Stupid Budget Cuts

“Sungjong, wake up.”
I slowly opened my eyes. “W-What?” I murmured.
Suddenly, as my vision cleared, I realized that L’s handsome face was in view, and I widened my eyes in surprise at how close his face was to mine. He shook my shoulder and said, “Get up. Or the bus will leave without you.”
I gasped. “What time is it?!”
“8:45.”
“! And the bus to the campsite leaves at 9! Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?!” I cried in panic.
L shrugged. “You looked so peaceful sleeping.”
“Aish!” I said in frustration, not even hearing what he said.
I scrambled over to my closet, pulling out random clothes as I struggled to get dressed as quickly as possible. That was when I remembered:
That I was a girl.
Shiz.
I stopped midway of pulling off my shirt and embarrassingly chuckled.
“Hehehe. I’ll be right back.”
L nodded at me and smirked.
I dashed over to the bathroom halls and changed as quickly as I could while making sure that my wig was safe and secure.
When I went back to the dorm L and Sungyeol were arguing.
“There’s no room for your 4 suitcases Myungsoo,” Sungyeol was saying.
“I don’t care,” L retorted.
“YAH, don’t ruin this trip for all the seniors,” Sungyeol said.
“Shut up. Don’t tell me what to do.”
“Where are we gonna put 4 of your suitcases when everyone else only has one?!” Sungyeol cried. “You’re being ridiculous!”
“I don’t even like camping anyways,” L mumbled.
“Whatever. Go ahead and bring 4 suitcases to a one week camping trip out in the woods. But you’re carrying them all.” And with that, Sungyeol stormed out of the room.
“You guys fight a lot,” I remarked to L.
“So I’ve been told,” L mumbled again. Then he smirked. “Ay, Sungjong-ah, wanna help me with my suitcases?”
I laughed. “Psh, no.”
*You may be good looking but that doesn’t mean you can charm me into doing your dirty work*
L sighed and carried his 4 ginormous suitcases out to the bus. I leisurely rolled behind my one mini suitcase. I didn’t need much.
Sandeul, the guy in charge of student trips, widened his eyes at L’s amount of suitcases as he rolled them up to the trunk of the bus.
“Seriously?” Sandeul asked.
All L did was nod in response as he lifted his suitcases onto the bus. I instinctively waited for him to finish.
The two of us walked onto the bus and I saw Gongchan sitting by himself, looking out the window. I felt bad for ditching him that night at homecoming, so as Sungjong I went over and sat next to him.
“Hey Gongchan,” I said.
He blinked, surprised. “Oh, hey, Sungjong.”
I nudged him. “You alright?”
Gongchan nodded. “Yeah, I guess. But….your sister doesn’t seem to like me much…” he frowned.
I felt guilty. “Yes she does! It’s just that, you know, L and her were chosen to dance. But I’m sure she thinks that you’re a great guy!”
Gongchan smiled a bit. “Thanks. Sungjong. That makes me feel a bit better.”
I grinned. “Good.”
“Why do I have to sit next to you?” I heard Sungyeol whine in the distance behind me.
“Because there are no more seats left!” L exclaimed in response.
“Go make a three way with Sungjong and Gongchan or something I don’t know! Just get away from me!”
“Well too bad! Man up you big .”
Sungyeol gasped. “You did not just call me a !”
“Well I did. Got a problem with that?”
“BASTARD.”
“.”
“Wtf I’m not a !” Sungyeol cried.
“Shut up.”
I laughed a bit at hearing Sungyeol and L argue like this.
The ride to the campsite didn’t seem long at all. Gongchan and I played games and told each other jokes while Sungyeol and L bickered to no end at the back of the bus. I looked behind me and found Woohyun and Dongwoo sound asleep, Sunggyu reading a magazine, and Hoya….
….staring right at me O_O
He smirked and crossed his arms while I shrank back in fear. He’s made it obvious that he knows about my true identity but how long would he keep it a secret? Should I go confront him about it as Lee _______?
My thoughts were interrupted as the bus pulled to an abrupt stop.
“WE’RE HERE!” Sandeul shouted.
“Ugh shut up I was sleeping,” Woohyun said grumpily.
“Sorry,” Sandeul said. “But c’mon guys! Lighten up!”
“I thought we were going to Japan or something,” Sunggyu mumbled.
“Stupid budget cuts,” Hoya added.
So we all got off the bus and breathed in the fresh mountain air.
“So where are our cabins?” I asked.
“Uh….” Sandeul scratched his head. “T-There are no cabins.”
“WHAT?!”
“T-That’s why I told you guys to pack tents! Camping would be no fun if we had clean, warm, luxurious cabins!”
“Oh my god, this guy,” Woohyun said to himself, rubbing his forehead. “Added to the fact that that bus ride just spoke nausea.”
“Need some Dramamine?” I asked Woohyun in concern.
“It’s okay Sungjong. Thanks anyways,” Woohyun replied.
Our group was to hike up the place to a local campsite. I put on my hiking boots and prepared for the hiking trip. I seemed like the only one excited about all of this.
“It’s so hot,” L complained.
“Have you ever hiked before?” I asked.
L shook his head. “I hate camping.”
“Why?”
“Because I don’t like having a bunch of mosquitoes biting my skin.”
“It’s okay Myungsoo! This will be fun. Let’s make the most of it,” I said.
L shrugged. “Whatever.”
I watched him walk ahead of me, catching up to Sungyeol and the others.
*This might be the only trip that I’ll ever have with you in my entire life….because after my brother and I switch back…..I’ll probably never see you again.*
