Mini Drama: Devil’s Tears:  Vengeance

 

After Mingyu’s birthday, DK went ahead to the kitchen first thing early in the morning, since it’s always his duty to cook for them. Actually, he didn’t intentionally get off to bed early. It’s just that he couldn’t sleep. And it frightened him more seeing the human statues on their living room turned into decorations from the last night’s party.

 

DK wasn’t really in a good state of mind when he does his cooking as he spilled most of the egg while beating them recklessly. Later on, Joshua who had just woken up and had witness the mess, scolded DK.

 

Joshua:

Hey, don’t waste the eggs, DK!

Let me have them.

 

DK was surprised.

 

DK:

Omo!

S-sorry.

(He immediately cleaned the mess)

 

Joshua:

What’s wrong?

 

DK:

(Was more surprised)

Hyung… is everything okay to you?

Is this normal?

Look at the statues- I mean the people outside.

Aren’t they abnormal to you?

 

Joshua:

Let it be.

Mingyu wants it.

 

DK:

Are you okay with that?

(Slowly seeing the progression of his eyes stretching to the max.)

 

Joshua:

(Leaving a mysterious no reaction face.)

 

DK:

Then what is your ‘let him be.’ supposed to mean?

Besides, where did he get the powers?

 

Joshua:

I don’t know.

 

DK:

Hyung, he will listen to you. Talk to him.

 

Joshua:

He will but he’s not gonna follow me anyway.

I’ll just follow him whatever he ordered me to do so.

 

DK:

Joshua:

It’s much better.

 

DK became speechless as he watched Joshua get the kettle and water to boil.

 

Joshua:

Hey, let’s stick together.

 

DK nodded with his doubtful wide eyes.

 

Joshua smiled.

He’s our baby anyway.

He knows what’s he’s doing.

Let’s just wait.

 

DK:

Alright.

 

Joshua:

Cook something delightful for all of us.

 

DK:

(Confused)

Something delightful?

 

Joshua:

(He giggled)

Yeah. Something Mingyu missed.

 

DK:

Then probably instant noodles?

But it’s morning.

 

Joshua:

DK:

And master?

(Assuming that the real demon won’t like the idea at all.)

 

Joshua:

He’ll tag along.

He’ll eat anything.

(He smiled)

 

DK:

(He smiled)

 

After getting ready with the rest of the day, Mingyu went downstairs wearing the clothes DK gave –the whole set- with Joshua’s light colored scarf wrapped around his neck and finally his bracelet.

 

He went downstairs seeing Wonwoo and the others already seated on the table.

 

Joshua:

You are late.

(With a strict face)

Good morning!

(He smiled)

 

Mingyu:

Good morning!

(He smiled)

 

He went to the table and joined them.

 

DK:

You are wearing my gift!

(He was delighted)

 

Mingyu:

Yeah!

They are pretty!

Thank you guys!

I love them!

 

Joshua smiled.

 

Joshua:

The scarf looks good on you.

Better take care of that because I sew that.

 

Mingyu:

Of course, hyung.

Thank you.

Wonwoo noticed the bracelet, but he did nothing. He ignored the boy.

 

Mingyu:

(He noticed that he’s not in the mood this morning)

Wonwoo hyung… I wore your gift.

 

Wonwoo:

I am seeing that.

(While sipping on his coffee)

 

Mingyu:

Aren’t you happy?

 

Wonwoo:

It doesn’t suit you well.

 

Mingyu felt sad but he had to maintain his happy expression to make him feel a little at ease.

 

Mingyu:

It looks good on me though.

 

But Wonwoo chose not to reply.

 

After taking their breakfast. DK remembered that Mingyu had to attend some formal meeting. So he was bothered with a little casual clothes –his gift- his master was wearing.

 

DK:

Mingyu…

Where are you going?

(He scowled)

 

Mingyu:

To the office.

 

DK:

And why are you wearing such a casual clothing?

You know we are having a meeting, right?

 

Mingyu:

But, I like your gift.

(He pouted.)

 

DK:

You need to change.

 

Mingyu:

No.

(He backed out while protecting the clothes he’s wearing.)

 

But DK argued and finally with Joshua’s help, they were able to make Mingyu change his clothing. As a result, Mingyu was so not in the good mood the whole day.

 

The next day came and they had interviews for new employees. Mingyu volunteered himself instead of Wonwoo, because he thought that Wonwoo might kill them if he didn’t want them, or look for another pet like him… and he doesn’t want it.

 

So the interview had begun. Mingyu was looking for a perfect candidate for an associate marketing position, and then, he stumbled upon a very familiar person while looking at their resumes before the interview; though, it’s been a while since they didn’t see each other. And Mingyu didn’t even know if he could still recognize him because the last time he saw him was when they were still young, before he was dumped to the forest to die.

 

Mingyu recognized his cousin wearing a nice pair of suit, groomed hair and with his brightest smile from the line through his glass doors.

 

Joshua brought the next person in Mingyu’s office for his turn to be interviewed.

 

Joshua:

Sir, here’s our next candidate.

 

The young man was so nervous that the one who’s going to interview him was with the CEO of a big company, but at the same time, he needed to show is confidence. So, he entered the room well composed and politely.

 

Mingyu looked at him from head to toe wearing a very annoying grin. And so, he started the interview with a weird first question.

 

Mingyu:

How have you been, So Eun? Looking good.

(He complimented.)

 

The young man was surprised.

 

So Eun:

Sir?

(He looked at him and thought that he’s somehow familiar)

 

Mingyu:

How’s aunt and uncle?

Are they well?

(Looking at the candidate’s appearance, he said.)

Hope you are great!

You look well-mannered and educated now, unlike before. Oh well, we were still young back then.

(He giggled)
