How to stick to your new year's resolution fitness goals
How to get a kpop idol bodyAyo guys! So new year's here and if you made a new year's fitness resolution you're probably having a hard time sticking to your promises already. Whether it be going on a diet or sticking to a new exercise regimen, trying to get your dream body can get difficult and sometimes you just want to quit. So for this chapter I'm going to tell you 5 tips to make your resolution a little easier!
1. Baby steps: you're not going to be able to run 30 mins straight, lift 25 lbs or do 40 push ups on the first day and that's OK. Everybody starts out somewhere, remember to be realistic with yourself otherwise you're never gonna get to your goal.
2. Find what you like: The best peice of advice I ever got for losing weight is "Don't follow what a celebrity does." Of course that probably goes against the entire idea of most of my chapters but it holds a lot of truth to it. There are people who like yoga and for them it works but there are also people who hate yoga and like good old-fashion running instead, if you're someone who hates yoga but does it anyways because someone else says it worked for them you're gonna get bored and discouraged very quickly and probably stop following your exercise routine in about a week. If you do something you like you'll be more encouraged to exercise and it'll be easier for you to lose weight.
3. Focus on your appearance, not the scale: The scale is the biggest liar when it comes to results; you could've gone from pot belly to 6 pack abs but the scale would only say you lost 5 lbs, why? Because the scale takes in EVERYTHING especially muscle, muscle does weigh more than fat so if you were to build muscle and lose fat your scale might not not show it. So instead of focusing on that number focus on your physical appearance through before and after photos, this way you're more encouraged when you actually see the results and you'll know what you want to work on; something the scale won't tell.
4. Don't give up so easily: "I ate a peice of chocolate so for the rest of the day I'm just going to eat all the junk food." Sounds familiar? It happens to all of us, but we don't need to give up so easily; just because you cracked your phone doesn't mean you take a hammer and smash it into bits, so it's best when it comes to these situations you forgive and forget, if this becomes a habit you'll quickly give up on your resolution.
5. Fitspiration: Fitspiration is basically a reminder of why you've choose to start working out/ going on a diet and is probably the most effective way of putting you back on track for your goals!
