Chapter 35
On the Brink of InsanityDonghae would have been more excited to be in the new home, but seeing as it was only him and Heechul there wasn’t really much to get excited about. In the past few months he’d grown used to having Kibum’s presence around and it felt weird now that he wasn’t there. Being in the large new house made him feel lonely and he wished one of his brothers was there with him to keep him company. But he had another day to wait until he could see anyone, because tomorrow everyone was coming home. Mir was coming to stay for the weekend, Sungmin and Kibum were coming back, and Leeteuk, Henry, and Eunhyuk were coming to stay too.
He was really excited to see his boyfriend, but he knew that it was going to hurt a lot when it came time for them to leave knowing that he wouldn’t be able to talk to Eunhyuk for an entire month. The thought of that just brought tears to Donghae’s eyes and made his heart clench. The last few days had been really hard not being able to call Eunhyuk and hear his sweet voice that always made Donghae smile. But he knew that this was his punishment and Heechul wasn’t likely going to let up on it. So Donghae was just going to have to make the best of this weekend with Eunhyuk.
Currently he was in his new bedroom, downstairs next to Mir’s and across from Sungmin’s. Apparently they used to live here when Mir was a child so there wasn’t much to move, it was mostly unpacking. It was late in the evening and the sun was long gone, but he couldn’t tell since there were no windows in his room. It was going to be strange having his own room; he was so used to falling asleep with Mir and Kibum just a few feet away from him. But it was nice, because now he could have some privacy when it came to talking to Eunhyuk on the phone, even though he’d have to wait a month for that but still. He did like the spacious room, it was nice and he had a big bed and it was just for him.
There was a knock on his bedroom door and Heechul came in and walked over to Donghae to sit next to him on the bed. Donghae looked away and crossed his arms, still feeling pretty miffed at Heechul for grounding him.
“You know I’m not mad at you, right? I’m just disappointed,” Heechul said after a few minutes of silence. Donghae just shrugged and fiddled with the edge of his blanket.
“I know,” He replied.
“I know you were angry with Kibum, but the way you acted and what you said was completely unacceptable,” Heechul reminded him.
“I know,” Donghae repeated.
