Chapter 37

The Neighbours

“You betrayed me?! Both of you are going to betray me like this?!”

“Listen, we’re not going to be murderers because of your greediness. Why do you want to take over your father’s business so badly for?”

“That old man robbed my mom’s wealth away from me!”

“Your mother’s wealth? GD, he married your mother because of you. Your mother was too poor to put you through school but it was your step father who put you through university. Have you forgotten?”

“Shut up!”

“Fine, I don’t care what you’re going to do next but me and Nichkun are not going to get involved in this anymore!”

Kwon Ji Young aka GD was infuriated. He just couldn’t believe that his business partners turned their backs against him. He was pissed off when his step father stripped him off his CEO role in the company. Well, he knew he made a big mistake but he was expecting his step father to pull him out of the danger zone but he didn’t.

Things got worse when he found out that his step brother has put his younger brother as the heir to his multi-billion company when it was GD who put the company’s name into the market. It was his hard work that the company got recognition globally.

He began drinking profusely; he took one bottle after another. He hates his step father. He hates him because his step father has never liked him. Well it was true that the old man gave him everything but all GD ever wanted to get recognition for his hard work.

But instead, his step father chose his own flesh and blood instead – Kwon Yul. GD was good with Yul when they were younger. Yul looked up to his brother for everything. GD taught him a lot of things but as they grew older; GD got greedier over power and riches in the world while Yul settled for the simplest things in life.

Since their goals didn’t clash, the two brothers remained close until recently. Yul issued a challenge to him when he found out that GD was going to sue his father. GD saw a different Yul altogether.

He was half proud and half infuriated that Yul has changed. He was often worried about Yul because of his gentle character but Yul has regained confidence after meeting Tiffany lately; GD thought he was cocky.

“I’m sorry, Yul. I cannot let this end like this. I have to win back what was mine in the first place.”

GD decided to act on his own.

-

Seohyun was with Krystal when her mother called. She answered immediately.

“Omma!”

“Seohyun ah, are you free today?”

“Hm? Why? Do you need me?”

“Can you buy for me something? Your father’s sick and I’m worried about him. Can you buy some medicine for him?”

“What’s wrong with Daddy?”

“He’s coughing badly but he refuses to see the doctor. I cannot leave him at home alone. So can you help me?”

“Okay, I’ll buy now. And I’m bringing my friend along.”

“Ah, that’s great. I’ll cook lunch for you and your friend.”

“Thanks Omma!”

Krystal was watching Seohyun as the older girl smiled while talking to her mother. Krystal suddenly misses her mother. Seohyun hung up and turned. She saw Krystal’s sad eyes.

“What’s wrong?”

“Oh, nothing.”

“No, something’s not right. Your eyes are watery.”

“Nah, listening you talking with your mommy makes me miss my mom.”

“Ah, silly girl. You can always call her.”

“But we’re in different time zones. I don’t want to wake her up when she’s sleeping.”

“Don’t be silly. Your mother will feel even happier even if you disturb her with a call in the early morning. Mothers love their children so much that they don’t really care if it’s inconvenient for them.”

Krystal smiled widely. Seohyun always has a way to cheer her up. She hugged Seohyun tightly; the other girl was taken aback. But she nevertheless returned Krystal’s hug with a tight squeeze.

“Silly girl.”

“I’m not!”

Krystal pouted.

“Okay, okay. You’re not but are you hungry?”

“I’m always hungry!”

“You’ll grow fat if you cannot stop eating.”

“Why? You don’t like me when I’m fat?”

“Huh?”

Krystal bit her lower lip. What kind of question was that? She was about to correct herself when Seohyun smiled.

“I’ll always be here for you; regardless of any kind of situations.”

“Unnie..”

“Don’t be silly. Now, do you have time now?”

“Hmm? Why?”

“I need to get my dad something. He’s sick. I know we’re supposed to have lunch together but is it okay if you have lunch at my place?”

“Huh?”

“My mom’s cooking for us.”

Krystal’s heart pounded like crazy. She was going to meet her possible future mother in law.

-

“Omma! Appa!”

Krystal was shocked to see Seohyun’s aegyo towards her parents. It was normally Krystal unleashed her aegyo on her. Her Seohyun unnie was so cute.

“This is Krystal. She’s my junior in university.”

“Hi Krystal.”

“Hi Auntie, Uncle.”

Krystal had a shy smile on her face. Seohyun pulled her to her side and got her comfortable beside her. Krystal was more than happy to be with Seohyun.

“Appa, Omma said you’re sick. Why didn’t you see a doctor?”

Seohyun was frowning away and her father let out a soft laugh. He took the medicine from Seohyun’s hands and put it on the table.

“Your mother is exaggerating. It’s just normal cough.”

“Well, if you’re sick you have to see doctor. Oppa will worry if you don’t take good care of yourself.”

“Did you tell him?”

“No, I wanted to see you first. If it’s bad, I’ll call him immediately!”

Mr Kwon laughed as he gave a soft pinch on her nose.

“Are you his informant?”

“Of course, I am! He asked me to look out for you. You know how much he cares for you.”

“Well, I’m just so thankful and grateful to have perfect children.”

Seohyun smiled and Krystal was missing her parents. The old couple decided to head to the kitchen; giving some personal time for the two girls.

“Hyunnie, why don’t you bring Krystal to your room? I’ll call you when lunch’s ready.”

Mrs Kwon was smiling at them and Seohyun agreed. She stretched out her hand and grabbed Krystal’s hand. The younger girl’s heart skipped a beat.

“Let’s go to my room!”

Krystal didn’t get to reply anyway; Seohyun pulled her along. Krystal’s face was turning redder by the second as they were nearing Seohyun’s room. Her heart was going to explode but Seohyun was clueless.

“This is my room.”

Krystal wanted to faint. It was too pink.

“Wow, it’s pink.”

“Yes, it has always been.”

“You like pink?”

“I don’t have much preference for pink but my father wanted it to be like this. My room’s in pink and my brother’s room in blue.”

“You have an older brother?”

“Yes, he doesn’t stay here anymore. He’s staying with his friends.”

“How many brothers do you have?”

“I have two step brothers. I hardly see the eldest brother. He’s not close with us. I’m not related to him anyway. He’s the son from my father’s first wife.”

“Oh, so your second brother is his half brother?”

“Yes, and I’m second brother’s half sister.”

“Wow, that’s complicated.”

Seohyun shrugged.

“My second brother is closer to me. He has always been protective of me. J-Hope reminds me of him sometimes.”

“My brother? He’s too protective.”

“Isn’t that great to have an older brother who cares?”

“I guess so.”

Seohyun sat on the bed; pulling Krystal along. But the younger girl sat at the edge of the bed instead. Seohyun was facing her. They were staring at each other; their eyes were expressive and Seohyun suddenly came closer.  Krystal was stunned when their faces were just inches away. Seohyun gently swept Krystal’s forehead with the back of her hand. Krystal was paralyzed.

“There’s something on your forehead.”

“Oh.”

“Why is your face so red?”

“No, I’m just hot.”

“Huh? The air con is not cold enough?”

“Let me use your bathroom.”

“Oh, it’s at the end of the hallway on the right.”

“Okay, thanks!”

Krystal rushed out before her nose bleeds or something .She ran down the hall and was about to enter the bathroom when she saw a familiar face on the family photo just above the television.

“YUL OPPA?!”

Krystal was stunned. Seohyun’s step brother was Yul.

-

The sun shone brightly on Taeyeon’s face. She realized it was already morning and she slowly sat up on the bed; stoned and everything. She looked around her room and realized Sunmi wasn’t around. She then looked at the clock. It was already the next morning.

“Oh my god! How long did I sleep?!”

Taeyeon slept for at least 12 hours. Her stomach was growling away. She was damn hungry.

“Sheesh, I’m hungry.”

She was still in her sleepy mode when suddenly the bathroom door was opened. Taeyeon looked up and was stunned to find a half- Soo Young walking out from it. Soo Young stopped dead on his tracks when he saw Taeyeon staring at him.

“Taeyeon..”

Taeyeon couldn’t bother to ask why he was here and what he was doing. She just jumped on him from the bed and Soo Young caught hold of her. He was taken aback when Taeyeon wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in his chest.

“You’re safe. I was so worried.”

Soo Young’s expression softened. He held her tighter.

“I told you I’ll be fine. I’ll be back for you.”

“You have no idea how terrified I was when Dr Henney drove away. I just stared in disbelief; refused to accept that you would sacrifice yourself for me.”

Soo Young gently caressed the back of Taeyeon’s hair as she sobbed into his chest.

“You mean a lot to me, Taeyeon. I cannot let any kind of harm falls on you.”

“You mean a lot to me too. What if I lose you? What am I supposed to do if they kill you?”

“But they didn’t. I told myself that I couldn’t die in vain. I have yet to tell you something.”

Taeyeon suddenly realized what she was doing.  She finally realized that she was holding to the half- Soo Young. Her face turned red immediately. Soo Young glanced down; he saw Taeyeon’s reddening cheeks.

“Why are you blushing now?”

“I’m not.”

“You are.”

“I can get down now.”

“No, who said you can get down from me?”

Taeyeon pulled herself away and looked at him. Soo Young was grinning away before his eyes caught sight of Taeyeon’s lips. He wanted to kiss her so badly but he didn’t want to scare her yet. He met her eyes; they were glistening. Soo Young knew it was now or never.

“I’ll never let you go ever again.”

Soo Young confessed. His voice was soft and gentle. And Taeyeon’s heart was beating rapidly.

“I’m not going to let you get away from me; not when I know I need you in my life.”

“What are you talking about?”

Soo Young took a deep breath.

“Kim Taeyeon, I’m in love with you. And I want you to return back to me.”

Taeyeon smiled as she nodded her head.

“I’ve been waiting to hear those three words from you, Choi Soo Young.”

Soo Young put her down but his arms were around her waist protectively. Taeyeon had her arms around his neck. Soo Young leaned his forehead against hers.

“Listen carefully.”

Taeyeon nodded.

“Kim Taeyeon, I’m so ing in love with you right now.”

He kissed her immediately.

-

“Okay. Are you both together now?”

Sunmi returned to the hotel at lunch time. Soo Young was with Taeyeon in the room; they were about to order room service when Sunmi appeared at the front door.

“Yes, Kim Taeyeon is Choi Soo Young’s girlfriend now!”

Taeyeon smacked his thighs playfully; obviously shy about her new status. But Soo Young was too excited because he could hold Taeyeon in his arms.

“What the hell. What did I tell you? Stop being cheesy.”

“What’s wrong with being cheesy?”

“Choi, I can kick you out of the room you know?”

Soo Young pouted his lips and hid behind Taeyeon. He was using his new girlfriend as his shield.

“Baby, someone wants to kick your boyfriend out of the room.”

Soo Young was being whiny. Sunmi rolled her eyes.

“Kim Taeyeon, you better not side with your boyfriend.”

Taeyeon could only pull off a laugh when she pulled her boyfriend from his safe haven. She cupped her hands on his cheeks and gave him a kiss.

“Sunmi is a tough woman. She hates whiny guys. Her boyfriend gets beaten up if he uses too much aegyo on her.”

“But she’s not my girlfriend.”

“Yes, but she hates such guys in general. So if you want to stay with me in the next few days, you have to stop being whiny.”

“Fine, I’ll be a man for the next few days.”

Sunmi was appalled.

“And the next many days to come, you’re going to be a whiner?!”

“Taeyeon brings that side out of me! I cannot help it!”

“Kim Taeyeon, why did you get such man as your boyfriend?”

“YA! I’m a perfect man!”

“You’re a whiner!”

“What’s your problem!?”

Soo Young and Sunmi were already having a go with each other; leaving Taeyeon in exasperation. She was going crazy with her assistant and boyfriend arguing with one another. But it didn’t last long.

“I helped you just now and now you’re going to go with me!”

“I’m so grateful for that but now you’re just against me!”

“I shouldn’t have helped you to lie to her when I knew you were already hiding somewhere in the hotel!”

“Are you regretting me now?!”

Taeyeon looked on in confusion then suddenly realized that these two were in cahoots to trick her. She folded her arms and stared at them.

“AHEM!”

The two turned.

“So the two of you were lying to me?”

They stared at each other and swallowed hard. Their secret was exposed.

“Wait, he forced me to!”

“What?! This was your idea!”

“I told you to shake her a little but you went out to do more!”

Taeyeon pulled Soo Young’s ear and the poor guy was wincing in pain.

“Ow~ Ow~”

“So you were at the hotel all this while?!”

“No, I was nearby.”

“Why did you trick me for?”

“I saw you with Dr Henney when I got back to the hotel this morning. And you left with him.”

“I went out to look for you!”

“Yes, but I was jealous. I thought you chose to be with him eventually.”

“What?”

“That guy is wooing you. Can’t you see it?”

Taeyeon turned to look at Sunmi who was hiding at the corner. She knew Sunmi must have told him something.

“So you decided to pull a trick on me?”

“No, I just wanted to see if you still love me.”

Taeyeon looked on. Soo Young was avoiding her eyes. Her lips curled into a smile after realizing that Soo Young was jealous of Dr Henney. It made her feel good because Soo Young had never showed such reaction before. Sunmi decided to leave the room.

“I’ll go and find things to do.”

“Where are you going?”

“I think I should leave you two alone. You two have plenty to talk about. Don’t worry about me and Taeyeon, I’m sorry for tricking you. But I think you know the reason why Soo Young wanted to do this.”

“I understand. I’ll see you later.”

“Okay! Soo Young, hwaiting!”

She stuck her tongue out at Soo Young who was glaring at her for abandoning him at times like this. Once Sunmi left the room, Taeyeon approached Soo Young cautiously.

“When did you realize you love me?”

She suddenly asked. But Soo Young refused to look at her. Taeyeon held out her arms and wrapped them around Soo Young. She then pulled his chin forward so that she could look into his big eyes.

“I remember you telling Yul that you couldn’t love me the way I wanted you to.”

“I’ve always been in love with you. I realized it when I saw a man in your life.”

“A man?”

“Woo Young-shi.”

“Woo Young?!”

Soo Young nodded. He pulled her away and sat on the edge of the bed. He sat Taeyeon on his lap as he took advantage of her chest; resting her head on her s.

“I thought he’s your boyfriend. I saw you with him that night when you went out with him. The two of you were so intimate and I thought he was going to propose to you.”

“What?”

“I saw him taking out a gift box. Your face lighted up when you saw it. I thought he was proposing to you so I left without realizing that the gift box contained a watch that you bought for me.”

“You sure love to jump into conclusions, don’t you?”

Taeyeon narrowed her eyes at him. He pouted his lips.

“I’m a weak man, Taeyeon. I was hurt before.”

Taeyeon’s facial expression softened upon hearing that.

“She hurt me so badly. I couldn’t get over her. I gave her everything but she took it away and threw it like as though I didn’t matter at all.”

Taeyeon looked on while listening attentively.

“I know you’re not her but the fear is already there. And you know me; I’m such a playful guy. I have been dating just for the fun of it. I wasn’t serious and I was just in for a fling. But you’re a nice lady, Taeyeon. I couldn’t hurt you and that’s why I didn’t have the courage to confess to you.”

Soo Young looked up; Taeyeon was already leaning closer to capture his lips. Their kiss lingered for a moment before smiling at her new boyfriend.

“I love you, Choi Soo Young. I’m not afraid of getting hurt because I believe that you won’t hurt me at all.”

“Why do you have so much trust in me, Taeyeon?”

“Despite your playful nature, you have a sensitive heart. You care a lot for the people around you. You hardly show it out but your true intent of your heart is often expressed in those little things that you’ve done for the people around you which includes your family.”

Soo Young was surprised. How did Taeyeon know?

“I promise you. I’ll love you the best way that I could, Soo Young.  I cannot promise that we’ll not fight along the way but no matter how bad our fights could get, I’ll still find my way back into your arms.”

“Kim Taeyeon, you do know you’re in trouble now?”

“Hmm?”

“I’m not letting you go ever again.”

Taeyeon grinned widely.

“I’ll stay with you no matter what.”

And Soo Young sealed their newfound love with a kiss.

-

“Sicaaa~”

Jessica ignored Yoong. She sat in the living room; watching television. Yoong was cooking her favourite food to appease her.

“I’ve made your favourite food.”

Jessica kept quiet.  Yoong grinned. He knew his girlfriend was angry with him. He and J-Hope were teasing her endlessly earlier on. But Yoong was undaunted. He walked over to her and stood in front of her; blocking her view.

She glared at him.

“Move away.”

“No, I’m staying put.”

“I’m not in the mood, Yoong.”

“Why? Are you still mad at me?”

“You can find my brother if you need some .”

Yoong grimaced. He went on his knees; aligning his face to meet hers. Jessica tried to push him away but Yoong grabbed her arms. Jessica stared menacingly at him.

“We were just teasing you.”

“You ganged up with my baby brother to tease me.”

“Can you don’t call him baby brother? He’s like what? 21?”

“Why? Are you jealous of my baby brother now?”

Yoong’s lips pouted slightly and then he gave up. He got up on his feet and went into the kitchen instead. Jessica watched as he disappeared behind her. She bit her lower lip. The whole house suddenly became silent as Yoong continued with his cooking. He hardly makes any noise and Jessica was slowly getting curious. She was nervous with the silence.

She finally decided to find him but he wasn’t in the kitchen anymore. When did he leave? She checked the kitchen once more and even the bathrooms. Yoong was nowhere in sight. She then made her way to her bedroom. She saw him lying down on her bed.

“There he is.”

Jessica whispered softly. She was missing him. Although she was trying to play hard to get earlier on, Jessica could never stand being apart with him. And she could never stay mad at him for the longest time. She made her way to the bed and sat beside him.

She sat facing him; the boyfriend was sleeping soundly. She took a good look at his face and then she sighed softly.  He looked tired; worn out probably because of the training. His jaw line was getting more prominent and Jessica realized that her baby lost some weight.

“Is the training too tough for you, Yoongie?”

She spoke softly as she caressed the boyfriend’s cheeks.  Yoong was sleeping like a baby. It was obvious to anyone that he was tired; he even snored softly.

Jessica was concerned about him; she quietly laid herself down beside him; putting her hands out before pulling her boyfriend closer to her. She hugged him; Yoong shifted himself. His eyes were slightly open.

“Hm?”

“Shh, go back to sleep.”

Jessica pulled his face to her chest. The boy took advantage of it and nuzzled into her chest. He hugged her tighter; Jessica smiled as she planted a soft kiss on his forehead.

“You must be tired.”

Yoong nodded slightly.

“Get some sleep. I will wake you up when it’s time for dinner.”

“Okay.”

She watched as her boyfriend soon drifted off to a deep slumber. She studied his face carefully; she smiled when she saw his kissable lips. She could never get enough of his kisses. She kissed his lips. Then she traced her finger from his forehead down to his cheeks to his chin.

Jessica still couldn’t believe this gorgeous boy has become hers. She has always been grateful for having him in her life; she has been happy ever since they got together. Suddenly Jessica felt something vibrated in her thighs. She slipped her hand into his pockets and pulled out his mobile phone.

His coach was calling.

Jessica stared at the phone for quite some time. She suddenly recalled Mrs Im telling her that the coach is her husband’s murderer. He finally stopped calling. He sent a message instead.

“Yoong, remember tonight. We’re having training at 12midnight.”

Jessica frowned. What the hell was this coach thinking of? Was he planning to push her boyfriend to the brink of exhaustion? No wonder the boy slept so soundly.

“Your poor thing. You must be really tired lately.”

She kissed Yoong again before hugging him tighter.

-

“Sica? Sica?”

Jessica felt someone shook her body gently. She opened her eyes and saw her boyfriend was dressed in his training attire. She frowned.

“Where are you going?”

“I have to go for training.”

Jessica turned to look at the time – 11.45pm.

“It’s late. What kind of training are you going for?”

“My coach is planning to have us train at this island. It’s more of a physical training.”

“What island? How do you go there in the middle of the night?”

“He has a boat.”

“What? Yoong, aren’t you tired?”

Yoong sighed before sitting next to her. He nodded his head.

“Then don’t go.”

“I have to. My coach is crazy lately. If I don’t turn up, he won’t be happy.”

“But you’re tired. And you’re going to an island which is dangerous. How do I find you?”

“You can call me.”

“No, Yoong. I don’t feel safe.”

Jessica rose on her knees as she tried to dissuade Yoong from leaving. Yoong was restless.

“My competition is coming up, Sica. I have to prepare myself.”

“I know that but you’re getting thinner. You’re losing more weight than you had to. It hurts me to see you being so tired all the time. And we hardly meet that much anymore. I’m beginning to miss you.”

Jessica looked upset and Yoong hates to see her like that. He pulled her closer and hugged her tightly. Jessica kissed him on his lips.

“I miss you too, Jessica. Sometimes when the training gets really tough, I’ll look at your photos and our videos to cheer me up.”

“Can you just skip for tonight? Keep me company. The girls are not in town and I’m all alone.”

Yoong looked on; caught in between training and his girlfriend. But Jessica was adamant not to let him leave her tonight. She gave him a pitiful look and Yoong was hooked. He couldn’t do anything against his princess.

“Alright, I will stay with you tonight. I’ll just let him know I’m not feeling well.”

“Okay, call him now. And I’m hungry too.”

“Go heat up the soup I made earlier on. I’ll call him and then we can eat together.”

Yoong leaned forward to kiss her and grabbed his phone from his pocket. Jessica smiled triumphantly. She knew Yoong would listen to her. She went to the kitchen and heated up the soup her boyfriend had made for her. She was busy stirring it when she heard Yoong arguing with his coach.

“I told you. I cannot go tonight. I’m feeling unwell.”

Jessica hid behind the pillar. She was eavesdropping.

“We can go other time. My girlfriend’s alone anyway. I’m going to keep her company.”

Jessica smiled.

“Coach, you’re being unreasonable. I have my personal time and privacy. I’m unwell. Even if I go for the training, I won’t give my 100% to the training.”

Jessica started frowning. His coach was sure demanding. She took a peek; Yoong was scratching his forehead; her wrinkled forehead was an indication that he was under stress.

“Alright, I’ll come early in the morning for the training. But I’m not coming tonight.”

Yoong hung up the call and threw the phone onto the sofa. He was furious; Jessica wondered what his coach said to him. She waited for a few minutes before approaching him.

“Baby?”

Yoong turned; his frown quickly turned into a smile. He was hiding his frustrations behind his smile.

“Yeah? “

“Are you alright?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. Is the soup ready?”

“It’s boiling now.”

“Okay, let’s eat then.”

“Are you okay? You look stressed out.”

“Nah, I’m fine. Let’s go. I’m famished.”

He took Jessica’s hands and pulled her into the kitchen. Jessica looked on; worried. But she was not going to stress him further. The only thing she could do was to make him happy tonight.

“Yoongie, wait for me in the room.”

“Huh?”

“Since you have a night off, I’ll make serve you tonight.”

Yoong’s smile turned into a cheeky grin.

“Wow, what are you planning to do?”

Jessica smirked.

“That will be my secret.”

-

“Mommy, can I bring my bed?”

“No, we have a bed at my place.”

“But my bed is in the shape of a racing car. Is your bed the same?”

Tiffany was going bonkers with her son’s requests. Tiffany told him that she was going to bring him back to Korea; the little boy was extremely excited.  But he started being a little annoying; much to Tiffany’s chagrin.

“Must your bed in the shape of a racing car?”

“I love to pretend that I’m a speed racer!”

“My bed is a king size bed. It’s comfortable enough.”

“I’m sleeping with Mommy?”

“Yes?”

“Why?!”

“What do you mean by why?!”

“Your room is in pink?”

“Yes?”

“It’s not a boy’s room! Mason’s a boy!”

“Does it really matter?”

“It does!”

Yul looked on; completely amused with Mason’s intelligence. He was a typical boy who wanted to make things comfortable for his own liking. Tiffany was slowly pulling her hair out. Yul went to her rescue.

“Mason, we cannot bring your bed over.”

“Why not?”

“The plane is unable to take the weight.”

“Oh, then where am I going to sleep when I’m in Korea?”

“I tell you what. We’ll go over and Mason sleeps with Mommy for a couple of days. Then once Mason has settle in, we’ll shop for your bed and the other stuff that you wanted to bring over. We can get them; brand new.”

Mason’s eyes were shining.

“Don’t you want them new?”

He nodded his head profusely.

“Then can we leave your things behind?”

“Okay!”

“All you need to do is to pack your clothes and maybe some toys.”

“I want to bring your toys back. I can leave my old toys behind! You’re going to buy new ones, right?”

Yul laughed but nodded. Mason was ecstatic.

“Yes! Yul Daddy’s the best!”

Mason ran out of Tiffany’s room to grab more of his clothes from his room. Tiffany looked on; shaking her head in dismay. Mason was no longer that innocent anymore.

“He’s a five year old boy. I’m sure you can understand how demanding they can get at this age.”

“I prefer him when he’s a baby – those times when he couldn’t rebel against me.”

Yul chuckled softly before helping Tiffany to pack. Mason continued to throw his clothes onto the floor before running in to grab some more. Tiffany giggled softly as she watched her 5 year old angel struggled with his clothes. He has small hands.

Mason was frowning away. He was getting tired moving his clothes to and fro from his room to his mother’s room.  Suddenly Mason remembered the trolley his grandfather used to push when they do grocery shopping. Yul looked as the little guy disappeared into his grandfather’s room.

“What’s he doing?”

Tiffany shrugged. Just then, Mason came out with a trolley. A big smile was planted on his face.

“Why did you get that?”

“I’m tired of moving around. My hands are too small to grab many clothes.”

“And then you’re using the trolley for?”

“I can dump my clothes into the trolley and push it to Mommy’s room!”

Yul burst out laughing. Tiffany’s eyes glistened. Her son was the cutest and smartest little boy she has ever known of.

“Why didn’t you ask for Daddy’s help?”

Mason looked on; his eyes were slowly changing. Mason pouted his lips.

“Why didn’t I think of that?”

“You’re such a silly boy, Mason. Never mind, I can still help you. We’ll try to dump as many as we can onto the trolley. Daddy will carry the rest.”

“Okay, let’s go, Daddy!”

Yul followed Mason from behind and disappeared into the boy’s room. Tiffany was looking on with a big smile on her face. Leo was watching them from just now. He went to look for Tiffany.

“Hey.”

“Hey, Leo oppa.”

“Are you done with the packing?”

“I’m left with Mason’s clothes.”

“Okay.”

Leo then leaned forward and pulled Tiffany into his embrace. Tiffany took advantage of her older brother’s warmth and hugged him tightly in return.

“I’m so glad you’ve found the right prince.”

Tiffany looked at him.

“Yul’s a perfect gentleman. Not only he’s attentive to you but he’s giving his all to Mason. He’s not selfish and Daddy has a good impression of him.”

“Leo, I’ve never imagine that I could find a man like him.”

“I prayed so hard that you’ll find happiness one day. God is answering my prayers. Yul loves you more than he loves himself.”

“Leo...”

“Just promise me you will be happy with Yul and Mason, Tiffany.”

“I promise, Leo. I’ll bring Mason to visit you guys every year.”

Leo nodded and Tiffany was tearing up. She finally realized how much her family loves her. She has not been doing her best as part of the family. She felt remorseful.

“I’m sorry. I should have spent more time with you and the family.”

“Don’t be silly. I can understand why you couldn’t bring Mason with you before.”

“I have missed out a lot in Mason’s life.”

“Then build a new life with Mason together with Yul. Trust in him; Yul will make you happy.”

Tiffany nodded. Yul returned with Mason. He was carrying Mason on his back as he pulled the trolley behind him. Mason was laughing happily when Yul pretended to drop him. He held on tightly.

“DADDY!”

“I’ll drop you here, okay?”

“NOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

“You’re really heavy! My hands cannot hold you any longer.”

“DADDDDDDDDY~!”

Tiffany smiled as she watched her boyfriend lifted her son up in the air; leaving the boy shrieking in happiness. She was going to start a new life.

All she need is – Yul and Mason.

“Krystal, are you done?”

“Yeah. Unnie, can I ask you something?”

“Sure.”

“Follow me.”

Krystal pulled Seohyun to the television outside of Seohyun’s room. She pointed to the family portrait above the television.

“These are your brothers?”

“Yes, this is Jiyoung oppa.”

“He’s your half-brother?”

“No, he’s the oldest brother.”

Seohyun pointed to Yul.

“He’s my half brother, Yul.”

“Wow.”

“Why? You know him?”

Krystal nodded.

“How did you know him?”

“He stays next to my sister.”

“Huh?”

“He’s staying with Yoong oppa and Soo Young oppa, right?”

“Yeah, he’s staying with them.”

“Yes, their apartment is next to my sister’s apartment.”

“Oh?”

“He’s dating Tiffany unnie, right?”

“Yes, how did you know?”

“Tiffany unnie is my sister’s best friend. Yoong oppa is dating my sister, Jessica.”

“Ah~ so in the way, we’re related!”

Krystal was dumfounded when Seohyun suddenly leapt forward and pulled her into a tight embrace. Her face was close to Seohyun’s. Her heart was beating so rapidly.

“I don’t know why I’m so happy but I know you’re somehow connected to me in some ways. I could feel you’re special, Krystal.”

Seohyun’s sudden confession sent Krystal drifting in the skies.

Dude no offense but can you tag your genderbender. It kind makes the exclude tag from searches option useless.

Chapter 54: *being

Some errors we're in the story, like writing "her" as "him", or "mother" as "brother". Some did confused me when I was lacking sleep, but it's okay after I figured it out haha.

Chapter 54: I finished reading within two days! Having all the emotions with me through the ups and downs for the whole story. I read this when it was marked completed, so the cliff hanger didn't work on me.. Although I prefer them as neighbours before all of them got their partners, their love life was awesome too.

SooTae at Taeyeon's clinic was really cute. Their conversations are always so funny. I remember when Soo Young was injured, he gave Taeyeon so much pouting and the "):" was so cute hahahaha. Oh and when Soo Young received the CD Taeyeon passed to him before leaving for UK, that song was totally a... I can't describe it. But I could literally feel Taeyeon's sincerity. But I found it brave that Taeyeon did so much for him.
YoonSic was quite common, sweet and child-like boyfriend, full of aegyo. As expected, Jessica would be the jealous one. Jessica bring a psychiatrist was heartwarming, she attends to the family with so much love. However, I wondered how her sessions are held. There wasn't much scenes about her job, except for Mrs Im. Maybe it's a bit out of the story, but I'm curious :P
YulTi was full of drama. So many things happening in one go! Yul was the perfect the perfect guy. I still remember one scene that he bought flowers for Tiff, I was wondering what her reaction would be, bad sadly, it wasn't written. I was listening to the songs Yul was playing while reading, it was so sweet.

Overall, the story was great. Ending up as couples with neighbours was slightly unrealistic but since its fiction, I still like it. Soo Young and Jessica interaction was fun to watch too. I really wanted to know the love story of TaengSic when they were younger (expected from me, TaengSic fan).

Thank you for writing this story, I kept me accompanied but I lost some sleep due to it. Haha good job author!
