December 14, Tuesday.

“Can I lean on your shoulder?” 

Rara just looked at the Other Baekhyun, her expression screaming, ‘Ugh, come on!’. Then her eyes flew to the strands of his hair that seemed to be longer than it was these past few weeks. Any longer and it would probably look like a pixie cut.

“Sure, but when we land in Tokyo, get your hair trimmed.” 

He shrugged and proceeded to lean on her shoulder, but Rara stopped him. 

“I didn’t hear you answer.” She pressed.

“Okay.” He said quickly and let his head fall on her shoulder. 

Rara sighed and turned to her iPad, reading research journals. Can’t stop being your wife, and also can’t get a break from being a doctor. 

When they landed in Tokyo, it was already late in the evening. The salons and barbershops were most probably closed, so they headed straight to the hotel. Rara told him that he can get it done tomorrow, and just focus on preparing for the conference the next day. The Other Baekhyun had agreed but when he was rummaging around their room, he found an electric razor.

Rara just unfinished unpacking and when she sat on the bed, the Other Baekhyun flashed the electric razor on her face. “Look what I found!”

She stared at him like he was crazy and laughed audaciously. “What’s the point? I don’t know how to cut or style hair.” She said, and when he still offered the electric razor. “Are you deaf or something? I just told you I’m not capable of cutting hair.”

“Just look up a tutorial video on YouTube or whatever.”

“Are you crazy?” Rara squealed. “I don’t want you to look like a—a clown tomorrow! You’re meeting a group of respectable businessmen—not the circus!”

“That’s funny.” He crossed his arms and looked down at her. “People praise your hands for their ability to breathe life into art. Patients worship your surgical skills. And yet you claim that the same pair of hands are not suitable for doing haircuts.” He said in a calm tone. “Don’t you have scissors in the surgical table—”

“Well, yes, but rather than hair, I deal with body parts—”

“So doesn’t that make you more qualified since you are careful not to cut nerves, veins, or anything like that?” 

Unable to come up with an answer, Rara just glared at him and snatched the electric razor from his hands. “If I mess this up, don’t blame me.” She spat, as she opened a new tab on her iPad and looked up ‘haircut for dummies’ on Youtube.

They put newspapers on the dry bathroom floor so it’ll be easy to dispose of, and Rara wrapped a towel tightly around the Other Baekhyun’s upper body so he wouldn’t complain about the hair getting everywhere, making him itch all over.

“Undercut, right? Just like that?” Rara asked. The Other Baekhyun was holding her iPad; there was a photo of a guy with an undercut. “Then I’ll just trim a little bit on top.” 

“Okay.” He said, a little bit enthusiastic.
