Jaehyo was waiting for you in the living room, the TV on and him munching potato chips while he rested his feet on the coffee table. His eyes widened at your state, which was quite terrifying when your eyes were all blood shot and goldfishy-like, the white part of it bloody pink. Her shirt was sticky with sweat, and he couldn’t help but see how her face was as dark as a storm rolling over. 

*Gosh, she looks like she’s in trouble *

‘ Jae-yah, are you alright?’ Jaehyo asked while he flipped the pages of a magazine held in his lap. He didn’t want to make this as a subject of conversation such as it was a serious one and he didn’t want the a.k.a Hae to know anything about Jae’s problems.

Without even a ‘yes or no’ as answer, you delved into your problems, analyzing each of Myungsoo’s actions with superb observation, and the more you talked, the more a frown was appearing on your face, scrunching up your eyebrows together to make you look like an old granny.

It’s when you started punching the wall in agitation that Jaehyo knew that the situation was much worse than he had expected, and he made a grab for your arms, pinning you to your sofa and looking into your eyes. He was scared that you would hurt yourself from having punched the wall too many times like you always did when you were frustrated. Unfortunately, he wasn’t here every time to save you from injuries and was worried about that, especially when that boy Myungsoo’s around.

‘ stop that, Jae, you’ll hurt yourself ‘ He said firmly, but gently at the same time, trying to calm you from your frenzy. You relaxed a little bit.

‘ Yeah, but he drives me ing crazy!’ You growled.

‘ But that’s what’s love is all about’ Jaehyo explained. You drew away, suspicious.

‘No, it isn’t’

‘It is, I tell you’ He had a smug look on his face when he said that. * To trust him or not to trust him?*, You thought while tapping your finger to your chin thoughtfully.

‘ How would you know Oppa?”

“ Because…’ He took a deep breath and smiled. But this smile was broken, sad, forced even. And as you looked into his face, you could see how much pain he had been but in, and you didn’t want to feel that. You didn’t want any weird feelings, you just wanted normal. Everything but weird.

‘ Because oppa already went through something like this’

‘Yeah, but your face looks like horsehit when we’re talking about it, and I don’t want to ing end up like that’ You protested while he just shook his head. He got up and pulled you along to your room while Hae, in the other room, could be heard strutting and singing to her favorite kpop group. He closed the door to your room and looked at you meaningfully.

‘ Right, since you like that boy so much – ‘ ‘ I don’t like him!” You shouted at the top of your lungs to cut Jaehyo off and he blinked, then chuckled.

‘ Alright, say you don’t like him but has some attraction?’

“Whatever. We are bloody talking on the IF hypothesis right?’ You raised a brow and he nodded.

‘ So, say if you like Myungsoo oppa, and shut your mouth for a minute ‘ he said quickly when he saw your mouth open again ‘ , you should at least make yourself look pretty for him, right?’

‘Why? He should like me like I ing am’ you replied monotonely.

‘ Yeah, but maybe the way you dress makes him kind of back out, hesitant, you know’

You didn’t, but you nodded anyway like you gave a about it when in fact, you didn’t.

‘ so, we’ll be having a makeover ‘ He clapped his hands together and grabbed your arm, steering you out of the house and walking at a fast pace to the stylist’s shop where his friend had recommended him. Actually, the friend in question was no other than the Nam Woohyun. Since Jaehyo knew that Woohyun had a certain connection to you, he would certainly help you with your matchmaking with Myungsoo, and so, he talked to Jaehyo, planning all the things that are going to transform you from a little cute caterpillar into a beautiful awe inspiring butterfly.

‘ Hello’ the lady greeted you warmly when you two stepped in. The place was simple, but professional, and you could still smell the freshness of the paint lingering on the walls and furniture, but of course, you didn’t point that out. Instead, you just lowered your head and played with your thumbs. Being in a different environment changed your character somewhat.

‘ Annyeong, Omonim’ Jaehyo greeted and hit you hard in the rib. You gritted your teeth and scraped out ‘ Annyeong omonim’ before rubbing your injured rib, glaring daggers at your supposed friend.

‘ So, would you like a makeover? Like Woo-‘ ‘ yes, yes, a makeover, just like HE suggested’ Jaehyo winked at the lady. She winked back. You looked from him to her, but couldn’t quite figure out what was going on.

And so she did, she washed your hair and dried it off before starting on it. She put something that made steam come out, and you were quite shocked at first, seeing a curler for the first time in your life.

She then steered you into a dressing room where she put on clothes that fitted your body well and all the while, you were just mentally cursing Jaehyo . * Jaehyo, you pabo, you ing bastard, I’m so gonna bloody kill you later *

When she had finished her finishing touches, she stepped back and let the mirror appear to you, and for the first time, you actually stare at yourself.

Then you screamed.
