Track 73. HELLO by SHINee | ♩

“Girl, could you believe that just happened?!” Geunseok squealed. “I could literally smell Taemin’s sweat from the stage!”

I have a gay childhood best friend in this universe—what a breath of fresh air.

“You dirty little .” Rara snickered, lightly hitting Geunseok on the temple with the Shating Star, the SHINee lightstick. Okay, I’m a Shawol. Not a VIP. Good choice of fandom, nonetheless. 

“What?” Geuseok rolled his eyes at her. “Like your basement did not flood at the sight of Minho!”

“Excuse me? I do not lust over my bias like you do!” 

Before Geunseok could come up with a witty reply, Rara’s phone rang. She fished it out of her pocket, and it turned out to be her mother.

“Hello, Omma?” 

The two Shawol best friends started deserting the concert area along with the rest of the fans who were leaving. As they began to stray further from the stage and closer to the exit, many people were giving them, or more specifically, Rara a second glance.

Why are people looking like me like that? Is there really no acquired skill in speeding up the learning of this version of me’s memories?

While people started to load up at the parking lot, Rara and Geunseok went to a much more remote location from the crowd. There, the Park’s trusty driver was standing behind a van. 

“Eunwoo ahjussi!” 

“Hello, miss. Good evening.” Eunwoo greeted. “Nice to see you again, monsieur Geunseok.”

“I would really prefer mademoiselle, ahjussi.” Geunsek remarked, batting his eyelashes at the driver. 

Rara shook her head while Eunwoo laughed at Geunseok’s boldness that never chose an audience. “Very well, mademoiselle.” He said with a grin, making Geunseok gasp in adoration. “Shall we go?” 

“Yes, please, I’m beat!” 

I probably still come from a rich family, but I hope not a mafia. Been there, done that.

“Miss Rara, your mother made a box of homemade cupcakes for your older brother as per his request. Before I take you and Geunseok back to your respective condos, we would have to drop this box of cupcakes at your brother’s dormitory.” 

Why am I in a condo but Chanyeol’s in a dormitory? Favoritism? Lol. “Yeah, she mentioned that on the phone earlier. I’m okay with stopping by at Chanyeol’s dorm.” 

“Oooh, better leave the lightstick in the car, sis. Your brother’s on the brink of disowning you.” 

…

…

Okay. Now I get it.

“You went to SHINee’s concert, didn’t you?” 

Rara hadn’t even set a foot inside EXO’s dormitory, and her older brother was already up in her face. She offered the box of cupcakes, unsure what to say. “Uh...the cupcakes you asked Omma to make are here…?” 

I’m the sister of another idol who also happens to belong to a popular group. That idol is Chanyeol, and he belongs to EXO. Still under the same label as the ones I stan in this world, the same as SHINee. 

“You really think you can get away with it this time?” 

Rara in a ton of air. “Yeah, I guess…?” She said in a tiny voice.

“Her whisper is the Lucifer.” Geunseok said in the same low volume. 

Chanyeol chuckled and shook his head at Geunseok. He sighed and took the box of cupcakes from her. “Come inside for a while, the both of you.” 

“But Yeol, we have—”

“I know we have that sibling photoshoot for DAZED tomorrow,” Chanyeol said in an even tone. So I’m a model. “But if you can watch a concert knowing you need to be up by what? 4 or 5 in the morning to get ready?” Geunseok snorted at Rara’s defeated expression. “Then you can spend a few minutes with your only sibling.” 

“Sure.” Rara said, feeling a twinge of guilt.
