismatic songs they play, she can’t help but to smile. It isn’t this small smile where she is said to be flirting, but it is a real smile that really can’t hide her feelings.

They go straight over to [Sleeper], barely catching their breath before continuing with that song, dancing and singing live for this song too. Hannah can’t really focus on admiring the big audience (14,000 people is in front of her!) while she is busy dancing and singing, and the spotlights on the main stage are making 5 Pieces shine brightly while the audience is black beside from the light sticks shining up the whole place. If it wasn’t for the light sticks, the ladies wouldn’t see anything at all and they wouldn’t realise how big the arena actually is. The ladies are charismatic, singing and dancing as if it is just any concert or stage, doing as they have practiced and rehearsed.

[Sleeper] comes to an end and Hannah starts to smile when [For a Lifetime] starts to play. The song is an OST song for Emelia’s Japanese drama last year, and it seems like the audience knows about the song as they starts to cheer. Emelia in her low, cool voice says at the beginning, putting out one arm coolly while the ladies start to spread out;

*THIS IS…*

This isn’t a dance track, though you probably can dance to it and the ladies also have this special move they will do during the chorus for a few words that always are repeated, but it is a song that definitely is sensed to be fun to perform. Last year, Emelia and Hannah performed it in Japan to promote the drama, and it was really fun. Now, they just added three more girls to make it even better.

[Hannah] *Here we go again!*

“Tokyo!” Hannah shouts out after singing out her simple line, holding her hand to the microphone headset, her hand up in the air when starting to walk out on the side stage to the left along with Carolina. “Do you know this song?!”

[Emelia] *SAY WHAT, SAY WHAT

For a lifetime*

Hannah happily waves to some fans jumping next to the stage she is walking on, now able to see them all better. Fans on the side to her left are trying to reach over to the stage or wave their hands high in the air to get noticed, screaming, and Hannah waves around at them all, both on her left and to her right. While doing those things, she sings along with the other members just simple go ‘ooooh oh oh’ along to the beat. Hannah keeps smiling to the happy and bright audience, even making some movements to the beat that really isn’t dancing but just some happy movements. She is almost reaching the end of that left long arm when she makes a stop, putting one hand by her waist and looks out at the audience, starting to sing.

When they started practicing with all members for this song, Hannah always made mistakes as she is used to have just hers and Emelia’s voices in it, but now when she is on stage she remembers all parts that originally was hers but now has been moved on to the other members. She still has some highlight parts and gets to show off her voice in different ways that she loves to do. Hannah really has a blast performing; she smiles and sings and she doesn’t care if she makes a mistake (not because she makes it in this song, but she feels like she wouldn’t care). She got the attitude for the song, remembering well how the producers wanted it to sound during the recording a year ago, and she got so much praise for having this American sound in her voice so she could handle off these sudden sounds that they said reminded them of Christina Aguilera. And of course, who wouldn’t get all crazy to hear such a compliment?

The audience seems to like that sound she makes too, she notices when the group gathers together on the second stage and prepares for Emelia’s rap. The group steps forward and stops their singing with this turn where they throw their hair with their hand, a diva move, and when stepping back for Emelia to take on the rap, Hannah gives out this extremely light excited sound that makes the audience scream out a little more. In the original song, that part is barely noticed, but Hannah is so excited that she doesn’t care. It isn’t like she ruins for the other members, she just does the things when no one else is singing or rapping. And they are all excited, so it isn’t just Hannah filling out with the great adlibs.

They perform [For a Lifetime] just great. The audience seems to have a lot of fun and the ladies on the stage, you just can’t miss that they are having a blast with their smiles and vocals. As said, it is sensed a really fun song to perform. The moment the song comes to an end and the stage goes dark, 5 Pieces puts on the jackets prepared by staff next to the second stage where they are standing, and when the spotlights starts to shimmer, the band playing in the back and the background singers hinting on the song while the spotlights shimmer are showing 5 Pieces standing on their positions. The dancers are repeating;

*B-B-Black and W-W-White*

And the audience starts to give out a cheer when the band suddenly starts to play the song [Black & White] and the spotlights shines up 5 Pieces, wearing a boxing robe that looks identical to each other, but the ladies stands out with the white clothes beneath and some members have just put the robe on while others have tied the rope around; the fabric is silk, really cool and soft. Just as the band starts to play, the ladies starts to dance and Maria begins to sing right away.

*Hide your feelings well, the mind-reader walks in

I can see through your transparent mask

[Emelia] Tell me what’s wrong

[Maria] Te- Te- Te- Tell me, Te- tell me what*

[Julia] *A young TEENAGE LOVE STORY, so forgotten among the rules

What is it… What made it…*

[Hannah] *Cry, cry, cry, if your heart tells you to

Scream, scream, scream, if your heart tells you to

Go right when they tell you left, show them, show them*

[CHORUS, 5 Pieces] *O-O-O-Ooh – O-O-O-Oooh

I can’t take this anymore, more, more

I just want to run, run, run, run, run, run

O-O-O-Ooh

Throw away all your troubles, all your identities

[Carolina] Tonight, we are free

Because we see black and white*

[090] from their album is performed after a remix of [Black & White] before the ladies rush off the stage to change clothes and the second VCR is shown under the title ‘Running’. While the audience is stunned by 5 Pieces’ video, the ladies are rushing backstage and under the stage. They hurry up to change clothes, Hannah having hands in her face to help her wipe off the sweat and fix the make-up for it to not be shown that she is sweating and it is almost that she just has to stand like a puppet because there are a lot of people helping her out, just as it is for the other ladies.

The next outfit to wear is a black sequin long-sleeve loose top with shorts and a belt around her waist to show her body-line, and the whole group wears the same over-the-knee black boots. While all members are wearing the black sequin shorts to match the top, Julia is having a wide long-sleeve top, Carolina has a sequin top with different lace details, Emelia has simple lace details and Maria is the only one not in shorts as she is wearing a black sequin dress with lace details. This is [Run Out] – therefore the title ‘Running’ on the act. But the outfit for the ladies doesn’t look like a short and top because it is of the same quality, it looks to be one and the same thing.

Barely able to breathe out after changing clothes they hurries back to the stage, in the dark taking their positions while the video is coming to an end. Hannah is at the front, and the band starts to play when the spotlights goes on to shine up the ladies as [Run Out] starts to be played. Hannah smiles a little when starting to dance, hip going from right to left and from left to right, smiling because the fans she can see in front of the stage starts to jump and scream when hearing the song.

*Every time you open your eyes*

Hannah starts to sing, and just the first line makes her smile even more because the audience is singing along. She can’t help but to smile at it.

*Hope fills your heart

And you get out of your mind*

[Carolina] *Every day you get up from beeed

With hopes I might come

YOU WANNA SEE ME AGAIN*

The beauty with a concert is that you don’t have to stick within the lines that you have to do during a live performance on a show. Carolina loves to do things outside those lines at concerts, just these small things that she does from excitement, and now too when doing her part she is overdoing the choreography with a huge smile so the audience starts to cheer.

Their audience seems to love [Run Out], and the ladies are excitedly performing the song for them. When the song comes to an end, the next song starts to play, the piano playing with some background music. Fans who have listened to the album seem to recognize the song, but it is completely quiet in the audience. Dancers are coming up on the stage, slowly walking and the ladies are walking around too to head to their positions, and it doesn’t look like they are preparing for the song to begin but more like this is part of the song.

[What Is This?] is the Japanese song where Maria’s great voice definitely is shown. She has all the high tones in it, and that is also why the audience is quiet: no one wants to miss her opening. The piano is heard playing the last keys and the music is starting to round up to actually begin, and in that moment when the audience is holding their breath, all the spotlights are pointed to the middle of the main stage where Maria is standing on the third step of the stairs, and she is singing out a tone super light and waving, finishing her long tone with a ‘yeah’. And with Maria starting the song like that, the audience starts to cheer lightly because she just nailed the tone.

5 Pieces has spread out; members being on the main stage and above that where the stairs lead to, along with the dancers, and they are singing the song while dancing and moving around. With the special effects from the band and the spotlights, it looks really good, and it sounds good too. While Maria has the super high adlibs in the song, the other members sing in darker voices for the parts they sing together, to then have their own special voices at their solo parts.

It is a really good song, with this beat that makes the audience start to follow along. You don’t have to have heard the song before to like it. Towards the end of the song, the ladies are on the main stage again, standing at the front to entertain the audience a little closer and the band gets to show off some more of them in this song. The song comes to an end, and 5 Pieces starts to move when a different melody starts to play. The piano is with them playing this melody, and once again the audience seems to know what song it is.

5 Pieces have gone serious in their faces, leaving the main stage with slow steps following the piano melody, walking out on the two side stages. The dancers are mixed up with the members, so with Julia and Maria walking on the left stage with three male dancers and two female while the other three ladies walks on the right stage with three male dancers and one female dancer.

Starting to sing sadly and upset to the piano, Carolina sings in Korean while they are still walking.

*Like a shadow, you always appear on the hidden places

As if you were a spy, never let your eyes off me, no, not once*

[Hannah] *Like a wolf, you always know where I am, where I hide

As if you were a ghost, never let your eyes off me, no, not once*

Ditching Carolina’s next verse, they go straight to Maria’s part. Everyone stops, lining up on the long side stages and faces either the audience on the outside or the audience on the inside, and when Maria starts to sing more instruments joins in without breaking the sooth remix, and they starts to dance softly, ily and gracefully.

*I cry, cry, can’t you see the reason

For these tears to fall, it’s all your fault*

The song is [-erase you-], the song that came out along with [Black & White] half a year ago and though it didn’t win many music shows it still got attention and love for being the sort of song never before tried by 5 Pieces. Sad and scared: a song that was like a musical when they performed.

[CHORUS, 5 Pieces] *I am tied up, the black walls of your heart is holding me

I don’t want to remember you, I don’t want you here

It’s suffocating, the deeper it goes

Your love is hurting me, it’s suffocating me

I just want you gone, so don’t come back

I will erase you*
