Chapter 45
On the Brink of InsanityHongki glanced up from the paper he was currently grading and watched as his son sighed for the millionth time as he looked back from the clock. He knew that Mir was feeling restless because he was counting down the minutes until he could go visit Kibum at the hospital. Hongki knew that the surgery had to over by now, it was almost four-thirty, but he still hadn’t gotten the call from Heechul.
“Appa, can we go now?” Mir asked hopefully, peering over the armrest of the couch he was laying on.
“No, Mir, I told you we have to wait until umma calls. You may not be able to see Kibum until tomorrow. Now, stop waiting around and get your homework out, I know you have some,” Hongki told his son. Mir huffed loudly and rolled off the couch and headed to his room to get his backpack and bring it to the kitchen to take a seat across from his father.
“I have engerish homework, appa, it’s really hard,” Mir said, pulling out a folder that contained his homework. There were two worksheets of vocabulary that he had to translate, which was actually a lot to do. But that was only because he’d been skipping class to hide out in his father’s classroom.
“Save the English and have Henry help you,” Hongki replied. He at English as well and so did Heechul and Leeteuk. Thankfully Henry could speak it fluently and tended to just do Mir’s homework for him over the phone.
“Henry is so smart, I could never learn how to speak two foreign languages,” Mir said, completely admiring his brother.
“You could if you wanted, but you don’t,” Hongki said without looking up from the work he was grading. He mentally reminded himself to stop assigning his students so many essays, he absolutely detested reading them.
