December 24, Friday evening; after work.

I mean, duh, would he want to dress up as the Grandma?

Yes, Rara thought he wouldn’t want to dress up as Red Riding Hood’s grandmother, but when she told the Other Baekhyun that she had picked Red Riding Hood, she expected that he’d tell her how fitting it would be if he went as the Big Bad Wolf. But instead, he gave her an unanticipated answer.

‘Hm…’ He stared at the piece of paper. ‘I kinda wanna go as the Red Riding Hood.’ Then he looked up at her and said, ‘Like a genderbent Red Riding Hood.’

As per tradition, even though Baekhyun and Rara arrived at Elle’s together, they were in separate rooms when they got ready for the Christmas ball. Both of them had a few people over at the mansion, particularly make-up artists, to get them ready. 

‘You wanna go as a male Red Riding Hood?’ Not bad, Rara thought. ‘Okay. Why not?’

‘So are you gonna go as the female Big Bad Wolf?’

‘No. I’m gonna go as your grandmother.’ She said sarcastically. ‘Of course, I’m gonna go as the female Big Bad Wolf.’

‘You oughta wear something that screams ‘I live in the forest’.’

‘Now that you mention it, I think I might have to wear something a bit revealing because every Amazonian warrior I’ve seen in the movies never wears more than one layer of clothing.’

‘Take it all the way. Show your arms. Go backless.’

Rara looked at him like he was deranged. ‘So it’s easier to take it off me?’ She spat in a hostile tone. 

‘What’re you talking about?’ The Other Baekhyun blinked innocently before breaking into a mischievous grin. ‘An exposed back is easier to stab.’

The entire week before the ball, that line really got under Rara’s nerves. He didn’t even take it back. Stab me in the back, huh? So during her lunchtime, she’d quickly drop by at any boutiques to find the perfect dress to absolutely get on the Other Baekhyun’s nerves. Aside from that, she also went around looking for a fur shawl, to complete the wolf ensemble. 

She looked at herself in the mirror, she wore a light grey bodycon two-piece dress. It had a v-neckline, topped by dual spaghetti straps that cross the open back, above the flattering cropped bodice with princess seams. The bodycon skirt has a high waistline that fastens at the back via a hidden zipper. The rest of her make-up was light, except for the eyes, which were a bit heavy and dominant. She wore yellow contacts, to really capture the whole idea of being a wolf. As for her hair, the stylist just made it messy, because an animal who lives in the forest probably doesn’t have time to achieve that Rapunzel-perfect hair. She wore strappy gladiator heels, that had faux fur, to match her fur shawl. She even had her nails done to really commit to her character. She only wore one accessory, her necklace with her healing engagement ring. 

Her fur shawl was big enough to cover her back, and she planned not to take it off until they arrived at Elle’s. 

So it’s easier to stab you in the back.
