Mini Drama: Devil’s Tears: The Invitation

          A few months later, Mingyu was still studying alone inside his huge classroom. His everyday life seemed like a loop. Same activities every day, same people he’s meeting, same emotions he’s feeling. He felt bored in life. The innocent Mingyu didn’t like the luxurious living he’s having because he could get what he wanted easily in one request. His life has no challenge at all.

          Seungkwan, his butler, was the only person he was with every day. He was having fun to be with him, but he just wanted new friends too. As for the old lady, Jun transferred her and her grandchildren to a suitable place because Wonwoo did not want that old lady inside his premise due to what happened from the last time.

For the past few months, all he had been doing was to study and sometimes work in Wonwoo’s restaurants, but other than that, he would just stay at home and sometimes if he could help somebody, he’d offer his service, just to break out to the loop of his everyday life.

          Mingyu never spent the money Wonwoo was giving him unless he needed to. On the other hand, Jun ordered Seungkwan to accompany him for shopping, or even go to a bar and fun places; however, the young man refused because he didn’t want to.

          One time, he asked Seungkwan to take his break first because it was also his vacation. Seungkwan declined his offer; however, the tall kind man insisted. He told Jun about it, and he allowed the butler to take a leave for a week, so Seungkwan was free to go and he thanked his kind master for that very wonderful reward. Mingyu also gave him pocket money.

          Then, after a long time of watching the television, he decided to visit Wonwoo because ever since the meeting, he did not show his face anymore. He thought that maybe he was just busy; nevertheless, he continued going to the company.

          He got up from the couch and dressed in his very comfortable attire. After a few minutes of commuting through public transportation -which was the first time he did that was why he got lost- Mingyu finally arrived at JW Corporation main building.

          He went inside and asked the receptionist discreetly if either Wonwoo or Jun was inside the office. On the other hand, the receptionist identified him as soon as possible and assisted Mingyu immediately to their lounge for him to wait. Mingyu became shy of the treatment and shrank a little bit. He asked the lady that he would like to just wait outside than inside the VIP Lounge; in addition, he asked the lady to treat him as she treated a normal people. The lady smiled because he’s a very kind and humble boss.

Receptionist:

As you wish, Sir Mingyu.

Mingyu:

Oh, please… call me Mingyu.

Receptionist:

Okay.

Is there something you want before I go?

Mingyu:

Nothing.

I just want to know if one of them are there.

Receptionist:

Well, I haven’t seen them this morning, but I’ll ask Sir Joshua about it.

Why don’t you just go up and wait up there. It’d be more comfortable for you.

Mingyu:

He’ll get mad at me if I come there without any appointment. He told me that one time. Maybe he’s…

He’s errrrr… a loner. He doesn’t want people, you know.

Receptionist:

(She laughed)

I see.

But you’re his brother.

Mingyu:

No. I’m just one of his minions.

(He smiled)

Receptionist:

What an interesting relationship you have with your brother.

Mingyu:

(He sighed)

I guess you’re right. I think the right term for that is mysterious.

(He giggled.)

          The receptionist left Mingyu to call Joshua to confirm if the two big bosses were in their office. On the other hand, Joshua said that they would be at the office by 4pm, and he’d be going down to meet him personally.

          After a few minutes of waiting, Joshua personally meet him at the lobby and advised him to just wait at his office for a little longer because they’d arrive anytime soon.

Joshua:

Young master, you should have gone up.

Mingyu:

Hyung, please call me by name. I beg you… It’s embarrassing.

(He shrank again.)

Joshua:

(Giggled)

Alright. What brings you here?

Mingyu:

Nothing. I’m just bored. I want to see Wonwoo-hyu… oh I mean the master.

Did I disturb you?

Joshua:

No. not at all.

Well, you can call him hyung, since you’re his dongsaeng.

(He giggled)

You’re funny, Mingyu-ya.

Mingyu:

I cannot do that.

Anyway…

It’s my vacation now and I let Seungkwan to have his day off. I was left alone in the house and I feel bored.

Joshua:

Do you want me to give him a call?

Mingyu:

Can you? I don’t have his number.

Well, I guess he won’t answer because he’s busy.

Joshua:

(He was surprised when he heard that Mingyu has no contact with his brother.)

Really?

I’ll give you his number.

Mingyu:

Well, I left my phone.

(He smiled awkwardly.)

Joshua:

(Gave his calling card.)

Call me when you are bored.

I’ll text you his number.

(He winked)

Mingyu:

Hyung, is it your lunch break?

Joshua:

Yes. You wanna eat with me?

Mingyu:

Yes.

Joshua:

C’mon.

          They entered a small café near their office and ordered pasta and sandwich together with an ice blend coffee.

Mingyu:

(He murmured)

I just can’t understand why people spent large amount of money for a food, when I can make this at home without spending more.

(He sighed)

Joshua:

(He giggled)

You’re quite interesting Mingyu.

You should not think a lot, since you can afford it anyway.
