Half-a-Witch
Where to now?Author's Notice: Hello! I'm back! Posting this in case not everyone saw it.
After much contemplation, I decided that I'd change Kris' character.
His name is Lin Haoran. Not a bad boy but a bad genius, thus earning the nickname 'Lin-kun', which is his last name, and the 'kun' from raccoon; raccoon because those creatures are clever and cunning, just as Haoran is. I made the changes in the first story, hopefully I didn't miss anything hahaha t'was a ride to go through it. Having said that, instead of 'firetruck', he nicknamed Rara 'Park-kun', which is a wordplay of his own nickname, because he thought Rara was just like him, very intelligent and not to be messed with. She's her own raccoon. I also changed the name of his dragon into Chongwu, instead of Ace. The plot still remains the same. It's just like I added a new or maybe, revamped character ahaha.
Track 50. DITCH by Empara Mi | ♩
“You sure you wanna do this now?”
“As sure as the fact that you’re not going to stay in the car even if I’m on my knees, begging.”
The Other Baekhyun looked at her and shrugged innocently, as he unbuckled his seatbelt. “Okay, okay. No need to bare your fangs at me.”
Though D.O and Shinae wanted to come with them to serve as a backup, should anything happen to Rara and Baekhyun’s Miroir, they couldn’t leave the research institute just yet. It was just their luck that the party concerned came at the time that they had filed for overtime. The idea of having her best friend and another healthy being have her back was comforting but for now, she had to trust her grit and the Other Baekhyun’s strength, which was probably half of what he used to be capable of. It wasn’t much of a choice, but it was now or never.
There was only one hour left before Hyerin—the Other Hyerin rather—closed the bookshop and Rara felt as though it was the last time she’ll ever see it open again. As she entered the bookshop with the Other Baekhyun, she was immediately greeted by the sight of Chanyeol, just as they suspected. He had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, with a stack of books in his arms. He must be helping the Other Hyerin around, but Hyerin’s Miroir was nowhere in sight.
“So,” The bell rang once again as the Other Baekhyun closed it. Rara locked eyes with her brother seriously, careful not to emit anger in her voice. “You skipped work just to...what? Help Hyerin around the bookshop?” She asked in a quiet tone. “Must be heavy-duty and incredibly important, considering you indirectly forced Baekhyun to get out of bed for you.”
“You got a lot of nerve lecturing me considering that I’ve been covering up for you since the beginning.” Chanyeol retorted quietly, feeling the heat rise to his head.
“You got a lot of nerve saying that considering that you had Iam meditatio in your possession.” The subtle surprise on Chanyeol’s face gave him away. He was so sure that Rara wouldn’t find out about that detail.
“Ah,” Hyerin—The Other Hyerin—appeared behind the counter, placing the books on the tabletop with ease. “It must have been that bastard Haoran, is it? Taught you all about Miroirs, didn’t he?”
Rara’s eyes dimmed with anger at the sight of the Other Hyerin. As she thought of how much pain Baekhyun was in and how clueless he was as to how to escape that different reality, she crumpled her fists until they turned white. The Other Baekhyun put his hand over her tightly closed fists and whispered, “Calm down, love.” It was then Rara also realized that her breathing became uneven with all the madness going on inside her head; with the Other Baekhyun’s advice, she relaxed. “Speak with your brain, not heart.” He said quietly.
“I’ve never seen a Miroir so...tame.” The Other Hyerin complimented, leering.
