Mini Drama: Devil’s Tears: The Temptation

 

          The next morning, the demon woke the man up and gave him clothes to wear.

 

Wonwoo:

Get up, kid.

Wear these.

(He handed him over fine clothes.)

 

Mingyu:

What for?

 

Wonwoo:

We’re going somewhere.

 

Mingyu:

May I kno-

 

Wonwoo:

Shut your mouth and change your clothes.

 

          Mingyu had no choice but to follow his orders. He changed his clothes and tailed behind him. They walked for about four hours just to arrive at the foot of the mountain. Mingyu kept asking him but Wonwoo just ignored him.

 

          Meanwhile, a black luxurious car stopped in front of them. Wonwoo sat at the back, while Mingyu was stunned and blinded of how beautiful the car was. Wonwoo, on the other hand, called him back to reality and made him ride the car.

 

Wonwoo:

Sit in the front seat.

 

          Mingyu was excited riding that car. He was scrutinizing every detail of it with his sparkling eyes.

 

Wonwoo:

Do you like this?

I will give you one?

(Again, he showed a grin by dragging the innocent young man to the pleasures of hell.)

 

Mingyu:

Really? How kind of you, but I don’t know how to drive.

 

Wonwoo:

I’ll hire a driver for you.

 

Mingyu:

No need. I can’t use this anyway.

 

          Driving their way to the city, Mingyu was amazed of how beautiful Seoul was. His eyes were very busy, appreciating every building, every road, and every people he saw.

 

Mingyu:

(With his mouth open wide.)

Woah! Daebak!

Do demons go out too?

 

          He realized that there’s a person beside him, who was the driver and he didn’t know if he’s aware of the mysterious man’s true identity. But then, he heard the driver giggle. He was surprised by his reaction.

 

Mingyu:

You know?

 

          The young driver just nodded.

 

Mingyu:

Aren’t you scared?

 

Driver:

Why would I?

 

Mingyu:

Because… he’s… a… devil?

 

Driver:

A bored devil, you say?

(He smiled)

 

Mingyu:

Isn’t that more dangerous?

 

Driver:

No.

 

Mingyu:

Are you a human?

 

Driver:

Yes.

 

Mingyu:

(He noticed that he’s answering just like the devil behind him.)

You sounded like him when you answer.

Are you a good man?

(He added)

Or maybe, he probably threatened you?

 

Driver:

(Looked at the center mirror to see his master.)

He hired me. I earn money. That’s it. I’m just doing my duties.

 

Mingyu:

How did you know?

 

Driver:

(He looked at his master with a smile.)

He granted my wish.

 

Mingyu:

(Looked at Wonwoo)

So, are you good?

It doesn’t make sense.

 

          He was so confused; however, the devil won’t talk.

 

          One moment, it turned so quiet inside the car. To defeat the awkwardness, Mingyu started to talk again.

 

Mingyu:

You don’t like music?

 

Driver:

Master doesn’t like it inside the car.

 

Mingyu:

Ah. I see.

My name is Mingyu…

And yours?

 

Driver:

Jun.

 

Mingyu:

Nice to meet you. You seems so young?

 

Jun:

Not really.

I’m at the right age to work.

(He smiled.)

 

Mingyu:

Your face is so kind.

 

Jun:

Thank you.

 

          After a while, they finally arrived at their location.

 

Jun:

Master, we’re here.

 

          A man opened the door for Wonwoo and greeted him politely. He was wearing a tailored suit that compliments the figure of his body.

 

Butler:

It’s been years, master. You didn’t change a bit.

What brings you here?

 

          The employee was surprised with his immediate visit. It’s been several years since he came back.

 

Wonwoo:

Where’s the key to a vacant suite?

 

Butler:

(He gave a bundle of key which he grabbed from his suit pocket.)

Here, master.

(He always keep the spare keys on his hand.)

 

Wonwoo:

(He looked back at the car to call Mingyu.)

Lad, it’s time to get out of my car.

 

          Mingyu did not hear it clearly, but he read his lips, so he came out of the car.

 

Butler:

Who is he?

 

Wonwoo:

A useless brat.

 

Mingyu:

I’m not.

 

Wonwoo:

Prepare a suit for him.

 

          Wonwoo started to walk inside a very fancy and expensive hotel. It’s one of the top finest hotels in Korea. The clueless young man behind just tag along.

 

Mingyu:

Where are we going?

 

Wonwoo:

(Smirked)

I have prepared a gift for my precious guest.

 

Mingyu:

What will I do?

 

Wonwoo:

Relax and enjoy lad.

(His evil grin did not fade on his face.)

 

Mingyu:

What?

 

          After a lift from a very luxurious elevator tinted with gold paint, they headed to a suite. Wonwoo opened it and showed the room to Mingyu. The design was so elegant with its minimalistic charm. It was painted in all white with a hint of grey. Everything was perfect from the interior to the furniture. Mingyu couldn’t just let his eyes off the place. He was astonished that he couldn’t believe that everything he was seeing at the moment is not a dream. He even pinched himself just to confirm if he was in the real world.

 

Wonwoo:

From now on, this will be your home.

 

Mingyu:

Really?

I thought you are a devil, but…

You are actually an angel.

(The innocent man complimented him.)

 

Wonwoo:

This is all yours.

 

Mingyu:

Really?!

(He was astounded.)

 

Wonwoo:

Are you hungry?

 

          After a while, the butler came to the room and delivered a pair of suit.

 

Butler:

Master, I think this will fit him. I already contacted the designer for his suit. She’ll be here soon.

 

Wonwoo:

Good. Call the chef and order us food for lunch.

 

Butler:

Yes, master.

 

          The dedicated employee left immediately and did what he was told to. On the other hand, the innocent Mingyu displayed a curious face again and again and asked him questions.

 

Mingyu:

Did he know too?

 

Wonwoo:

No.

(He answered him immediately as he knew that he won’t stop bothering him.)

 

Mingyu:

I see.

 

Wonwoo:

Take a bath and put that suit on. We’re going somewhere after we eat.
