𝙸𝙸: A Coincidence
Where to now?Track 60. STATE OF GRACE by Taylor Swift | ♩
Patiently waiting, Rara was on her best behavior, sitting behind the counter, taking her time as she looked around the plants that surrounded her from top to bottom. So...I’m guarding a greenhouse. There’s a cash register. Did I just go from princess to plant saleswoman?
Rara removed her backpack from her shoulders and put them below the counter to prevent herself from slouching. Backpack...so I’m probably still in school. She felt something vibrate in her pocket, and it was her phone. There was a message from her mother, telling her that she’d be there very soon and to please look after the greenhouse and not leave for school until she came back.
While she typed her reply, she heard someone put something on the counter when she looked up, she saw an unfamiliar face.
Oh, it’s Baekhyun. Right away.
And this version of me is meeting him for the first time.
And he looks like the Other Baekhyun...he has platinum silver hair and olive green eyes. He looks as sharp but much more serious.
He looked at her as if he was surprised to see her—and she didn’t blame him. She hardly ever made an appearance in her mother’s greenhouse; she was probably more sheltered than the plants that her mother took care of.
“Is Mrs. Park available?” He asked, a little hesitant; it gave Rara the impression that he didn’t want to transact with her.
“No, not at the moment. I’m waiting for her to arrive.” Rara eyed the large plant that he had brought with him—it already had fruits. Pomegranates. “Would you like to leave a message or would you rather wait for her?”
“I’m actually kind of busy.” He said. “So if you could just tell her that I delivered this myself, that would be very convenient.”
“Sure thing.” When Rara smiled at him, he was unsure of what to do, and just flashed her a half-smile. Before he could depart, Rara said, “Wait, I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name.”
“It’s Baekhyun.”
For a second there I thought he might be a different person. “Okay. I’ll be sure to tell Mrs. Park about the plant.”
“Yes, thank you…?”
“It’s Rara.”
“Rara.” He repeated. “Yes, um, thank you. Anyway, I have to go now.”
“Okay. Take care.”
Her mother had arrived late, and because of such tardiness, Rara was late for her class as well.
“I’m so sorry, Rara! It’s just—interacting with mortals is so exhausting.” Ahreum said exasperatedly. Mortals...if mother’s immortal, I must be the same. Safe to assume that sooner or later, it’s about to get crazy up in here. “Now, off you go to your class. You have one of those...what was it called?”
“Laboratory se
