A Little History & a Small Thought

Ever Dream (It's Back... Again... For good)

JB was slightly irritated that the snow had fallen as nice as it was he’d rather not be delayed. He sat by the window watching the steady fall of the flacks cover the ground joining their relatives, making the white mound higher.

Staring isn’t going to make the snow melt,” Dr. Lee spoke softly. He know the young blonde was eager to find Young Jae but snow in the mountains came quicker and hit a lot harder. There was nothing any of them could do, not even #12164’s twin.

JB stood up, “what are we supposed to do then?”

The doctor shrugged, “we could get a makeshift work area. I don’t think Young Jae will be in any condition to travel to far. Him Chan will be close to having his.”

Where’s the other guy?” the blonde asked.

Dr. Lee sighed, “He’ll be down in a bit. He’s going to help set everything up.”

JB nodded looking back out the window, “Do you think they managed to find shelter?”

One can only hope,” the doctor didn’t have any way of assuring the younger of something that neither knew about.

Yong Guk would've thought of finding shelter for his family,” a voice caught their attention, “even if he had to build it himself.”

The blonde nodded finding some comfort in the other’s words, “Let’s hope they make it through the winter if he had to build at a moment’s notice.”

Don’t worry,” he laughed scratching the back of his head, “I’m sure they managed to find a town somewhere.”

Dr. Lee nodded, “there are plenty small towns around the area. I’m surprised I didn’t know about them.”

Not many people do,” he smiled. “You have to be from a small town yourself to look.”

JB nodded, “obviously. Why don’t major maps have them?”

The doctor shrugged, “I don’t know that’s something you’d have to ask the map makers.”

The younger two laughed lightly. JB sighed, “Well Yong Nam, I hope you’re right, I don’t want to lose my possible mate or our children.”

Yong Nam nodded his understanding, “They’re fine. I just wished Yong Guk would've told us he was planning on visiting then we could’ve begun searching sooner. It’s not like him to get lost, especially with Him Chan and a baby.”

None of them knew Him Chan was pregnant,” Dr. Lee pointed out. “He lost his test. We should’ve tested Young Jae sooner as well. Now we have two pregnant Carriers lost in the wilderness along with two children.”

You’re not making any one of us feel better,” JB glared softly.

The doctor gave a weak laugh, “I mean it’s more of our faults if we weren’t too busy arguing who Young Jae’s Dominate was then we would've seen the signs and have Him Chan tested a lot sooner instead of waiting until he was going to leave.”

It happens,” Yong Nam smiled softly. “How far along are they?”

Dr. Lee shrugged, “We believe Young Jae is four months maybe a week or two more. And Him Chan is possibly two or three months, he could be four for all we know.”

Yong Nam nodded, “Makes me curious to know what their having.”

I’ll let you two get some bonding time in,” Dr. Lee smiled. “I’m going to make sure everything is in order for when we bring them back.

The other two nodded not bothering to watch the brunette doctor leave. JB smiled, “Young Jae’s having twins. I just want them to be alright, it doesn’t matter if their boys or girls.”

I wonder if Him Chan will have twins,” Yong Nam laughed. “He might get mad at Yong Guk though.”

Why?” JB asked.

Because we were terrible,” he laughed. “We used to pick on him when we were kids. He was the only one who could tell the difference between us so we made sure he knew who it was that irritated him the most.”

What did he do?” JB was interested in the story.

At first he cried,” Young Nam his teeth. “He was a chunky little kid. When he learned that crying only fueled us on, he began fighting back. We regretted it. He managed to get us into so much trouble. Around middle school we calmed down a bit since Yong Guk was put in a different class. I got to know Him Chan better. I watched him grow and steadily lose his weight. And he got himself an attitude.”

JB laughed, “What happened?”

Well he had a way of putting people in their place,” he smiled. “I guess he learned that from being picked on all through elementary.”

How did they mate?”

Yong Nam laughed hard, “If you would've seen how they treated each other back then you would’ve never thought those two would get together. Once we reach high school I was in the same class as Him Chan and Yong Guk was across the hall. When I first saw Him Chan my jaw literally dropped so did Yong Guk's. We hadn’t expected our affectionately dubbed ‘ugly duckling’ to become a swan.”

JB laughed urging the elder to continue and he did. “Well even with a girlfriend Yong Guk couldn’t help but flirt with Him Chan, if that’s what you call verbal abuse these days. And Him Chan always had something to say, Yong Guk didn’t like that at all. Especially when Him Chan and I became close. I could tell he had a thing for him but Him Chan was still debating. I guess Yong Guk wasn’t going to wait any longer because he snuck out of the house after graduation. We didn’t know where he was for a week until I tried calling Him Chan, but his parents answered explaining everything. I told my parents and we went over to find a newly mated Him Chan and Yong Guk.”

So he skipped all the formalities?” JB laughed. Yong Nam nodded, “Him Chan was pissed but he didn’t deny that he loved Yong Guk. We had a small ceremony for them introducing them as a couple.”

That’s cute in a bad way.”

I know, but that’s those two for ya.” The two laughed lightly. It was good to be able to confide in some one. Yong Nam sighed, “so what about you and Young Jae?”

We practically grew up together,” he gave a sad smile. “His mother left when we were really young. I remember it though. He cried for an entire month.”

His father never remated?”

JB shook his head, “no, he didn’t want to mate someone just to have them leave again. He especially didn’t want them to be mean to Young Jae. He was always so happy though. He pretended nothing bothered him, but I could see it in his eyes. That desperate cry for love. Young Jae never came out to play one day or the day after that. We were eleven… I didn’t know where he was until last year. I was afraid he wouldn’t remember me or that he didn’t want to see me. I never had the courage to speak to him. Until Dr. Lee and I were discussing possible mates. Young Jae was on the list of people of interest. I asked if we could get a chance to talk but he had an argument with Dr. Yoo who happens to be Young Jae’s father. Apparently he had someone he wanted him to be mated with.”

Yong Nam nodded, “Then how is it you’re possibly his Dominate?”

A clause in the Facility Rule Book,” JB smiled sadly. “If a Carrier is paired with more than one Dominate then they can inseminate him with both sets of to see which one his body will accept.”

But would the Dominate be willing to accept the Carrier?”

Mostly,” JB sighed. “I’m afraid that Dae Hyun won’t accept him if he is carrying his child or would hurt him if he’s carrying mine.”

I don’t think Dae Hyun would hurt him,” Yong Nam sighed sadly. “He’s wanted a family of his own more than anything.”

JB nodded not knowing the true meaning of the elder’s words. The blonde looked to the window, “I just hope the snow doesn’t last long.”

Don’t hold your breath,” Yong Nam chuckled as the younger groaned.

Jong Up continued to watch the snow fall. It was late but nobody was awake to tell him to go back to bed. He looked back at the bed across the room. Him Chan and occasionally Yong Guk had been sleeping in the downstairs room ever since the incident at the Market. Jun Hong and Young Jae have been sharing a room. Dae Hyun had not stepped one foot in the house. He had refused to even come within a yard of it, opting to walk around the farm just to get to the barn.

He sighed looking back out the window. He couldn’t help but feel sorry for the silver haired boy. He loved Young Jae but fate apparently had other plans. The young Carriers were right. They shouldn’t have fought, it was pointless and stupid, especially now. Dae Hyun was right to want to avoid Young Jae, he only wanted to give him a chance to find better but that plan failed miserably.

He and Jun Hong had talked about their findings earlier that day when everyone was too busy to listen to their conversation. He was amazed at that they had come to the same conclusion. He was even more amazed when Jun Hong told him about Ji Eun.

Ji Eun had no right to harm Him Chan, or the baby, or Young Jae. Why would she even anyhow? She was mated to Dae Hyun and she was pregnant. He couldn’t find any reason for him to commit such a heinous act. Was she really jealous like Young Jae said? Why would she be? Dae Hyun was good looking, had a very good job, nice, a great cook, and gave her anything she asked for.

Was it because of Him Chan? Because he was higher up than her, that everyone admired him or found him beautiful? That it was easier for him to carry a child? Or maybe that he was in his eighth month, which was unheard of for a male Carrier.

Maybe it was the attention that Him Chan received from his mate? No, that can’t be it… Dae Hyun gave her all his attention. Maybe the relationship and history the two had and could laugh about. The two only met at the Facility, so they didn’t have what the two had. Jong Up couldn’t put his finger on it; he didn’t know Ji Eun very well so he couldn’t think about what she felt was missing.

There were so many missing pieces he didn’t know where to begin. It could’ve been almost anything. Jun Hong said she had been looking around but none were interested. He remembered the maknae making small comments here and there about her. He never really paid attention to her since she didn’t like hanging around them too much. Dae Hyun was practically on house arrest.

Wait… Dae Hyun couldn’t tell when she reached her third month. Or when she needed help… Yong Guk said the Dominate can tell when it’s their child… Why was it that Yong Guk knew when she was in her third month? How did he know that she needed to be taken in?

Jong Up looked to the man holding Him Chan in his arms. He shook his head in disbelief. There was no way… It couldn’t be true… He would never do something like that to Him Chan… He loved him too much to even make that kind of decision, even self-consciously.

He held in his tears of rage and grief. He didn’t want to wake the sleeping couple. He couldn’t explain why he was crying. He needed to get more facts before throwing the idea out there. He didn’t want to cause any unnecessary pain. No, he needed to talk to Jun Hong about this first. He paid attention to everything, there has to be some sort of clue. Who knows maybe the maknae was already thinking the same thing. There was no other reason for Ji Eun to attack Him Chan. What else would she have possibly gained from their death? Unfortunately for her, Him Chan survived and they had Young Jae to thank for that, though he had gotten hurt in the process.

Jong Up sighed. Misery seemed to love them. First Him Chan's loss of his first child, Dae Hyun losing his family, Young Jae's forced pregnancy, his foolish attempt to mate him, Jun Hong losing faith in him, Dae Hyun attacking Young Jae and now the possibility of Yong Guk having cheated on Him Chan. When would their downward spiral end? When will they have their turn to be happy? To be sure of the one they love and know that nothing bad will happen?

Jong Up laid himself down wrapping himself in his blankets. He wanted to cry but the fear loomed over him. Him Chan would have to be told, he was going to figure it out sooner or later. Nothing would ever prepare him for this bombshell. All he could do was wait until they were certain before letting it out.
