Track 23. HOW I LOOK ON YOU by Ariana Grande | ♩ 

“He’s, um, he’s on his way.” Rara said. “Uh, don’t be—”

“Didn’t know we had company, Rara.”

“Baekhyun!” Luhan laughed light-heartedly at the sight of (the Other) Baekhyun, amused at the sight of him with different hair and eye color. “You look like someone inverted the colors on you.” He said with a charmed smile. “Which is something I’ve seen before...in people who are going through something. Do you have fresh wounds on your heart right now? Did Rara break your heart recently?” He asked in a joking manner.

The Other Baekhyun and Rara exchanged glances, then he grinned mischievously. “When is this one never not breaking my heart?” Rara rolled her eyes at him, making Luhan chuckle. The classic Baekhyun and Rara still in attendance, huh? He thought. 

The Other Baekhyun turned to Luhan. “What’re you doing here in Tokyo?”

“Oh, Haoran sent me here. I just arrived earlier today, along with Lay, to handle business for Aima Lamia. Had to meet some of the Japan-based vampires. We’re staying at a nearby hotel. At Hilton Tokyo, actually.” Luhan explained. Lay, Xiumin and Chen eventually became a part of Aima Lamia; they were the younger sector, the Ieuvenis. “Lay checked us in and crashed in his room and I decided to check out the street food and well, I ended up seeing Rara.” 

“Really? We’re staying at Hilton Tokyo, too.” Rara said, a bit surprised that they were staying at the same place as Luhan’s.

“Is that so?” Suddenly, his phone rang, buzzing in the pocket of his coat. He looked at it briefly and then looked at both of his companions. “Hey, Baekhyun, since you’re already here, I think I should leave Rara in your hands, now. Don’t wanna go third-wheeling with you two.” Luhan said, mustering up a polite smile. “I oughta go. Lay and I need to settle some things before we meet with some people.” 

“Sure. It was nice seeing you, Luhan.”

“Yeah, likewise.” Luhan said. “You guys take care.” He looked at Rara intently one more time, before nodding, and giving both of them a small wave, before heading for the opposite direction.

Rara blew out her cheeks. I’m just glad that’s over. Before she could ask the Other Baekhyun what his plans were, she ended up staring at him while he clamped his hands together, looking at Luhan’s back as it grew smaller, the further he was from them. 

“Please tell me you did not forget to put on gloves.” The Other Baekhyun blinked at her innocently, then smiled sheepishly. Sighing, Rara was about to remove her own gloves but she realized that she wasn’t wearing any; it makes sense because she was acclimatized to the winter air, because she was cold-blooded. “C’mon, let’s just buy gloves.” She suggested, as she started to walk. “I’m sure they sell it—”

“No, wait.” Rara turned around and looked at him. “Just hold my hand.”

“Dude.” Staring at him in a ludicrous manner, she let out an airy laugh. “My hands are permanently freezing. I’m a vampire, remember?”

“I don’t know why but you keep forgetting you’re the epitome of balance.” Rara stared at him in confusion. “You’re a vampire, but you also control fire; you’re both cold-blooded and searing hot.”

He offered his hand, grinning at her, like he knew she was going to hold his hand. And no matter how much she wanted to prove him wrong, she knew she was going to do it anyway. It was  always one of the two things; either they do this or they’re going to argue about it. The latter seems inconvenient and a waste of time, actually. Not only that, it only delays the first choice. 

Rara grabbed his hand furiously and asked, “Well, where do you wanna go?”

The Other Baekhyun just smiled at her and intertwined their fingers together. “Let’s get some ramen.”
